It's a pretty decent time travel fic. Nagato destroys the rinnegan before he dies and Tobi uses a time travel jutsu to fix the event. However the only ones who have their memories are the jinchuriki.

 

I just remembered that this was also a Tobirama!Naruto story.

Didn't Obito already have a plan for that? Sasuke was suppose to be his backup in case Nagato didn't work out.

 

Not quite. He made some comment to that effect, but he needed the Gedo Mazo -- one of the few abilities Sasuke didn't have.

 

Sasuke was going to be the backup in the sense that Obito was trying to get Sasuke to awaken the Rinnegan. That's why he sold him out at the summit and transplanted Itachi's eyes into him. He was planning to hook him up to the Gedo Mazo later and pump him full of Hashirama cells.

 

Reading Not Sick. About halfway through. Surpisingly good. If quality is maintained, I will post in For Review (if it's not already there) when I'm done.

 

Yeah, I liked what I read of that. Was kind of irritated how Jiraiya vs Obito turned out. It's not like he's still a kid like when he fought Minato. He shouldn't have been embarrassed like that. Also Jiraiya just knowing he wasn't Madara seemed like BS.

 

The one gripe I have with the fic is that battles go in often questionable ways. It's not too ridiculous, but it's noticeable.

Every author has their own take on how ninjutsu works and how characters stack up with each other. I've seen far worse, even from rec'd fics.

 

I'm looking for some decent Orochimaru, or Danzo as Hokage fics or a different take on the Uchiha coup. I read Life in Konoha's ANBU and Not Sick are the only one's of their kind?

It centers on a time traveling Sasuke who goes back to right before the Uchiha coup. The only problem is that future!Sasuke is from right before he learned the truth of what happened and ends up putting events in motion that make things worse.

 

I have read that one. It seems that the author has gone on an indefinite hiatus though.

 

There are a few others out there that I'm aware of, but I'd be no more able to track them down than you. I've only seen the summaries pop up a few times while browsing. I'm generally not big on those types of stories.

It's Shadenight123, so expect a bit of grimdark just for the sake of grimdark. Worth checking out for the cool ideas and the plot that keeps rolling along (it's never boring), but you might find yourself turned off rather early by all the shit that happens just because Shadenight likes shitting in Naruto's oatmeal.

I noticed the number of favorites in my list on FFnet decreased. Not really an issue, there's a lot of crap in there. Then I realized what disappeared and I am disappointed. I had high hopes for this one. Chapter 4 was really good.

Looks like the author pulled all her works.

 

Just under 500k words in less than 5 months? Impressive if nothing else, off to give it a go.

 

It was one of his first so the English in it is particularly bad. The quality of the writing does improve.
