Most Skyrim mods these days run through the Nexus Mod Manager which makes it as easy as a click. It can get more complicated if you want to run ENBs, but they're hardly necessary. And there's a tool that manages load order here http://loot.github.io.

Most of the top mods are here: http://skyrimgems.com. But those are gameplay mods for the most part, not graphics. However, you'll find a couple hundred high resolution texture mods on the Skyrim Nexus within your first 2 minutes.

There's also a thread here that compiles some good ones (https://forums.darklordpotter.net/showthread.php?t=21097), but it's dated.

Anyone else see how AC: Unity on ps4 has supposedly been throttled to keep parody amongst versions?

I say supposedly in regards to the reason, the fact that it is 900p/30fps and that the reason is parody is a quote.

I'd not be surprised if that's due to Microsoft co-marketing the game. That's the popular theory anyway. Kind of annoying since no one gave two shits when the reverse was the case last gen.

Still, the guy from Ubisoft who said it is some special kind of idiot for even bringing it up.

    Article:

    http://www.videogamer.com/ps4/assas...y_is_900p_30fps_on_both_ps4_and_xbox_one.html

They were quick to get out there and 'clarify' the 'misinterpreted' quotes.

    I'm not convinced.

    Parody?

    Or do you mean parity?

I would suggest taking a look at STEP:
    http://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.9

It a step-by-step guide to setting up some mods, what order to install them, what options are recommended. Also included are any extra fixes you need to make to the mods (clean them/remove problematic files). The mods work well together, and are mostly graphics/lore-friendly gameplay changes.

Don't use Nexus Mod Manager. Yes, it makes things really easy - but if you are modding the shit out of the game it isn't adequate. Mod Organizer is better in every way, and plenty easy.

I don't use STEP, but it recommends MO as well.

How heavily do you want it modded (do you want a bunch of changes to the gameplay or just stuff like UI changes, ect) and what are your specs?

I've never had a problem with NMM, and unless they're using 100+ mods for some reason, haven't really heard of anyone else having trouble.

I don't know how NMM works, only used MO. With MO the .bsa files are automatically unpacked, so you don't have to worry about those, and each mod is kept separate, so if you remove a mod that overwrites some files, you don't have to worry about the exact files. (And you can check exactly what files are in conflict with which mods).

Has anyone played Natural Doctrine yet? Does it hold up against the likes of Valkyria, or should I temper my expectations?

So anyone here still playing Wildstar or Elder Scrolls:Online? In the next two or three months I will have quite a bit of time and I thought about playing some good MMO to fill it. I am not that interested in the end-game content since it is something I lack the patience for so I wondered how well designed and entertaining the levelling processes, story telling etc. is.

Play through all the ToR classes if you're only interested in story. It's F2P and a better single player experience.

Wildstar is fantastic, but more focused on MMO-y stuff like end game, mechanics, gearing etc

Have they accelerated the leveling process by now? When I tried it out, I had to do too many boring filler missions in-between the main story missions.

So, Platinum's Korra game is out this week.

I'm taking the total lack of marketing push as a bad sign.

You'd have thought it'd feature heavily at NYCC if they were confident. I've heard nothing.

Dragonball Xenoverse is coming out next year, and it's gonna be on PC. Which I think is fantastic, especially since a little before this announcement I was talking with a friend how sad it was that Naruto games got ported to PC but DB stuff didn't.

hey guys I didn't want to make a new topic for this so I thought I'd ask here

somehow I've been thinking of an old game but I've forgotten it's name maybe you guys can help me.

In this game you started out in a lobby which was basically a cloud world thing if you wanted to play a game you flew to these circles and locked into one of I believe eight spots (could play up to 4v4 or ffa 8 ) and when you got into the game you were on a floating island.

There you build building and towers to protect them and then you build bridges to get to your enemies floating islands to kill them with more of your own towers.

Do any of you guys recognize this ?

I've seen some of the marketing stuff for it. It's a platinum game which means its going to be mechanically sound, have shitty explanations for your abilities or why you should use them, (I'm looking at you metal gear rising and your offensive defense dodge bullshit), and it will be another brawler that is generally liked by the critics and will do middle of the road sales numbers.

Its also going to have some issues with the source material and how it adapts Avatar's bending mechanics. Its going to be set between the seasons so you don't get to do any of the big brawls that we recognize from the series (cough Tenzin fight against zaheer cough).

Honestly if this wasn't a platinum game I wouldn't care about it.

So if anyone was interested in the roguelike fps Paranautical Activity it just came out of early access. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a problem and apparently for a few hours the "now available" banner in the front page still said early access...

So one of the devs flipped the fuck out, went on an angry tirade on twitter culminating in a death threat to Gabe and prompty got the game pulled from steam.

Apparently it's just a two man project... can't imagine how the other guy must feel.

Oh yes, Dark Souls, on PC, is finally transitioning from GFWL to Steamworks for its online, saves and achievements. I don't care very much for achievements, but the other two are fairly good news. Apparently the folks that bought retail versions are gonna receive a Steam key for their copies of the game.

Since I never cared all that much about DaS II, I hope this might revitalize the DaS online community.
