So did anyone get in on Fifa 16 this year?

Not to harp on yearly-released games but this has to be the first time that there isn't much improvement game-play wise IIRC. It actually made me look longingly at PES 2016.

Did any one of you make the jump between the series?

Also, they just released some stuff on Persona. Apparently, the storyline is more episodic than driven, connected by a loose theme. I'll reserve any apprehension until next year when the game actually comes out, barring a second delay like Witcher.

Sounds awesome, and unique to me. No real 'big bad', I wonder if it means you can tackle your 'targets' in any order? Like Megaman.

Also, is that the first time they've said we'll be in 'Tokyo'? I figured it'd be a facsimile of it.

Finally, I hope they release that messaging app on Android :3

I've already bought PES 2016 for my PC (because it will soon become the ultimate football game through modding), and will also buy FIFA 16 for my PS4. But if it turns out that the really comprehensive PES mods also work on the PS4 version (which is possible this year), I might just forget FIFA entirely and buy PES for both platforms.

The usual problem with PES is that it lacks licences, so there aren't many official teams from the Premier League (just Man Utd) or Bundesliga (Bayern, Wolfsburg, and Borussia Mönchengladbach). I mean, the EPL teams are in the game, they just have the wrong names, kits, and emblems. But that is all easy to fix with a few minutes in the Edit mode. The Bundesliga is completely absent, though, which annoys me since my own team's players aren't currently in the game. Most disappointing is the extreme lack of stadiums, though I suspect Konami will be adding a bunch through data updates soon. Anyway, none of this will be an issue once modders get to work on the game. It will end up having dozens upon dozens of genuine teams and stadiums.

The graphics on the PC version aren't as good as on the PS4, but I've already fixed that with mods. I'm not sure if the PS4 gameplay is also better, but so far the PC gameplay looks great to me. The new collision system and added animations make the game look fluid and awesome. Player models and faces on PES are way better than FIFA this year, which is ironic since FIFA has actual player head scanning.

PES also has a few really nice aesthetic features, like Champions League licensing. Still, FIFA has better presentation of the Premier League and Bundesliga, which is more important for most people. I think mods will give PES a clear lead, thanks to its superior gameplay. But not everyone is savvy enough to find and install mods, so there's that in FIFA's favour.

Fallout needs to come out so that Bethesda can get to making Elder Scrolls VI. Also I'm super excited to play a game based in my hometown.

I completely stopped playing 15 halfway through this year, around May/June. But did buy 16 and I've been playing it non-stop, I really like this years for some reason, particularly now that I'm nailing the passing aspect which seemed to be a hell of a lot trickier in previous editions.

They've probably started already, but it won't become their major project until all the Fallout 4 DLC is finished.

I have a strong feeling the next elder scrolls is going to be Black Marsh, and it will be cool to see how they pull it off.

    I'd put money on Hammerfell.

But they've already done Hammerfell. I guess it'd make sense given the focus it recieved in Skyrim.

Bleh, another human region would be boring.

I'm hoping for Elsweyr or Summerset Isle, personally.

I just hope it won't be Black Marsh, can't stand Argonians... Summerset Isles would be awesome though.

I'd like Elsweyr or Black Marsh. I wonder how they're going to spice things up though, since I'm assuming we won't be playing as another dragonborn.

Just two weeks from now and Age of Decadence is officially released after more than a decade of development.

I hope they don't feel pressured to include something like the thuum just because Skyrim was so popular.

If it's in Hammerfell, the PC could be a sword saint or something. Really, there's no shortage of excuses for the PC to have special shit, but I don't think it's necessary. Most of the shouts in Skyrim were useless.

I didn't realize that Redguard culture is so similar to Japanese. In my mind they were moorish. I always pegged Dunmer as the more Japanese styled race with their ancestor ghosts and such.

Anyways, what would be cool about elsweyr is if we were able to play as the other kinds of Khajjit, like the one that looks like a small house cat.

    Huh?

I like Elsweyr, but I don't think we'll ever have a game set there, if only to continue the joke.

I know it's a bit of a personal choice, but having played both games extensively over the last few iterations (11 onwards, before that I only played PES), I can whole heartedly say that Fifa is lightyears ahead in my opinion. I bought PES and traded it in 8 days later this year, feeling like it was a step back from the less than stellar 2015. That being said, you did mention playing on PC, and from what I can gather Fifa on PC is a bit of a joke, so that might make sense then.

On another note, does anyone here play FTL (Faster Than Light)? Fantastic little indie roguelike that's been out for a few years now. Always fun.
