Has blizzard removed the paypal option? Or am I missing it?

 

What are the chances that both of my Shredders would give Nerubian Eggs in the same game?

 

So for some damn reason I decided to give this game another shot. (even though I detest TCG's as a ganre)

All I could think of was that Bill Hicks marketing bit but with "People who play mages" replacing "People who work in marketing"

 

I just finished a Rogue arena run 10-3!

I started 1-2 and it was looking like my best class pre-GvG was on its way to becoming my weakest class in GvG with my second 1-3 Rogue arena run looming over me.

Here are my stats with 15 arena runs post GvG launch.

 

There are 51 minions costing 2 mana if I counted correctly - not including tokens, and I'm fairly sure that those can't get pulled anyway. That'd make it a 1 in 2601 chance.

Pretty good deck - good amount of Rogue's early removal cards and a decent amount of lategame. Picks look on point too - there's one or two I wouldn't have made perhaps, but that's nitpicking. (Ogre Magi and Flesheating Ghoul to be exact.)

Rogue is probably my weakest class in Arena, and I have no idea why. I thought about adding Hunter to that bottom tier as well, but I just went 12-1 with one, so Rexxar's saved from that for now.



Bit less consistent draw than I'd've liked, though I am not complaining about Cult Master + Unleash - which I did all of once. Went 0-1, then 12-0. Imp Master and Defender of Argus are surprisingly good on the synergy.

 

Say, I'd appreciate it if one of our local Hearthstone wizards could give me some advice. Nothing terrible, just a draft over Skype and some coached matches, etc.

 

Ogre Magi actually did work for me a good amount in my run with its synergy. Add in the fact that as a Rogue I can dagger up on turn 2 if needed so having fewer 2 drops doesn't hurt me.

Flesheating Ghoul was dead-weight in my deck and looking back I'd rather had picked up the Frostwolf Warlord.

 

Flesheating is one of those cards I really want to work, but it just gets removed too easily. Warlord was awesome in my deck (I managed to get it to 10/10 twice), but with two unleashes, an Imp Master and even a Violet Teacher, filling the board to 6/6 or 7/7 territory is pretty easy.

 

I am kinda limited on when I can actually do skype, but spectating is easy enough. Ronin#1366 if you want to add me. I am pretty decent, so I can try to give you a hand.

Is it me or is the meta in arena really aggro right now?

 

Seems like more of the same midrangy crap as always as far as I can tell.

 

So I finally got a GvG legendary from an arena pack and there's a "nice" story how I got him. So I was playing against a mage and it was do or die. I was at 2 hp, but had board and taunt up and he plays Frost Elemental and Unstable portal. I could kill it, but as he still had a lot of HP I had to risk leaving it up to set up for lethal next turn. And he plays a 6 mana Mekgineer Thermaplugg, kills off his Frost Elemental on my Taunt and pings the Leper Gnome that spawned.

That ended my run at 6-3 and when I open the pack what do I get? Mekgineer Thermaplugg.

Workin' on getting my first GvG packs through arena. Generally I wait it out until I hit 40 packs stocked up, and then open them all it once. Also, increasing my gold bank. Hittin' 3k soon, so that's neat.

 

The meta everywhere has become far more aggro since GvG. My control priest tends to fizz around by rank 15-10, so in a fit of anger I built a Mech Hunter and won my first game on turn four. I'm a little peeved that 2 minutes of throwing cards together was better than 2 months of careful preparation.

 

I'm also seeing quite a few Echo of Medivh mages around rank 15 as of late.

 

Met one at rank 12, he proceeded to play 2 Moltens and Sunfury Protector and repeated the process after Echo of Medivh. Luckily I knew what I was against and saved that sweet Brawl just for this. His Molten Giant won, Sylvanas stole it and the mage surrendered.

I have to say though, looking at 4 8/8 dudes across the board isn't the most pleasant view. If you don't have burst or reach it seems an annoying deck to play against or it seems to me, but I play only CW currently so can't really say.

 

So my arena opponent just managed to commit suicide in a spectacular way! He was about to win, when he threw down an Auchenai Soulpriest, then attacked me with a mistress of pain.

So this was crazy: when the mistress of pain attacks, it tries to heal him for 1. The soulpriest converts that one heal into damage, which then makes the mistress of pain register that it's dealt more damage, so it tries to heal him again... loop endlessly. What a way to go.

 

I have got to test that.
