I'd love one of these consistent legendaries you're offering! I've run arena six times since gvg and only had legendary once.

 

That's odd, because I've had Dr.Boom, Ragnaros, and Kel'thuzad over the last two days. I also seem to run into a lot more Legendaries, with Dr.Boom being the most prevalent for some reason.

 

Fuck you guys I've only ever had 3 Legendaries in arenas. Ever.

 

Your luck is awful then. I'm short on gold these days so I've been laddering without any new cards. Worgen OTK still works apparently. That deck is a blast.

 

Last 3 opponents in arena had all legendaries and that was at 2-3 wins. A priest with Foe Reaper, that I facelessed and killed only to be immediately stolen by Mind control. Warrior with Sneed's Shredder, repeated the process, but as he can't steal it back I won and last a Druid with Cairne, though I lost that one because of Kezan Mystic. So a 3-3 was the result.

 

Arena is really weird at the moment. Anything that looks like a deck with a proper mana curve goes 5 tops, anything that looks lopsided ends up on 7+ - like my 10-3 mage of last night and my current 8-1 Priest, which has only the 2/3 Trogg, Lightwarden (possibly) and two Smites + 2 Pains for 1-2 drops. (And a cleric, of course, but playing that on 1 just stinks.)

 

My own anecdotal evidence also confirms a lot of variance in the outcomes of Arena runs. I had two very successful runs and a handful of average-to-bad ones. The problem is: I can't seem to predict which draft will do well and which won't. Before GvG the drafts almost always were pretty clear on how far you'd go. Now a seemingly great draft will fizzle out at 2 wins and a mediocre one goes to 9.

The very next draw was Siege Engine which I was able to buff to 10 attack thanks to the Armorsmith combo.

So I was wondering, who are the highest ranked players on DLP?

I just got to rank 12 recently; sure, not amazing, but it's a good feeling surpassing what you could do before!

 

Used to be legend, but just don't find the motive/time so I'm a rank 8 scrub atm.

The same here. Even if you have the ability to get Legend, you have to play hundreds of games in a month to reach it. I simply don't have the time (or motivation) for more than maybe a handful of games per day (on average).

 

Went to legend, but pretty much only play constructed either to fuck around or to farm money for arena. I think I'm rank 11 or 12 atm.

 

I've never pushed past 3. Takes too damn long. I don't have gvg cards yet, so I'm going to ladder exclusively with dragonmaster druid and otk warrior this season and see how far that will take me. Rank 9 right now.

 

I only play constructed for the quests to get gold for arena, think I hit level 14 at one point.
Also just want the card back.

 

I usually finish the season around rank 9. Currently sitting at rank 14 because I've been playing more arena to get the GvG cards. Once I get enough cards then I will create a couple of decks and try for Legend.

 

A zoodeck is still pretty effective for breezing through the lower ranks. (Just tried it. Winstreaked through multiple ranks until I lost a game to another zoo.)

I can only recommend it for people who are still struggling in the teen ranks. Take all the good common 1-4 drops and put them in a warlock deck.
Those games are over quite quickly, which is good if you want to climb ranks.

A zoodeck with a 60% winrate will take you to Rank 5 far more quickly than a control deck with a 65% winrate that takes 2-3 times longer per game.
Over Rank 5 you're unlikely to have a winrate >55% anyway. (Unless you get lucky or are seriously talented.) So at that point it might be better to switch to your best deck.

 

So in 5 games today, I have had a guy roll a deathwing off Old Shredder, and Antonidas off Unstable Portal.... I think the game hates me.

 

Unstable portal, I swear that card is rigged. I managed to get a legendary 7 times in a row.
