My first thought was Tony Stark + Vader = Iron Sith.

 

It may just be because I"m on a Worm re-read, but Skitter and the Undersiders ending up in the MCU would be interesting. They definitely don't fit the typical crossover mold, being from a grim reality. Their activities, whether criminal or heroic, are done with way different methods than the heroes of the MCU.

 

Well, that's not necessarily out of the question.

Since Vader is basically a cyborg who needs technology to survive, he may need Tony's help.

Especially since he doesn't have an easy access to Star Wars Impossi-Tech (being able to construct something doesn't mean shit if you don't have the magitech parts and components).

In return, Vader could provide some key technological knowledge to Tony, giving him incredible leaps in advancement.

Just imagine the Iron Man with Star Wars hax blasters.

 

Lightsabers, kind sir. Lightsabers. Iron Man wielding a 'saber connected at either wrist, we've got us a genuine contender for General Grievous reborn. Now imagine them powered by his super-duper new-element energy core from IM2.

It would be glorious.

Although I have to admit blasters are more in line with Iron Man's sensibilities. But screw sensibilities, he's an eccentric billionaire!

 

What I meant by blasters is that according to official Star Wars numbers regarding them, they are just as realistic as the official Pokemon numbers. Which is why I said 'hax blasters' because if I recall correctly, a single, typical blaster with official numbers could wipe out an entire city in real life. This is why you leave math to scientists and not writers

Also, if he and Vader would be working together, he'd be stealing Vader's 'thing'.

But, yes, Lightsabers are the true man's choice of weaponry. They are, after all, from a more civilized time.

Frozen and How To Train Your Dragon crossover.

The Viking clans are uniting. The formerly rag tag group of warring and squabbling clans are being brought together to form a single horde, bearing weapons of war not of their own make. The clans that refuse to join the horde are overrun, the survivors adopted forcefully. The civilised world watches warily, unsure of what to make of this behaviour. A summit is called, leaders of the northern kingdoms coming together to discuss the potential threat. Arendelle, ruled by the lovely Queen Sorceress Elsa, is chosen to host it.

On the first day of the summit, Elsa is struck down by a sinister malady, slipping in and out of feverish consciousness--poisoned. On the second day of the summit, the Viking horde lays siege to Arendelle itself. They come on a fleet of longships, some even bearing catapults, to fall upon the strong walls of the city sitting on the peninsula.

For three days, Arendelle holds, but barely. Bolstered by the personal guards of the foreign dignitaries, Princess Anna's forces hold the walls--until they are once again struck at from within. In the dead of night, during a rare lull in the fighting, a postern gate is opened quietly, and hard men in leather armour carrying covered steel slip into the city. They quietly slaughter the tired men stationed at the main gate, and open the way for their fellows. The alarm is raised, but too late, and the Viking horde begins to stream into the city, ready to rape and pillage, while the defenders ready themselves to sell their lives dearly.

Battle amidst the streets is joined--and then a wailing shriek is heard over the city, striking fear into the hearts of the invaders. They know of only one creature that makes such a sound, and they fear both him and his rider. Dragons have come to the land of Arendelle.

 

Attack on Titan AU in which a certain percent ot humans develop Avatar-style bending powers shortly after the first appearance of Titans. The present of this AU would still have the walled city, but instead of soldiers on grappling hooks there would be bender soldiers.
The plot would involve Eren be the Avatar instead of being a human/titan shapeshifter.

 

I've only seen a few episodes of Girls Und Panzer but I recently decided I want to write a Girls Und Pnazer fic.

Basically I want to imagine what would happen if WW3 broke out. The fact is, when it comes to the Japanese having to raise armoured divisions to fend of the North Koreans (and whoever else is the bad guys in this) they'll go to the girls who participate in Tankery first rather than train soldiers from the ground up in armoured warfare.

My idea is that the story would follow them from recruitment to a shortened armoured school where they mostly do a armoured tactic refresher followed by combined arms training (they never work with infantry or air support or anything else during Tankery battles so they have to learn the change in tactics) and then they get deployed.

In this I imagine the limited use of nuclear weapons. In real life an all out nuclear exchange is more likely but that would ruin the story if everyone dies at the start so I will pretty much limit it to the occasional nuking of military divisions, naval battlegroups and fortifications.

My intention is to pretty much portray it as war is a necessity when dealing with those not interested in diplomacy and war is Hell.

I've actually seen a story running on that line. I'm drawing a blank on the name, but it was Naruto showing up in Avatar-land halfway through the first season of Legend of Korra and things getting quickly out of hand IIRC. It's been like a year since I read it though, so it's fuzzy. All I really remember for sure is liking it a lot.

That gif really shows the difference. While both stories are flawed, one cannot deny that the Avatar state has a certain dignity to it, a level of absolute coolness. It demands respect and awe. Compare that with Naruto's lightbulb form, he just looks silly.

Speaking of TLOK, a story focusing on the six months of Korra travelling the world with her bending messed up and the avatar state locked down would be interesting. Especially if the story would differ and she had to deal with shit that way and used other means to succeed.

 

I can hella deny that. Naruto's bijuu cloak is my favorite part of the entire world war arc. The connection to the Sage of Sixth Paths with all the little designs and hair horns is fantastic.

 

Yeah, Naruto and Sasuke's recent power ups have looked cool as shit, ignoring all the other stuff.

 

All things considered I think this ending to Naruto is as good as it could be at this point. Yes, the train has repeatedly jumped the tracks. Yes, we have passed through crazy land. Repeatedly, I think. But at least we get Naruto being the super badass messianic character we always wanted him to be.

If I were writing this I definitely would have handled things differently. Kishimoto is the type of storyteller who comes up with a lot of great ideas, but then fails to fit them together cohesively. We've been flying by the seats of our pants and it's been a frustrating ride. But shit, at least we have a character we enjoy rooting for at this point. Between VotE and the Pein arc we didn't have that at all.


Okay, enough about that. Plot bunny time.

Naruto not knowing anything about his Uzumaki heritage is frankly a major goof that never was explained in any kind of satisfactory way.

Plot bunny is: Naruto is brought up aware of the once powerful Uzumaki clan and regularly attends to his family shrine. No, this is NOT yet another "Naruto becomes a seal master" story. At the family shrine Naruto learns the purposes of all of the different masks and how to use them.

With each mask comes a power. The ability to talk to the dead. The ability to become invisible to the naked eye. The ability to walk through walls. And so on.

The power of these masks would of course come through fuinjutsu. Eventually, Naruto goes past learning how to use the masks and figures out how to reverse engineer them, gaining the powers that these masks hold, perhaps as ninjutsu or perhaps as seals that he inscribes on his body or on a mask of his own creation.

 

OK buddy, how is that not 'Naruto becomes another seal master'? I dont dislike the idea but you cant say its not what it is.

 

It is not 'Naruto becomes a seal master' story in the sense that. He did not create the seals that on the masks. And he observes them. Sees how the chakra acts and imitates the effects using hand seals. Not fuinjutsu. Anyway it has been done before. I dont remember the name. But Naruto finds the shrine and his heritage accidentaly. And the mask allows the user to control the different aspects of death. Though he did not try to imitate it without the mask.

 

He isn't a seal master, just someone who analyzes and uses ridiculously complicated seals. Totally different.

 

He's not a pervert seal master, he's a super pervert seal master!

 

I'd appreciate some credit in having an idea that would be very different from the countless seal master fics we've seen out there, regardless of whether I explained it clearly enough for others to see how the tale would play out. I don't have enough time or energy to argue my case. So go ahead and snark, but since none of you are currently producing any (wind) chakras I think I can weather the storm.
