I liked it well enough in the beginning, as with most of his stories, and the momentum kept me going for a good while. But there came a point where I gave up reading, it just didn't keep my attention.

I still keep up with it though if it wasn't for the OP warning I am not sure I would be doing so and out of all his fics(and even snippets) I read I find it the weakest.

There came a point where it just...

    Sigh.

You know the whole concept of "Give Frodo the lightsaber and then give Sauron the Death star?" That kind of concept?

TGWP(Those Games we Played) takes that concept and RUNS with it.

Don't get me wrong I liked the story. I participated in the thread, wrote stuff for it but... it got to the point where I'm reading the story and then having to ask myself A. WHO THE FUCK ARE THESE PEOPLE? and B. Why should care about them?!

I think I read up to meeting Grandma Arc.

And then trying to get back into when his dad dies... or something?

The latter was when I asked myself those questions and stopped reading because I just couldn't keep up. Maybe I'll rejoin the fic at a later date when something more familiar is happening.

I know nothing of RWBY or The Gamer and TGWP is still pretty fun. It's definitely a very exciting ride, very fast-paced and relentless.

    I recommend it.

TGWP has taught me to hold off on putting stuff up for review until there's at least a couple arcs done. I can't believe how fast the story got uninteresting to me after the first arc.

But this is really not the right place to discuss the story.

A Cloudy Path was like that for me. It used to be one of my favorites. I read up until after the Butcher fight... Then I iust stopped caring. Anything I tried to read after that I just skimmed through. Couldn't get into it the same. Heromaker's Legacy is the same. I liked it at first, but then a couple Taylors turned into like seven, and shit just fell apart.

There's quite a few stories I read for a while because they had daily updates and just enough quality to keep me checking every morning. The problem is that I just got sick of most of them or I missed an update and felt no need to go back to it.

I don't much care for Games we Play either. I started to get turned off on it when he introduced Grandma Arc and the drama between the mother and the sisters. It just never made any sense to me since it's made clear she only puts them through that nightmare training to sharpen their skills and she lets them quit if they want to quit, and apparently however bad the training was it wasn't bad enough to stop them from wanting to be hunters.

All things considered, it's just not the Ryuugi fic I wished he'd settled on, that was any of his Digimon or PJO fics. RWBY is still so new that the cast is relatively small and we haven't met everybody yet so he supplements by creating an entire cast of new characters and while none of them are bad, I just don't really care about them.

Same for me, in regards to Cloudy Path. I think that may be because that's when I picked up the story - right at the Butcher fight, and I can't be bothered to read infrequent updates. And it's been long enough now, that I'd probably have to reread the story, and while it was good (maybe the best alt!power Taylor), it's not good enough to warrant read 14+ arcs to remember what happened. I'll probably read it again if it ever gets finished, or if I get really, really bored.

I guess such stories have a similar effect as many TV shows.
They are often only planned out for the first 1 or 2 seasons but then they get successful and just keep going. At some point in Season 5 or so you ask yourself "Why am I still watching this?".

That being said, I still read and enjoy TGWP even though I think the introspection and some of the fight (and earlier on grind) scenes should be shorter.

Heromaker's Legacy's basic problem (at least up to where I got bored with it) was that there never really was much in the way of a story, and the author didn't appear to have any plans to change that. It's nothing but worldbuilding presented from a thin narritive structure, and there's only so long that can stay interesting.

I feel like it's about time people started actually submitting Worm stories to For Review.

I'd like to submit the following Worm stories for review(if they haven't been already):
    Weaver 9
    Maharal
Shattered Glass (maybe will only reach almost recommended)

Can't think of any others. Cenotaph/Wake, the best Worm fic, is already in the library.
Anyone have any reason any of the above shouldn't be submitted for review(such as if they already have been submitted for review) please tell me. If not I'll submit them in a couple days.

Fuck you esran, Weaver Nine is mineminemineminemine.

Other than that -- Zenith, Here Be Dragons, Bug on a Wire, Journey of the Dragonfly, Speak With the Dead, Go Gently and Lavanya's one-shot The Girls Who Can't Unplug have a chance to get into at least Almost Recommended, if not the library.

Zenith and Here be Dragons are good enough to get in for sure. Speak with the Dead (is that that the glastig!taylor?) is a bit below, but still good enough to get in I'd say. Weaver 9 is an easy inclusion, as is Cloudy Path. I think there's another big one I'm missing. I'm not really one for one shots, so I won't comment on them (though I've read a few). I will resist the urge to rant on how much I disliked Cenotaph though.

If Cenotaph is the best Worm fic, then yeah, most if not all of those stories deserve a spot in the library too.
