I don't think that happens, but there is a sequence where a fantasy army is slaughtered by attack helicopters to the sound of Ride of the Valkyries.

The manga has other odd sequences like that. It makes for an entertainingly bad read.

How do they get Ride of the Valks across in a manga? o_O

By saying they are playing it. And having one of the fantasy characters visualize a bunch of sneering valkyries as that happened. It was hilarious.

That's the kind of scene that cannot possibly go wrong when put in the anime.

Hey, I'd like your opinion on Superior by Ichtys and the sequel Superior Cross.

It's a straight up romance + adventure. Follows the moral of killing is wrong, but more as an ideal and less a duty. It's not very polished, has an art style I dislike and features cliches.

But it feels honest and original at times. There are some powerful moments and the characters don't feel like knock offs, they feel more like the characters the knock offs were based on.

I recommend Yureka (=ID_Entity) for another virtual reality (fantasy game) story. Very fun and distinct characters. The characters are so fun there's no need to make the game impact reality as anything more then a game for a long while. It goes from adventure to romance to romantic tragedy.
The main characters a douchebag in the classic MMO way, putting his own loot before the teams chances as a whole.

I also recommend Spirit Circle and basically everything else by Mizukami Satoshi.
He really need somebody to write better blobs for his work. I don't think I spoil anything by telling you the synopsis. It's revealed in the second chapter:
Reincarnation is real. The MC, Fuuta and the girl, Kouko met each other in several of their respective reincarnations and were usually on opposite sites. Who was in the right and who in the wrong is a matter of perspective, but Kouko sure had some terrible luck. She remembers all her reincarnations, Fuuta relives them one at a time. It's very interesting to see all his lives.
    I highly recommend this one.

If you can ignore/skip over the fuck yeah Japan stuff its actually pretty fun.

My only real gripe with that is, in the process of "Fuck yeah, Japan!", it makes everyone else drooling blithering stupid evil idiots.

That... Really wanted to skip that. US Special Forces getting raped by JSDF common grunts (that's what the squad is, only the commander was on any SF), not only them but also SF from multiple countries, really ticked me off. And then the US politicians seem more like poste boys for Evulz Captalists and the chinese ones, well, they make the villains in Captain Planet seem like reasonable people.

Not literally, but there is a scene in the manga where multiple SF teams spy on the squad on Japan. They get discovered and are all beaten easily by the squad and Rory. If I remember correctly they didn't even had to use lethal force.

So, Kekkai Sensen's finale apparently has no set air date.

    Me right now.

Hello friends, I'm looking for anime with super-high quality animation, something truly groundbreaking.

I already saw the Garden of Words and 5 Centimeters Per Second, but I want to see more.

Any HQ anime you can recommend?

No doubt a classic and something to look into (I'm planning to anyway), but I'm looking for something more recent, if that's not a problem.

The recent ufotable adaptations of Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night (UBW) look real good. (I believe ufotable is also doing a Heaven's Feel movie soon) Also, the Kara no Kyoukai movies are nicely animated.

Redline is basically exactly what you're looking for, I think.

If you want a true visual treat, you should move Akira to the top of your list. The story is very simple and straightforward, but it is lovingly animated. To steal a phrase, it was shot on the ones-every frame was drawn, start to finish. The attention to detail in Akira is insane, and is why it is so well remembered. Macross: Do You Remember Love is another great example of a beautifully animated older production that should be on your list for the visuals alone.

As for recent stuff, Satoshi Kon's movies, especially Paprika, and Redline by Takeshi Koike are the two that immediately spring to mind. You could probably make a list of every theatrical movie made in the last ten years and be set as far as well animated productions go.

Not so with tv shows though. The problem with tv shows is that the budget is not as high as it is for movies. That's not a problem (usually) if you want a really good story, but it is for the animation. Drawing a tv anime costs money and is on a very tight schedule, so it is very hard to produce a show that is a feast for the eyes. The better shows are extremely sparse with their budget; they will look pretty, but there isn't much movement going on outside of a few scenes. Fate/Zero is a perfect example of this. The character designs and backgrounds are great, but outside of the fight scenes that the studio saved its money for, the actual animation-the movement of the characters-is as minimal as possible. It's why I usually don't recommend tv anime if you're looking for a visual treat.
