I can probably post it here in a while, I keep changing cards every other game at the moment. Getting used to play control with hunter feels so weird.

 

Halfway decent chest: Golden Sunwalker and Rampage, plus a third golden Freezing Trap. Fancy, I suppose.

 

Anyone else get double rewards from their chest?

In the "Announcement" box next to the Hearthstone "Launch Game":

"We are aware of an issue with the Collection Manager incorrectly displaying two copies of your ranked play reward. Relogging will fix this issue."

 

If you're deciding between two cards (usually for tech like kezan vs harrison), anytime you have it in your hand - make a note of whether you would prefer it, or some other card. Run the same deck for at least 10 games too, it's hard to tell whether a card is effective or not otherwise.

This paladin deck is so good is op. ranking with this is so easy. This is probably gonna get nerfed, oh well was fun while it lasts I guess.

 

Got a golden explosive sheep, I had never seen that art. Think I will keep it around, there is just something "Watch the world burn" about it.

 

You generally have to wait until at least midnight PST for NA servers.

 

If Patron hasn't been nerfed after this many months, I think the Paladin deck will manage to make it through Blizzard's high standards.

 

Why Bear Trap?

 

Only made it to rank 7, didn't have time to go to 5. Dam professors giving me homework, they should know better :O.

 

Patron was fine! I'm saying this as someone who hasn't played a single game with warrior outside of arena (F2P and proud of it. have to focus on couple of decks). You could outempo that deck easily and force them to waste their valuable cards. Sure if they drew perfectly and you poorly there was nothing to be done, but than again the same can end up with you taking 6 fireballs to the face from a mech mage, or run over by a facehunter. Patron warrior required discipline and skill to play

This paladin deck on the other hand is a complete faceroll. You need to draw one card by turn six. That is what 9-10 chances to get it?

 

Patron warrior is indisputably the top tier deck because it has the lowest amount of counterplay available and the biggest chances of succesfully pulling it off.

It's not balanced, but it's broken in such a way that isn't easily fixable without gutting several cards that are fine outside of that particular deck, and that's not something Blizzard is willing to do.

 

Agree with the first paragraph. Disagree with the second.

You only need to nerf one card for it and that's, quite obviously, Grim Patron. Give it 4 (heck, give it 5) attack. Problem solved. (I heard you got a problem).

 

I don't know if I agree with that. Patron itself isn't the problem with the deck - it's the warsong > frothing otk + reliable and strong card draw.

 

Just need to nerf frothing by giving it +1 attack. Either that or it make it so warsong only gives charge while you have 3 attack or less so if a creature becomes huge it can't charge.

 

Might also see a stats nerf for Patron - making it a 3/2 would probably kill its effectiveness outright, and even a 2/3 would have trouble being as dominant. Additionally, making Warsong Commander's Charge conditional would help with the OTK-aspect.

If you want to nerf Frothing, make it a 4/2, done.

 

Mysterious Challenge might be too strong, but it promotes interaction with the board & minions which is something blizzard likes (incidentally, dr. boom does the same).

Patron Warrior is an uninteractive combo deck in the best defensive class which punishes you for playing minions.

Like Eidolonic said, Grim Patron (the card) isn't necessarily too strong (even in the Patron Warrior shell), it's the Thaurssian enabled Frothing OTKs backed by absurd card draw in battle rage.

Assuming they want Patron to be playable after any balance changes, I'd expect them to nerf battle rage (minions only) and Frothing Beserker (friendly minions only). That probably knocks it down to about freeze mage levels, which is fine for a otk combo deck.

Other than the good Emperor, the problem cards in Patron Warrior only show up in that deck, so if they wanted to End The Deck, FOREVER, they could do so and not really impact any other builds.

People play around freeze trap anyway, and bear trap makes stuff like ram wrangler or houndmaster extremely reliable.

 

Frothing Berserker has existed since the start and it never made a deck really competitive (what was it called? Math Warrior or something?). Even with the Emperor that certainly wasn't there at the start, having taunts (or some secrets) can stop it somewhat easily, but they can't reliably stop the avalanche of Grim Patrons that Warriors can currently activate. That card makes and breaks the deck, IMO.
