Even before crazy plot twists started popping up. Sasuke killed Orochimaru, Deidara, and Itachi. Took down Danzo and saved Konoha the trouble of doing it, ended the Edo Tensei, brought valuable reinforcements for the war, and was instrumental in fighting Obito, Madara, and Kaguya.

Doesn't matter what they're doing. The primary definition of ninja is someone who uses ninjutsu. Like in One Piece anyone who sails under a pirate flag is a pirate regardless of if they actually do any pirating. The only grey areas would be monks and samurai and I'd just stick ninja in front of their titles.

 

I remember when Naruto was about a no-name orphan who was shunned by his village for carrying the monster that almost destroyed the village, and where hard work and determination mattered more than destiny or what bloodline you're from.

 

Pity that Kishi eventually gave him the Uzimaki bloodline.

 

I didn't follow the manga that closely for a while now, what's the Uzumaki bloodline?

 

Lots of chakra, lots of stamina, lots of healing, lots of sensing, and these nifty chains if you're lucky.

 

Naruto unlocks the seal and fight 9 tails and meets his mom's avatar she explains that she was the original jinchuriki btw Uzumaki poses a bloodline that allows them to live longer than normal and hold biju better then anyone.
Finally a time travel fic that involves epilogue Sakura, Sasuke, Naruto, and Hinata.
The author wrote "Lewd New World"(I think thats the name.) It's a parody but I think it's well written.

This one I found the other day seems alright. Short version is that post-4th War Naruto and friends get together and commence drunken shenanigans, that culminate in a... "fuinjutsu experiment", landing pretty much the entirety of the younger main cast back something like 25-30 years in the past, like a week after the Yondaime took up the office.

It's not a gutbuster or anything, but the author's got a decent sense of humor and the story revels in its absurdity, which makes it fun to read.

Anbu-Training-Mission

a Fun little, not even one shot. But kinda fun idea.

 

That... is bloody brilliant. I kinda wanna see someone run with that and make a full story about Naruto's Adventures in ANBU Silliness or something.

 

I missed this one when I went through and did a re-read of this guy's work the other day so thanks for reminding me.

It gets a bit muh Vengeance at times but people might enjoy this one: The Cost of Living.

It's a Naruto is raised by Kakuzu as a bounty hunter and it is complete. It's a decent enough time waster and I enjoyed it well enough when it was being written.

 

I've recommended this before on the forum but now it is complete and a sequel is being written. Shadows of Konoha stars Naruto fresh out of the 4th Shinobi War, but still horribly naive about the depressing reality around him. He is inducted reluctantly into ANBU by Tsunade in an attempt to mold him into a successor for Hokage. He goes from recruit to squad leader to captain and so on, and his naivety is chipped away bit by bit.

I'd give this about a 3.5 but it's complete and has a massive word count and interesting ideas . The first ten or so chapters where Naruto is a naive recruit is admittedly annoying , but lays a foundation for the much improved meat of the story . As far as power leveling, Naruto is confirmed as one of the world's strongest, but as the author put it, he is placed in situations akin to a "Level 50 Charizard vs a Level 25 Squirtle." PS: The sequel follows Sasuke in the same world, and we find he is responsible for some of the events mentioned in the first story . It is a difficult read, because Sasuke has become a homosexual sociopath mainly due to exposure to a pedophile Orochimaru. Still interesting, but I have to skim a lot because it's just not my cup of tea .

 

I vaguely recall reading that one long ago and giving up on it as... too stupid I think? Possible I might be confusing it with another story so will give it a try later. Skimming through chapter one doesn't exactly fill me with confidence for the quality of the story though.
