    Unlikely but not impossible

I think he showed a minor resistance to them at the world cup, that is, he was just less affected than Ron and some others. There is no point in Canon at Hogwarts where there is actually an auror, that's just Fleur being so astoundingly beautiful that people trip over themselves trying to talk to her.

I for one am actually happy to play this one up in fanon though.

I believe I mentioned this in some other thread, but Fleur does seem to have some ability related to allure(or whatever you want to call it). The scene in GoF where Ron was walking by when Fleur was trying to ask Cedric to the dance and he got caught up in it resulting in him asking her to the ball.

Harry does show some degree of immunity after his first exposure to Veelas. There is a scene in GoF after the Quidditch WC where Stan Shunpike and a few others are trying to impress some veelas and even Ron loses control but not Harry who along with Hermione drag him away.
His self-control is even commented upon by Hermione in HBP I believe. I may be wrong. But there is enough evidence in canon regarding this.

^Pet peeve ; seeing Fleur written as Fluer. Makes me think of Fluor, which is french for Fluoride (like in toothpaste) and is extremely jarring when reading an otherwise interesting story. :fire

As far as I'm concerned anytime a character's name is misspelled it is annoying.

I got this from the profile of a fanfiction author. It lists some of the general peeves commonly found in fanfiction :

    Yeah those are pretty accurate.

    But,
I've never ever seen this. Why would someone write this, it takes more characters than the actual word.

I'm with Ghost and Hero on this, I've never seen anyone spell it that way. Why would they do that anyhow, it doesn't shorten the number of characters in any way, it actually takes more characters.

According to the ever dependable Urban Dictionary, it's a quick way of saying 'anyway'.

Yeah. I don't get it either, something I'm quite thankful for.

To give my 2 cents in, + and = don't make sense, but - before a line I think is common in some countries like Russia. Example

    This:

    -Dialogue dialogue.

is also the convention in Poland. We use quotation marks for framing other stuff, I guess using them for dialogue as well would look jumbled.

Personally, I haven't used hyphens for dialogue in years. I remember my teacher in high school telling me not to do that.

Then again, if the use of proper English grammar is expected when you write in that language, I I should think using the accepted dialogue format for English is also expected.

I Brazil this THE way to write dialogue:

    Character stuff stuff:
    - Dialogue dialogue

All books are either written this way or translated like this. In literature classes we were forbidden to write the other way unless when writing thoughts. It was pretty jarring to me to read the English standar way.

    - Dialogueblahblahblah in France.

    Same in China.

I guess the quotation marks "" stuff is an anglo-saxon exception. :sherlock:

Dumbledore bashing annoys me. Not so much because of how prevalent it is but because of how far people take it with him. His manipulativeness and narcissism were already dialed up to 11 in the books and fic writers just double down to the point where he's infuriating. It just makes it tiring to see it over and over. Wasn't there an Independent board in the Library years ago? I guess maybe I'm not the only one that got tired of that fic trope.

The worst part is that they make Dumbledore incompetent. If Dumbledore was evil, a fifteen year old would have a better chance of life by taking a nap in a woodchipper than deulling Dumbledore with either wands or words.

Indeed. I for one would find it strangely interesting to read an Evil Competent Dumbledore, if only for the novelty of it.
