Apparently MGS Ground Zeroes for PC is a wonder to behold, in terms of optimization, as it runs at a stable framerate, with high graphic settings, even on toasters.

Sorry, haven't given that a shot, nor will I most likely, not unless they get rid of that always-online requirement. From what I recall, quite a lot of people lashed out when they announced the dropping of their offline mode for the game.

That said, I have been enjoying myself the past day or so with Dawn of War 2 - Retribution, and marveling at the visual details of the Elite mod as far as the Traitor Legions are concerned. Still wish it worked with The Last Stand though.

And speaking of 40k vidya, anyone have an idea when we might be getting the next Dawn of War game, or has Sega, and consequently Relic, dropped that?

Relic/Sega still has the rights to the franchise and there are consistent rumours that they are working on it but no hard information. The best we got is that the development team at Relic is much bigger than needed for the current CoH 2 stuff.

I personally think/hope that with CoH2 out and running they got enough cash/time to develop it...

And Now I haven´t played Elite - I am not the biggest fan of such open world games and while it looks very pretty (and works well from what I hear) it lacks depth (at least from I see/gather from vids etc.). I want stories, interesting characters and places etc. and not a million randomly generated worlds and factions.

I've got sort of a generic question, though this may not be the right thread. I've been playing DA3, got about 60 hours of gameplay, but suddenly the game crashed, and I think is corrupted - it won't load past the main screen. I have the game downloaded, no physical disc. Now, my question is, if i re-download the game, will it get rid of my saves? Xbox one btw

Unless Microsoft is more retarded than I thought, it shouldn't.

You might be able to back them up on a flash drive or something if you're worried though.

Utterly ridiculous. You can play the game solo and there's zero latency issues. Are people lashing out at anti-piracy measures?

    Really?

I understand it with a lot of console games, where the performance is hampered because of it, but that's just not the case. I can speak from a position of authority here too, I'm in Australia and there's zero server/ latency issues.

Either way, it's a really good game. A bit 'grimey' unfortunately, in a realistic way, but I think I'll much prefer the less realistic and more colourful No Man's Sky.

Considering getting a Throttle and Stick just to play this.

Not everyone has a 100% stable internet. Personally, I have no idea what the game's server is like, if it's fickle as Ubisoft's used to be or not. And this isn't an anti-piracy measure, according to the Elite devs, so get off that soap boax, because you can just go ahead and ask Ubisoft about how that worked out for one of the titles in the AC franchise, where it turned out they sold a lower number of copies on PC, because surprise surprise people don't like to be fucked around with the always-online requirement. Look, even if the servers for the game are good, there's always unforeseen circumstances where your internet isn't up to its top notch and then you get screwed over if you wanted to play your game that you paid for.

Or, because people didn't want to buy another buggy AC PC port? (Or just buggy Ubisoft game in general, at this point).

Whatever, if you don't want to play a perfectly good and solid game, I'm not going to waste my energy. You're the one losing out. Keep fighting the good fight.

I want to play Elite Dangerous though. I grew up with those games, Frontier being my favorite. The trouble is I have extremely shitty internet for the time being (WiFi and receiver/antenna issues), have had it for the past month or so in fact.

Games with an always-online component, or multiplayer, simply aren't a possibility for me now.

Dunno what to tell you. The servers are obviously in Europe and I have zero latency that I'm aware of. Where I'm from, all online games have noticeable latency, so I don't even know how this game is online, or how it connects when playing solo.

Maybe it's a ping thing every so often that updates data for your universe, I dunno.

Man, I just played through FO: New Vegas again (glory unto caesar! this playthrough), and I'm bout to spark up FO3.

Holy fucking fuck I can't wait for Fallout 4, even though all signs (read: the lackthereof, other than its existence) points towards 2016.

Pillars of Eternity release date is set for March 26.

Heh, and to think that I paid for that game like 2 years ago.

Just because they all have RPG in their game description does not make them equal. Or even the same genre for that matter.

    Wut.

I do not think you could have picked two types of games more different than an old school story based CRPG and the co-op dungeon clearing farmfest of Diablo and PoE.

I think you might be confusing Torment: Tides of Numenera with PoE.

Or they're both being hailed as spiritual successors to PS:T.
