Which is something we've been suggesting from the start, but maybe now a dialogue can be opened?

I honestly no longer care at this point. If people don't care about archiving, which they have bitched at me in the past for not updating and stickying, then by all means. Just expect this to be precedent for the future.

With that being said, if people want to talk about it being classified as "mini games" then that's exactly what they should be. Their player lists should not come anywhere close to what a normal game has previously run, or it would be unfair to those mods, right? that was one of your selling points? putting these games on the queue/in another thread would be unfair to them? So, let's talk about the size of player lists in those games. I know Eido ran like a 9 player game or something, so how do people feel about 7 player maximum? If you're truly looking for "mini games" that go quick and easy?

I would say just make a little sub folder called "Mini-Games" Or "Quick & Dirty Filler" or something like that.

The games aren't vetted like the queue games so they don't have to have the same balance\etc. Maybe some of them will be trial runs or tests. Maybe the folder could be "Experimental Filler." I would say don't put any rules yet? See how things go and then if needed make rules?

Also, I saw two other mafia sites and not be rude but I hated them in an irrational way because they were like a step-parent or something. So yay go DLP mafia.

Well it's more like these games already behave by the rules of mafia games, so where does that leave us. If the definition of minigames that people want to accept includes "shorter mafia games" what is the point of upkeep?

What part of anything I've said makes you think I have the authority to create new subforums?

Ok let me make that clearer. I do not have the authority to do that, and it's been my policy to explicitly avoid having to go outside the subforum for any kind of moderation action.

Would it make sense to either ask for the authority or to ask someone to make the sub-folder?

Was Zeit able to make folders? Maybe you need to have his powers since he's been awol for a while?

Just to be clear too: What we're saying is not that we don't care about archiving games.
We don't care about archiving FILLER games. Those you can just ignore while we keep them to one thread. Does that make sense?

I apologize, I assumed all mods did. To be fair, before this point I didn't think you were saying you didn't.

Oh so how do you feel about having a sub-folder that is just for mini or filler games? That way the main thread isn't cluttered and the filler don't have to be archived?

Maybe Lucky can ask the mods to make the folder and you don't even have to worry about it? Like its an "enter at your own risk" kind of place?

I'm honestly deciding on my own if I want to change my personal policy of keeping little italy self contained.

Ok, I'm not exactly sure what that means or what the impact is.

I do wish we had Zeit or someone to be acting moderator while he's away so that you had someone to discuss this kind of stuff with.

I know the decision was cut short last time but maybe having someone like Bill or Riley or whoever wanted to do it and knew lots of mafia stuff and was even tempered could take over Zeit's job until he comes back or further notice?

What it means is that I'm deciding whether I want to start going to the mods with requests. That's all it means, you're reading too much into it.

And honestly, I wouldn't mind having a second person, like Delphine.

    You people ... :|

I haven't been able to keep an eye on this forum, much less do any actual work due to RL constraints. I'm not entirely sure, but I suspect the other DLP Mods didn't either. So you basically had this to yourself, and now that I look at how it turned out, I'm dissatisfied with a few things.

That being as it may, however, Lexi has been given authority over this forum, and last time I looked, that included making decisions, so stop bitching. She can't create sub-forums (and neither can I, for that matter) -- that's Admin stuff.

And now I'm going to play catch-up.

It's never wise to comment before you've caught up, but have at it, I suppose.

Oh, #teamDelphineMod, if it matters. It's a good idea.

It might be more appropriate for someone who's been in this subforum longer to be the stand-in mod? I'm not unwilling to do it though.

Well, in the end, it's actually not our decision. I can propose a nomination to the Admins, but I can't give her the authority that Zeit had.

    I think Rubicon'd be a good nomination?
