His memory where Lily talks about James saving his life is just before the one from the OWLs. Assuming they're in chronological order, that must have happened before. The only other info AFAIK is that it was "several years" after their Sorting.

Would Tonks or any other canon character (outside of Sirius, his immediate family, and Kreacher) have been familiar with the interior of No. 12 Grimmauld Place prior to the events of Order of the Phoenix?

Reasonable extrapolation says no with a little chance of maybe. Tonks is Sirius' cousin. Might he ever have invited her? With Andromeda? Keeping in mind Sirius lived in Grimmauld Place till the mid-seventies, and Tonks was born around 1973, I guess the answer could be irrelevant, even, because Tonks would have been too young to remember.

The Black sisters, however, I suspect would have certainly visited Grimmauld Place. Ditto with any Pureblood-friends of Regulus' he brought home. No Canon-evidence for either (as far as I know), but I think you'd have a hart time arguing otherwise. Which Canon characters exactly did you have in mind?

Thanks, Sesc—that's a helpful answer. I suppose I was thinking about all affiliates of the Order who entered No. 12 within the time span of OoTP, HBP, and DH, and specifically mentioned Tonks as she seemed like the most likely candidate.

How exactly did Crouch Sr refer to Voldemort? You-Know-Who, or by the name?

I believe he called him the Dark Lord when talking about him, and "my Lord" when talking to him.

The dialogue from Crouch Sr. To Harry: "Don't… leave… me!" he whispered, his eyes bulging again. "I…
    escaped… must warn… must tell… see Dumbledore… my fault…
    all my fault… Bertha… dead… all my fault…my son… my fault… tell Dumbledore… Harry Potter… the Dark
    Lord… stronger… Harry Potter…"

Does anyone know if Hogwarts preceded the Ministry of Magic? I think it did, but I'm not sure.

I was re reading DH and can't help but wonder. Does Draco Malfoy owe Harry a 'Life Debt'? I know that Ginny was said to not owe on witch to me doesn't make sense. How was Peter Pettigrew life dept worthy while others weren't?

I think he does, unless Narcissa's actions in the clearing negated it somehow. The only two people we see in cannon who owe a life debt are Snape and Pettigrew and in both cases they would have been murdered by someone else so maybe that's a requirement?

Hogwarts is "more than a thousand years old" and the Ministry was founded in 1707. So Hogwarts preceded it, but there was probably another "governing" body before that, maybe the Wizards' Council.

What would you guys say Harry's Fatal Flaw is?

    I'm thinking Loyalty, or Compassion.

That sounds like something that doesn't belong in this thread.

I kinda expected it to have a thread of it's own. Where should it go in general?

According to JKR, Harry's flaws are his anger and occasional arrogance.

His tendency to impulsively jump into dangerous situations which he can only survive by the grace of the deux ex machina. One can say he's simply stupid, but his stupidity is only occasional and mostly confines to these situations. His compassion, too, played a part in the deaths of many people on his side.

Of course, without that tendency the series just won't be the same, so there's that.
