I don't understand Blizzard sometimes.

They take absolute ages to nerf it, and when they do decide to do it, they make a horrible decision on how to nerf it.

Congrats, you've ruined arena warrior even more and made Warsong absolutely useless.

It's a raid leader with fewer targets. Really?

 

Personally, I felt they should've just made it so that any minion above 3 attack loses the charge. That would've been a big enough nerf to the Patron deck without completely butchering Warsong Commander.

 

What are you even on about? Warsong wasn't even that good in Arena, imo. Well, Warrior in general is terrible in Arena, but Warsong isn't such a strong pick to warrant such lamentations.

I've hit a brick wall at Rank 3 with Tempo mage. It seems like I'm gonna be playing more of this deck with Secret Paladin as the most played class, though I'll need to sub in an arcane missiles.

As for the warsong nerf, it needed to happen. It prevents the creation of cards that grow rapidly in attack like frothing, cards that can be reincarnated like dreadsteed, and cards which multiply like Grim Patron.

 

That's the problem. It already wasn't that good and now it's abysmal. The average quality of Warrior common cards went down even further.

You're offered on average 0.7 WC per arena run.
Let's say in 50% of cases, you were offered something better, so you chose that instead. Still, in the other 50% of cases it was the best choice out of the three cards offered, so about every third warrior arena run had one in it.

Now it will almost always be the worst. So in that 1 in 3 warrior arenas will have a worse card than pre-nerf WC instead.

I know, it's only 1 card in every 3 arena runs (with these assumptions), but it still makes the worst arena class slightly worse.

I was 11-2 and my final opponent was a mage. I was 3-0 against mages in the run so far with my 2 losses coming from warlock(topdecked dark bomb for win) and pally.

Congrats man! You use draft assistance or did it off the cuff?

 

I used Hearth Arena to help draft the deck but I deviated from their top choices 20% overall.

 

I mean, you drafted three true silver. There's a little joke a friend and I have when we see truesilver: "time to scoop" (mostly in arena).

But yeah, that card is pretty good. Congrats!

 

That deck is really solid. Three Truesilver? Two Murloc Knights? Three Consecrates? With that much value, you don't need draw. The other cards are very decent [to outright good, hello Pit Fighter, Kraken, Force Tank] as well - your worst card is probably the Purifier and that is still a pretty okay card if you don't have to blow your own minions up with it.

@T3t Heartharena wanted me to pick a 4th truesilver but I went with the fen creeper instead.

@Oment The purifier was the 20th pick in the draft where the options were arcane nullifier and gadgetzan auctioneer. I wasn't going with nullifier as senjin and defender are better taunts and auctioneer is a worse gnomish inventor due to lack in spells that are held until the auctioneer goes onto the battlefield. Purifier actually did well for me when I played him and even got a haunted creeper in 1 match.

 

Yeah, if those are the alternatives, Purifier all week. It's not a bad card by any stretch, but it's counter-synergy with Deathrattle (which I value probably too highly in arena.)

 

Been playing this for a week now. My best run so far was 5-3. Any tips?

I think I liked facing patron over mysterious Paladins.

 

Time to bust out the midrange hunter with double flare, double unleash, and dreadscale.

 

Gone from rank 3 to rank 8 with Murloc freeze mage and mill druid. Most fun I've had this season.

 

I noticed there are some /r/hearthstone users here. Is there large overlap between these two communities?

Additionally, is Quartermaster a high value card in Control Pally? I've tried ranking up with the deck but start to hit a wall around Rank 12. With net decks I hit the wall around Rank 7. I recently crafted Justicar and am toying with it. Seems tempting, but my aggro matchups probably need more attention than the control ones. Especially without Patron to hinder them.
