Hmm six one and two drops, and no arcane. Never liked that, because I kept loosing if it came down to topdecks. Perhaps giving up that early game is what was giving me trouble.

I can't imagine what I'd do without my one drops. Literally game winners.

I don't have card draw, but I have tons of finishers for when I start to lose steam.

The pyro is probably not a good idea, to be honest. Your curve is low enough that you want to supplement it rather than the dead card most of the time.

A spider tank or tinkertown tech instead would probably be better ideas, the lack of 3-drops is a thing.

Trust me, the pyro is a good idea. I don't go full face, I use the mechs to contest the board. Sometimes that goes great and I win before turn six hits. But sometimes I don't win the board, and my chance of winning those games (a bit less than half of my total games) is either a sick Antonidas play or Pyro.

I've tried iterations without Pyro. This is better.

As for the three drops, no. There's no lack of three drops. In fact, with a Mechwarper in play, I have at least 4 options for turn 3, not to mention spamming 2-1 drops.

I've tried double technician before, too. It was too clunky, and the mech dependence too much. This is the curve that seems to work best. For me at least. Haven't tried spider tank. Will give it a shot, but not in place of Pyro. Pyro is integral to the deck, because if I'm ever in a position to use it it means I've lost the early-mid game, and that only happens with very specific situations/decks.

-shrug- Your call ultimately, but there's a reason pyro is never used in mech mage, heh.

Maybe I'm not good enough to not need to rely on it. As it is, it's my win condition for like a fourth of my games.

Have you tried fel reavers? I've found that version to be the most consistent for me, although that was pre-TGT, admittedly. Haven't played mage much lately.

    http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/297015-chinese-fel-reaver-mech-mage

This list seems to be what I was running.

I've seen a lot of mech mages tech in a blood knight too, instead of tinkertown tech - same with polymorph boar.

Could experiment with the link above, but 1 of each.

I've seen a lot of fel reavers played, mostly in streams and tournaments. They seem to do okay there.

On the other hand, every single time I've seen fel reaver on ladder I've crushed them hilariously easily.

If I were to play fel reaver mage, I'm pretty sure I'd belong to the latter rather than the former category.

If you like watching competitive Hearthstone, but haven't been watching the world championship series that was going on the last week, i highly recommend going back and watching a lot of the matches.

Its a clinic on how to beat Patron decks. I personally really enjoyed Nias's matches, very entertaining.

Did my rank 5 grind today, played 25 games, went 22-3.

Going to try for legend push with it I think, all 3 losses were to dragon priest.

    http://imgur.com/PBlt2vb is the deck list.

Yes, I'm serious, it's legitimately good - play it aggressively, only trade to protect sensei or cold blood/windfury targets, pretty much.

It can probably be played without Darkbane, but she wins games sometimes. another spider tank/harvest golem or maybe even second enhance-o-mech would be my subs.

Pretty much. Can use hero power + auto barber to clear tricky 2 health early drops to protect mechwarper/sensei (imps, jugglers, etc), eviscerate and saps to deal with taunts or serious threats.

The real key is to play to win, not play to not lose - you have to go all in and accept that if they have hellfire on turn 4 you lose, against handlock, for example. Handlock usually won't keep hellfire against oil rogue, so you should be okay - people don't expect rush mech shell, nor do they expect the insane combos you can pull off with darkbane.

JAB is one of the 8 players who qualified from the Americas championship, so that's pretty cool.

So I hit Rank 5 and I feel like I've plateaued. I reach it, my winrate stays about 50% for a little while, and then I get put on tilt and drop down to rank 8. I want to make that jump to Legend, but I don't know how to improve. I can't learn from my mistakes because I don't know what they are. It's the nebulous stuff like playing card x instead of card y ten turns ago. How do you guys do it?

I usually pick a deck at the beginning of the season and try to master it. By the time I reach rank 5 I mostly have the basics down. What cards to keep against which class, what my win conditions are, do I need to rush or can I take it slow, etc. Rest is just playing your best and grind, oh and take breaks when shit doesn't go your way.

I reached legend just after BRM with Tempo mage and I found it is easier to get to legend by finding one deck and spamming that one. You learn the ins and outs of the decks and how to play specific match ups just through the practice of vsing them.

This month I have been playing Dragon priest as it is very strong at the moment. For decklists you can just net deck them if you want, but most decks have a certain core to them and the rest are tech cards.

With dragon priest as you are climbing the ladder if you are vsing a lot of control decks you can tech in cards like vol'jin to help with removal or more fatties like chromagus, and if you are vsing more aggro decks you can put in more early removal like smite or low drops to contest the board such as blackwing technician.
