Wasteland 2 is fun. Only about 14h into the game, but loving it. Strange how I never bothered keeping up to date with news about its development, beta and so on, but I ended up really enjoying it.

I just hope that when Torment comes out it will keep me entertained as much, if not more, as Wasteland 2.

I'm actually having a lot of fun with Destiny. There are so many bad things about the game but the gameplay is good enough that I can't stop playing.

Wish loot wasn't so random though.

Pretty much my mirrors my thoughts. Really annoying how easy it could have been to push it over the line too...

    More maps.

Ability to warp down to specific waypoints on the map.

    Non 90s-level load times.....

More quest variety other than holdouts and 'go here and hold square'.

More character customisation (not enough differentiating classes apart).

A fucking interface in game to communicate with your clan

If i'd had those things, I'd probably give it a 9/10, even though I desperately wanted an engaging story and ship combat..

About to get Thorn though (exotic hand canon reward from exotic bounty), so that's cool.

Regarding story, guess people expected more from Bungie. My personal issues aside from what you've already mentioned:

No lore, No actual way to check what you're supposed to do next (quests).

Stupid stupid loot. In the patrol mission on earth I was farming for my bounties when suddenly an earth shattering screech comes out of nowhere and my screen starts blurring. There are unholy booms and bangs and things are exploding everywhere. At this point I'm genuinely terrified. I look up to see this giant spider mech thing. Me (lvl 5) and a couple of lvl 15s spend 10 minutes or so to kill this thing, with a lot of awesome moments. Sounds great right? Except the moment is immediately ruined when I get Jack Shit for doing it. Even in an unforgiving game like Path of Exile there is guaranteed loot.

Everything is easily fixable though. I just hope it's not all in paid DLC.

Nice! I'm only level 11. Just got to Venus.

The loot is not so much RNG like in other similar RPGs. Expect to get majority of your loot from vendors with events like that giving mats (once a day) for upgrading your purple gear (if you get gold tier).

Basically, don't even think about loot until level 20.

There are engrams btw that are basically 'unidentified' pieces of loot that drop randomly. You might get some good loot from them but don't expect much.

You'll be doing pve/ pvp bounties and strikes for marks and rep to purchase your end game loot.

Also, don't spend your strange coins or motes of light on anyone but the vendor (Xur) who pops up at the tower in a random place every Friday -Saturday.

He sells exotic (yellow, the best) gear for those currencies.

Welp, a few days back there was some kind of update for Wasteland 2, about 1.5GB in size, and now none of my old saves work. It's just stuck on the loading screen, at roughly around 30% percent, never moving an inch.

I can start a new game, save and load that save without any issue, but the old ones are busted.

Which is why I spent yesterday playing Shadowrun Returns, the Dead Man's Switch, and surprisingly enough found it alright. I've already finished Dragonfall, so I now ask you DLP folks if you know any good content from the Steam Workshop for Shadowrun?

Has anyone played Shadows of Mordor, yet? Is it worth shelling out $50 for, or should I wait for a price cut?

Seen a bunch of people play it on Twitch.

The ending sucks. Ending aside, I guess if you're a LOTR fan then yeah?

I just preordered for 100 (yay Australia) after watching quick looks. It looks like one of the most fun open world games I've seen.

I've no hope or interest in the story though. I'm sure they're inevitably hamstrung by canon.

Do anything crazy and you piss off the purists. Make it too nuanced and you drive off the casuals.

It's the same thing that crippled The Force Unleashed imo - another game I had heaps of fun playing.

Either way, I'm excited to be all 'Littlefinger' with the Nemesis system. Gonna stealth it as much as possible.

It is fun.. and the Nemesis system is very entertaining (at least once you got one or two powerful enemies because otherwise you kill them easily and miss all this nice conservation)

I'm enjoying it more than I did Arkham city if that says anything. If you don't like the combat style you shouldn't bother though since fighting is all you do. Getting around can be a bit tedious as well since everything is really spread out and the speed you move around the map without a mount isn't that great.

The Nemesis system is the best part of the game though. I may have spent a good portion of my time hunting down orc captains, getting them to really low health and letting them retreat. The amount of hate they have for me now is quite fun as I regularly have random ambushes of like three or four captains if I ever let an alarm be sounded. Dealing with power level 20 captains can be a bit of a pain in the ass though since they are immune to just about god damn everything.

About creating LetsPlays and recordings of video games, what program would you recommend? Free would be preferable.

Shadows of mordor was super fun. It's by no means a "Revolutionary" or any of the other bollocks the gaming press called it, but it's a rather solid repurposing of Arkham mechanics with an interesting setting and a decent story.

I also prefer it to all of the batman games. Probably because fighting a horde of Urukhai in a doomed crusade to prevent the return of Dark Lord Sauron is much more interesting than having a slap fight with a bunch of dudes in gimp masks in order to prevent Joker from doing something "crazy cooky random".

That ending left me with an impression that a third of a game had been cut out though. Those that have finished it will know what I mean. I got the feeling that I had fallen for a nice plot twist that left an opening for either another act or a hook for dlc/sequel, but no something incredibly stupid happens and it just ends. Than a new sequel hook gets introduced and it's rather shit.

One could argue that the Nemesis system is revolutionary. At least for a console game.

I doubt previous generations could have handled such complex AI systems.

Maybe anyone has an interesting suggestion for what PC game to try out on a 1280x800 projector?

The large image on the wall is awesome for movies and the like but I've noticed that the lower resolution* is something that keeps getting in the way of games.

Regardless, a huge display for Mirror's Edge gives an awesome experience. What else could be enchanted with large "screen" but with the limits of 1280x800 resolution?

*I figure getting a HD capable projector would solve this, but as I've been given the 1280x800 one for a few months for free, and here we are. ;D

Goat Simulator is not a game. Garry's Mod was a better sandbox, and a few years ago, at that.

Well, damn. I just finished downloading it.

Uh. Skyrim might be good. The lower resolution may be a bastard, but fiddling with mods and settings can make up for that. I don't mean shitty oversaturated post-processing effects, but things like distant objects and terrain. You could make your wall a window into Skyrim, and see forever.

Is there anyone here who has a complete mod list of Skyrim and how to install it to get max enjoyment and graphics? Would make my life easy. My PC can handle lots of thing, not the top of the line, but close enough.

The easiest ways to install Skyrim mods are through Nexus Mod Manager and Steam workshop. There are some essential mods like SkyUI but the rest is personal preference. Take a look at the mods on the Nexus and steam and see what you want.
