It's a fair point, but the whole experience is instantly destroyed the second people start monologuing at a mute...

Bethesda games have never had their highs in character development/ interactions. Anything to address that should make this game better imo.

I dunno. I just find it odd that I'm way more excited about xcom2. I thought I'd be all over the Fallout hype train...

You may be a step away from a mute in Elder Scrolls games, but Fallout games have always given you actual dialogue options to choose from. I would appreciate if Elder Scrolls at least did that rather than picking from generic choices like "Rumors" or whatever.

As far as XCOM goes, yeah, remove the RNG. Let me choose what kind of soldiers to recruit. Also, more customization options for soldiers. And neck covers for helmets would be appreciated...

One thing I'd like is for weapons to be changed. Instead of a linear progression from ballistic to laser to plasma, allow each of them to have different strengths or weaknesses.

You're not really a mute, though. You DO respond, you have dialogue options, it's just that you provide the voice yourself, like reading a book and doing character voices in your head. You're the one that's supposed to be speaking.

Adding a voice for the protagonist removes that. They aren't you (or whoever you want them to be), anymore, they're Happy!/Sarcastic!/Dickbag!Vaultdweller#4.

Then just download the mod to mute your character. It's Fallout, that's how it works.

This. Elder Scrolls and Fallout are supposed to be true, open role-playing games, where your character's personality and voice are whatever you want them to be. A fully voiced character will diminish that a lot, which I think would be a mistake. These games aren't The Witcher or Mass Effect, and should never try to be. They're better than that, because of the freedom you have to decide what sort of character you want to play.

Perhaps the character isn't actually voiced in game, and this was just for the benefit of the trailer. Skyrim's trailers featured an iconic Dovahkiin, but he obviously wasn't then forced on the player.

Indeed, there were severel point in Mass effect, where you are talking to a guy and asking questions, and it just sounds so STUPID hearing "yourself" ask those questions in that situation. I support mute MC.

This disgruntled chick might indeed have worked on the game, but this can't be considered as even a moderately reliable source given how much a game is liable to change in a year of development.

Just hold your horses and wait 10 days.

I don't even get how can you actually leak confidential information by accident, as she claims she did.

You'd have to be awfully fucking retarded.

Eh.. send an email or picture to the wrong person or talk to your friends/husband/wife/children and mention things you shouldn't and have you have leaked confidential information. Something like that can happen a lot faster than you think and there is seldom any malice behind it though her reaction to it is/was pretty dumb (if this is not a simple hoax).

Yeah, I'll probably do that, assuming it doesn't make conversations impossible to follow. The ability to (possibly) fix the issue makes it no less a stupid decision, if it's even a thing.

Apparently some Italian game site has the release date as October 23. Probably just guessing, though.

    Dark Souls 3 Exclusive Leaks

The part that bothers me about this is the PC release bit.

As far as I know both the first Dark Souls and the second one sold extremely well on PC, which is quite surprising given that the first one was a pure console port that required several fan-made fixes to make it playable.

And now it's 'negotiable' whether it even releases on PC? Fuck you, From Software.

If it really is negotiable, I find it hard to believe it sold well in comparison to consoles.

Then again, Japanese and all that. I'm never not baffled when looking at Nintendo's policies.

The PC versions were definitely the better ones though.

As for the game itself, I hope it lets me play fast paced like Bloodborne. Dunno if I can go back T_T

On Steam alone, both Dark Souls games sold 1 million copies each.

The first Dark Souls game got released quite a while after its console versions.

Did it sell better on consoles? Undoubtedly, they are the primary market/audience for From Software, and they got the games before PC did, but PC didn't disappoint.

Numbers are a little weird on Steam. How many of those copies were picked up for 5 bucks?

I can't think of any other reason why they'd hesitate.
