So the whole Karin thing was a red herring. Do we know about Sakuras sickness anything? Also Sasuke finger poked his daughter... Doesn't the finger poke symbolize sex?

Unless the implication is that Itachi was doin the dirty to Sasuke, I don't think so.

    I totally lol'd

seeing Kabuto as the head of the orphan program. I kind of get the why, but it still strikes me as a hilariously bad decision. And that's beside the fact that I hate how absolutely everyone is redeemed no matter what they did previously. There should be no action without consequence, but that seems to be a principle Kishimoto abandoned in its entirety.

I think Kishi's whole point was that redemption is possible, and that forgiveness is necessary to break the cycle of vengeance, etc.

All the 'villains' were essentially victims of one thing or another (usually the ninja system itself). Except maybe Zetsu, although an argument could be made that he was only doing what his 'mother' designed him for. Even Kaguya was apparently just taking [what she thought were] necessary steps to prepare for some massive threat.

Lots of villains are. Lots of people who do terrible, terrible things are victims are terrible, terrible things happening to them.

    But here's the sticking point.

Terrible, Terrible things happen to all sorts of people. But that's not an excuse or justification to turn around and do terrible things to others. Yes, forgiveness is necessary to break the cycle of vengeance, but passing over Justice in the name of forgiveness is not okay and is not a moral that we should strive for.

Without Justice, without Consequences, people do not learn and grow and adapt. Ignoring the cycle of Cause and Effect in the name of some feel-good hippy-hugs ideal of perfect forgiveness doesn't teach anyone anything valuable, it just creates unrealistic standards.

Just because the 'moral' of the story is one designed to fill us with warm fuzzies and make us all 'nicer' people, doesn't mean it's a respectable story or that the communication of the moral is well executed.

Just look at HP. The 'Moral' of that story is exceedingly similar, and, just the same, sticking to the goal of passing on an exceedingly unrealistic moral led to story developments which breached the wall of verisimilitude too egregiously to escape rightful criticisms.

Didn't Itachi Mindfuck Kabuto until he became a good guy, literally 'Mindfuckyouuntil you're good no jutsu'?

Technically, Itachi mindfucked Kabuto until he acknowledged the consequences and results of his actions and faced them head on and accepted who he was as a person instead of just hiding behind another mask, not "until he became a good guy".

So Kabuto isn't necessarily a good guy. He's just one who's had a good long look inside what makes him who he is and accepted it, which lets him make better decisions moving forward....like sticking around Konoha until you have a thousand clones all with the Sharingan that are calling you papa.

At the end of all this, my opinion remains the same - Fuck Chouchou, what an awful character.

You can be the worst war criminal ever, and Naruto might still think you're the coolest guy.

I'd call that into question. HPs in big part about standing up and fighting against evil and for good, doing what is right. Not in the, do good, not evil way but more do good instead of closing your eyes. And sacrifice.

In Naruto, the characters made their resolve to fight near their start and it was never called into question. Naruto doesn't ask himself wether he will fight, just how he can win and what to do with his opponent, maybe. If I had to give Naruto a theme, I'd go back to the Nagato - Naruto fight.

There are a lot of similarities with protecting your friends and stuff, but I'd say LotR is about temtation, HPs about right vs easy and Narutos about breaking the circle of hatred. And that's a difference. Imo.

Think the genjutsu was the consequences. And it looks like he's confined to Konaha raising orphans forever. While probably not a punishment for him, it's gonna look like one to almost anyone else as well as atonement for all the lives he messed up.

I can see how they would forgive the villains since post war amnesties are a thing. I can also see a lot of people in-universe not being cool about it and people like Orochimaru going back to business as soon as the two powerhouses that are Naruto and Sasuke die. It kinda makes me want a next generation fic. Well, not exactly next generation but something like 80 years later. And make it a crossover with Fallout while at it.

That said, back to the important part, the secret Uchiha clone army that Naruto gave Kabuto to train. They all have the MS. So the question is, did Shin and his clones clone twice the number they needed, had them kill each other to develope the MS and then either swap eyes with each other or kill half of them again to get the EMS? Would that even work considering they are clones of the same guy? Or will they have a few hundreds of blind Uchihas a decade from now?

Because considering that a lot of those clones were done behind the back of the original, the whole MS obtaining process is very fucked up when applied to the clones, since not only did they do so willingly but they know how to do it again. So each one of the Shins is a potential source for another clone army. When you add the fact that their ideology was about evolution of ninjas and that because Shin is supposed to be able to accept any transplants they could attempt and succeed a experiments like the one that made Yamato...

Gah, I would have loved for Kishi to have kept Karin as the mother. Much better than a Red Herring.

He probably has. I'm wondering if Kabuto is suppose to be the head of a regular orphanage or a special orphanage for kids with screwed up backgrounds like Root.

Pretty sure a bunch of clones with the mangekyou sharingan don't go to the same orphanage with kids learning to tie their shoes and count to 10.
