Not going very good at the moment. I might have to change it up deck wise because I ran into a lot of anti-face Hunter decks yesterday. The tipping point came when I got steamrolled by a Priest late last night.

In Blackrock Mountain news, 2 new cards have been revealed:

It looks like we are getting 2 class cards instead of the 1 we got in Naxx.

Might just be an arena thing. I've never played WoW so I couldn't tell you how many phases in Blackrock there are but if there are 18 class cards then that leaves little space for the left over 13ish neutrals since they said its around 31 or something. I'd like to see more class cards though, too many minions makes the game more boring in arena.

    Edit:
Never mind, hopefully a good portion of the 18 class cards will be spells.

Can anyone link to a good hunter deck? Couldn't quite find what I was looking for on hearthhead.

Midrange or face? There's control too, but I'm assuming you actually want to win a couple games.

I went from 20 to 2 with this deck.

Hunters are my worst matchup this season (4/8, 4/5 vs Facehunter, as seen above, 0/3 vs Midrange). I guess it's karma for all the times I did the same.

Why the Leaper? 3/3 for 3 with no other mechs in the deck just seems bad. Or does it also count as a beast?

Edit: never mind. Hearthpwn was just displaying all the hunter cards for me. Now I feel like a fool.

I decided to save up around 1200 gold for arena when BM goes live. That way I could do a couple of runs per wing release. I'm using extra gold to buy Classic packs to try to complete the set. The second pack that I bought contained King Mukla.

2 more BM cards have been released:

I'm hoping they will eventually allow you to pick which pack you get after an arena run. There are so many of the basic set that I am missing.

So I'm in Nvidia's amateur tournament and they have a different setup than most tourneys. Instead of last Hero standing, it's a best of five where the winning deck retires and you must win with all three of your decks. So here's my question. Should I take what I consider to be my best three decks (Midrange Pally, Face Hunter, Mech Mage) or should I use 3 decks which are built to counter decks that everyone's going to play, i.e. Fatigue mage against Mech mage?

The second strategy will lose to the other two decks the other player is playing but will guarantee three wins against anyone with Mech mage. The first has more of a chance against a mix of decks.

That's the new Conquest format. Should become the main format soon.

Since your every deck needs to win, you have to pick all-around strong decks that you would say, ladder with. Countering the popular decks is honestly too risky, since you need to win with ALL of them. When you run into a player who plays the not so popular but still strong decks, you could just get crushed.

I figured that I'd try some fatigue decks in the early stages where people don't have the dust for more control oriented dust and move to my stronger decks as the competition gets tougher, but a mix is probably better.

How many players? And can you modify or change decks? Like if it's against people who don't even have all the good cards... obviously a judgement call xD If you know it's like rank 5 people playing suboptimal decks, you can definitely play around that. I'm thinking that decks you bring to an amateur tournament early rounds with hundreds of people and top 8 pro tournament are pretty different. Could always just use the decks you're most comfortable with yourself.

    Also, that's awesome, and congratulations!

You can change decks between rounds, but must announce the decks to the opponent. The game schedule is here:
    Round 1: Thursday, March 26th
    Round 2: Thursday, April 2nd
    Round 3: Thursday, April 9th
    Round 4: Thursday, April 16th
    Round 5: Thursday, April 23rd
    Round 6: Thursday, April 30th
    Round 7: Thursday, May 7th
    Round 8: Thursday, May 14th

After that the amateur list is down to 16, and the remaining play against proffesional players (The likes of Kolento, Firebat, Trump).

    Here are the prizes:
    Prize Money and Breakdown:

    • 1st: $10,000 100 qualification points for the Hearthstone World Championship
    • 2nd: $5,000 50 qualification points for the Hearthstone World Championship
    • 3rd/4th: $1,500 20 qualification points for the Hearthstone World Championship
    • 5th-8th: $750 10 qualification points for the Hearthstone World Championship
    • 9th-16th: $500
I've gotten an email saying that I've been accepted and that my first match is on the 26th and that they'll announce my opponent once they've sorted everything out.

Put together a old school Warlock Zoo deck.

Had forgotten how fun it is when opponents just concede on turn 5.

This. People try to get cute in tournaments a lot, and a straight up beatdown can go a long ways towards punishing greedier decks.

Read that in a tournament format something like freeze mage, face hunter and druid are the best. Paladin and Facehunter are quite strong though so those two are solid. An antiaggro deck should be good enough to round it out.
