Hammerfell or Black Marsh would be my bets. Summerset Isles would require locking you in as one of the Dominion races which would suck. Playing as some kind of freedom fighter against the Thalmor tyranny sounds awesome though.

There are very likely a lot of non-Dominion race individuals living there. Like outsiders in Morrowind. So you wouldn't be locked in.

Most likely but I can't see outsiders being given free reign to do what they wish.

Eh, it could work like with Morrowind - a lot of distrust of outsiders, the shadier groups let you in if you prove yourself without caring about your background while the bigger factions use you as a political tool, while you slowly work your way up the ladder. It'd actually be a lot more fun if it adds anything to becoming Archmage or Guild master beyond doing x number of quests.

That's the thing though, I can see the Morrowind comparison but I can't see a Thalmor controlled territory ever letting a none Altmer ever reaching a, legal, position of real power. The main quest would be anti Thalmor and probably heavily involve the Psijic Order which would be amazing.

Well, sure the Thalmor would either be part of the main quest or a major civil war type questline. That wouldn't preclude you from becoming, like, a retainer for major powers vying for political influence. Maybe the highest levels are restricted until you're a certain distance into the Thalmor questline, which would allow for quests about taking advantage of the power vacuum.

Leading you're own coup and assuming absolute power would be really cool. Could even be a dedeified Tiber Septim reclaiming his glory!

Nah, it'd have to be a new guy, if I understand the lore right. Him being able to become Talos is the entire reason the Aldmer hate him to begin with, and losing his divinity would just give credit to their beliefs.

Lore wise the shouts are very powerful. Skyrim does not make the Thu'um as powerful as it actually is. Lesson 9 of the 36 Lessons of Vivec demostrates how powerful shouts actually are when Nords actually destroy villages by shouting:

    http://www.newwhirlingschool.com/lessons/09.php

The Thu'um is just another form of tonal architecture, which the Redguards and the Dwemer posses their own versions of. It is not magic, it is manipulating the music of reality.

I would personally like for TES VI to be in Hammerfell, as I wish to learn more Redguard lore. I also would like to the some Redguard sword singing.

I know shouts were powerful in the lore. Blowing up villages is the least of what it can do. But in the game, most of them were useless, and there's no reason for sword-singing or any other special snowflake powers to be any different. My point is that shouts didn't really add much to Skyrim, so you don't need a shout equivalent in 6.

Not that I don't want my crazy Redguard kung-fu. It'd even give them an excuse to revamp the combat system a bit.

Well, every protagonist in the Elder Scrolls is a Shezzarine, so there's always something special about them. Morrowind's protagonist was the Nerevarine, the Champion of Cyrodiil became Sheogorath, the Dragonborn was Dragonborn.

If ESVI is set in Elseweyr I could see the protagonist becoming the Mane (the leader of the Khajiit) or perhaps taking a role similar to the Champion of Cyrodiil in Martin Septim's ascension.

    This.

Summerset would be awesome. Hannerfell would be obvious since they already have something to build off of. I dont know about Elswyer or Black Marsh. Mostly because I despise argonians and the only thing I have found Kahjit useful for is stealing from their merchant chests.

If you thought the shouts were useless you were playing Skyrim wrong. Just saying. There are some shouts that I go for directly when I start a new game because they are so useful.

Agreed. The time slow and speed up Shouts were invaluable for my fighter characters.

I agree that shouts do not add much to Skyrim, that is why they should have been at their lore strength. They also should have been more hard to learn. What if they added sword-singing but made the Hero work for it? It could open up new game mechanics and I think it would be better than shouts. If they have a Redgaurd game, they would need some crazy sword powers/techniques. Redgaurd culture itself is largely based around the sword after all.

I actually contest this theory, not every protagonist Is a Shezzarine. There are actually six listed Shezzarines by MK, with room for one more:

    Wulfharth L

    Hjalti O

    Ysmir R

    Talos K

    Arctus H

    Septim A

    N

Many believe the N slot is filled by the Last Dragonborn, so he would be the only protagonist who is a Shazzerine. In fact I would say that each Hero is a footprint of Magnus, a Ysmir:

At lore strength, the player wins, full stop. Only the dragons, priests, and Miraak should be anything approaching a threat, and most of those only barely. Totally broken, with no way to balance it while keeping true to the lore. Pretty much all these skills are way to OP in lore to ever be balanced.

I'm thinking that if the next game is in Hammerfell, sword-singing is something the player has to uncover gradually. Is isn't like the voice, which has some living masters. At this point, there are no sword-singers with more then the most basic levels of ability. I doubt we'll ever see the really high end stuff in the game, which is fine, because I think I remember some dude cut a continent in half at some point.

Yeah, sword-singing is way overpowered. Only basic techniques could be leveled correctly. The Pankratosword is the technique you are thinking of that cuts continents in half. Well, it actually cuts atoms (or the TES equivalent) in half. The Pankratosword is responsible for the destruction of Yokuda and the Orichalc Tower. However, it is long forgotten/forbidden. This is seen in Lord Vivec's Sword Meeting With Cyrus the Restless:

So does anyone know what happened at that livestream?

Also, there's apparently an expansion for AoE II in the works as well. Well damn, this is good.

Hopefully Chinese and Hindu mythology will both be represented.

Also, hopefully Sun Wukong will be a hero.
