Glad to hear this. Numerous reasons:

    - it was Multiplayer. 4vs1

    - by the team on SWTOR. News is they are getting ready to go crazy with something due to Episode 7.

-it was multiplayer. Bioware is inherently story based. Their games with MP (aside from Inquisition) seem weaker if they have MP.

    - the viral ad was boring.

EA is working on Battlefront with Volition working on another unannounced SW title (written by Amy Hening, who wrote Uncharted 1 and 3).

Maybe they'll make a game to coincide with the stand-alone movie, which I'd be happier with. I don't want too much saturation (unless it's TFU3 XD).

So I just watched the new Disgaea 5 trailer. I'll preface this question by saying I've never played a Disgaea game before.

Is Disgaea very similar in mechanics to FF Tactics? The trailer makes the gameplay look very similar.

If so that's a good thing, but it's hard to tell from the trailer. It certainly looks like small grid-based maps in an SJRPG format though.

Essentially the same deal, yes. Disgaea is a bit more complicated in a few ways, but if you enjoyed Final Fantasy Tactics then you ought to enjoy it too.

Hnng, Disgaea 5... with Bloodborne coming out, and Persona 5 and now Disgaea 5, PS4 is getting more and more relevant for me to buy.

But Disgaea <3 I love those games, played all the Playstation titles. The thing is, the art and mechanics have went up with every game, but the story has went down. Nothing has quite been on Laharl's level, and none of the other protagonists have even wanted to become an Overlord. That was always disappointing for me. Hoping this one will be different. I'd really like an English translation of what was said, but it seems to be about revenge?

Sounds awesome. With that, P5 and FF15 this year I might just fall back in love with JRPGs.

It's actually looking lile FF15 won't be this year. Tabata just released a statement saying that they're only at 60% completion, up from september's 55%.

At the very least, the 'Ground Zeroes' of 15 is out imminently. Maybe type-0 will be good too.

Total War: Attila has been a blast so far. It's what Rome II should have been.

And so we mourn the end of an era as the mighty tri-Ace is bought by a shitty mobile game company. Why Square Enix didn't pick them up to help push FF15 out the door, I cannot fathom.

Goodbye Star Ocean PS4 pipe dream. You were so beautiful.

Meh, it's not like we don't have a very scrumptious list of jrpgs to look forward to. This despite the fact Japan just doesn't give a shit about consoles anymore - it's all mobile games.

If you really want someone to blame, I'd guess the Japanese consumer more than the narrow minded JDevs that don't realize most people like JRPGs for their non-westerness.

I don't blame devs at all. They go where the money is. I blame the worldwide horde of douche-nuggets who made the microtransaction scheme a viable business model.

Which is why I said blame the consumer before them.

The devs do go for the easy buck with mobile games. I'll not get angry about that until From or Atlus stop making spectacular games though.

I've played some of the games these ex-JRPG devs have made for mobile. If that's the limit of their ambition? Quite frankly, good riddance.

Persona is getting more popular with every game. If P5 does gangbusters, I'll not be shocked to see more devs jump back on the bandwagon, for better or worse.

But yeah, I blame consumers. Mostly. Not entirely :p

Really? I know the Horde, Family and Titles Trees and other mechanics were pretty great in paper, but do they work? How is the immersion? It's been my biggest problem since Shogun 2 with TW games. That and the bugs. God, those buggy messy excuses for a game. Anything in special?

Looking forward to the mods too.

Really, really looking forward to Everyone's Gone to Rapture and No Man Sky, hope they're out by the end of the year with no delays.

I'm not sure how into walking simulators I am, but it certainly looks interesting and just gorgeous.

Been playing a lot of Elite: Dangerous. Enough to know that if NMS delivers on what's promised, I'll adore it.

Still the most excited about Rime and Persona 5 though. Overwatch too, but doubtful that that's this year.

Anyone here a Homeworld fan? I just noticed the remastered edition, and I was wondering if anyone here has played it.
