There might be a thread on it, but let me just say: the best multiplayer game for the PS4 is Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare.

It's all online, which may be a deal-breaker for some, but since Playstation made it a freebie for PS Plus members in December, the game grew by leaps and bounds. There is always a good game going.

One of the best things about it is its customization. Playing the game and earning coins lets you buy packs which reward you with new characters, abilities, taunts after killing other players and tons of ways to decorate your characters.

Base characters are improved upon as you earn coins but you open up new versions of each; for example, you start with a Sunflower, but you end up with a Fire Flower, Power Flower, Mystic Flower, and so on. My favorite character, the Scientist, also has the Chemist, the Marine Biologist, the Archaeologist, etc.

Each character has unique abilities, but what makes it great is that your opponents can use them together to dominate you. I play with a Chemist and two-or-three shot kill people, but I have to be up close to them to do it; that means a good Chomper can swallow me or a group of players can easily gang up on me.

I have put up the highest score I've ever seen on the game (in 10v10) which is (iirc) 27. I had 7,200 points and something like 21 straight. Then again, if you aren't prepared for a warping Scientist that three shots you (and everyone around you), you're bound to get owned.

You can revive and heal your teammates (with the proper characters) and are given coins for breaking down enemy barriers or proximity mines or shooting down their drones. There's nothing like killing five straight and running into a Potato mine.

TL;DR: Highly rec'd for PS4 owners and you definitely need to add me as a friend (even if you don't play this game my tag is theRoyLT)

    Ugh, hated it.

If you like horde mode a la ME3 though, you'll probably like this too.

I don't think it was ps+ though, was it? I think EA made it free over e3 or gamescom last year.

    Helldivers is better :p

Try Galactic Civilizations 2, it's a fantastic game.

Not sure what kind of state GalCiv 3 is currently in, since it's Early Access on Steam, so avoid that for the time being.

I played it almost non-stop on the PS3 but made a new account when I switched over to the PS4, probably not my smartest maneuver but alas. And yeah it shits excellence, I generally played with the Berry Shooter and All-Star on the zombie side.

    Anyone still playing WoW?

I got the itch again, but all of my old guildies have quit or on a break right now.

So if there is a DLP guild on the EU side I would love to join. Have some free time and can grind up to 100 relatively quickly.

I'm currently playing Cities: Skyline. It is everything that SimCity should have been. And sooo many mods.

Also, I'm currently the mayor of Cuntmuffington with 14,5k people as residents. Bow before me!

Any mods out yet that turn the game into a cyberpunk city builder?

Most mods are concentrating on adding more fancy roads and crossing, and some correction to the game mechancis, traffic can be really buggy.

Are there different architecture template mods? As in, mods that make the cities look different, i.e. European, American, Asian, etc.?

So this is both mildly hilarious and kindofsortof awesome. Super Time Force Ultra (STFU) 2-bit platformer.

Sony President Shuhei Yoshida is a playable character that uses heart emoticons and tweet rockets for weapons.

    Hope it's a PS+ game.

    Star Wars: Battlefront news:

    - Original Trilogy only.
    - No campaign, instead "short missions."
    - No space battles.
    - 40 players max (depending on game mode)
    - Heroes are back.
    - Offline co-op.

    The reveal trailer.

So not all the news is bad, but God, stripping out features that were there ten years ago. For fuck's sake...

I weep bitter tears for what could've been.

All of my yes. All of them.

Been playing a fair amount of MMO's lately.

I've given up on Archeage completely, the thought of going back (as some friends are trying to convince me to do) is actually a bit nauseating.

Currently waiting on Skyforge CBT 3 on the 22nd, and its OBT in a couple of months.

And lastly, after finally committing and setting it up, I can easily say that Black Desert is everything anyone could want in an MMO (Except for a sequel to SWG) It. Is. Fantastic. Unfortunately it's all in Korean. But when it comes out in the West, I'll buy it in a goddamned heartbeat.

Totally not looking forward to seeing in what ways they can fuck it up.

And seriously, what was their reasoning for cutting out space battles?

I can think of a few reasons, primarily:

    1. They want to focus on the core ground gameplay for now and will likely release a secondary mode similar to Air Superiority in Battlefield 4 at a later date.

    2. They're holding off (or were forbidden) from including it so that a separate title can be released later focusing entirely on space battles. Star Wars space combat games have always done well, but interest in Star Wars has dropped off sharply over the last decade. Waiting for the new movie to drum up interest and then releasing a standalone title is pretty standard marketing.

Note the part where they said that they weren't going to order it. If something was selling out that fast you'd think they'd want to keep ordering new copies.

Either way, I was talking more on the gaming side of things.

Since 2005 they've only released a handful of titles. The only really notable things there are Empire at War, Republic Commando, the two Force Unleashed games (The first of which did very well, while the second fell far short of expectations), the LEGO series, and The Old Republic.

There's a two year gap between 2010 and 2012 where there was pretty much nothing. Since Star Wars was bought by Disney in 2012 its basically just been mobile and pinball games.

Hell, they cancelled two titles that were damn near guaranteed to bring in decent revenue, Star Wars: 1313 and KOTOR 3.

LEGO series are awesome. THe best HP games hands down are the LEGO HP games. I remember playing the first LEGO SW game when it came out, the camera handling was soooooo shitty...

There was a fairly large cast of characters you could choose to play with after a certain point (unlocking them, was it?), and I remember I watched some fellow play as Voldemort and then kill a lot of characters.

Yes, that was part of it. You needed certain characters to fully complete maps, th evil characters like Voldemort needed a playthrough to unlock.
