As someone who plays a decent amount of this deck, I consider Quartermaster essential for this deck to work. The "core" of midrange/control pally, in my opinion is the following:

    1 x Zombie Chow
    1 x Equality
    2 x Shielded Minibot
    2 x Muster for Battle
    2 x Aldor Peacekeeper
    1 x Big Game Hunter
    2 x Truesilver Champion
    2 x Consecrate
    2 x Piloted Shredder
    2 x Quartermaster
    1 x Justicar
    1 x Dr. Boom
    1 x Tirion Fordring

Which makes a total of 20 cards, leaving you to fill the final ten. I've tried lists without taunts, without healing, or without card draw and they all have their advantages and disadvantages. I favour a list targeted against aggro decks, trusting that Justicar will win Control warrior and priest matchups. Currently I use the following:

    + 1 x Zombie Chow
    + 2 x Knife Juggler
    + 1 x Coghammer
    + 1 x Cult Master
    + 1 x Murloc Knight
    + 1 x Antique Healbot
    + 2 x Sludge Belcher
    + 1 x Sylvanas Windrunner

There are loads of possibilities. I'm considering cutting Knife Jugglers for Flame Jugglers and use the extra room against aggro decks to drop a chow for a Lay on Hands.

Before the Patron nerf I ran more heavy ended stuff to counter the classes built against patron. I'll upload some statistics later.

    The World Championship is starting.

As for Midrange Pally I usually run 1 Quarter Master because running 2 feels too clunky.

Doing the World Championship at the same time as Dreamhack was a pretty bad idea. As much as I love hearthstone, CS:GO is far better to watch.

Quartermaster is basically your win condition in midrange/control paladin. In mine, I ran 2x Quartermaster and a Justicar. It does struggle against aggro decks like face hunter, so adding anti-aggro tech cards helps a lot.

Tried out one copy of Quartermaster in a couple of decks today, it definitely showed up when I got to play it. Thanks for the advice/clarification, everyone. Plotless, especially. It was very helpful.

Would anyone be interested in an in-house Hearthstone tournament? I can't promise any prizes (besides bragging rights).

I'd love to, but a big problem is that there's probably an even split across regions, so a lot of people might not be able to play.

Played Mech Hunter for my rank 5 climb this season because I'm weird.

It's not that bad, but there's no reason to play it over the standard hunter ever unless you're just really dumb.

    I'm really dumb.

Weird decks are fun. I'm seeing if I can climb to rank 5 next season using only mill druid, since I actually climbed from 7 to 6 when I was messing about.

Mill rogue is sort of decent? The ability to gang up deathlords and healbots is surprisingly good in this aggro heavy meta. It also completely destroys priests of all flavors.

I've tried both, and I prefer druid for consistency, as mill rogue is really hit and miss with starts. I'm also trying my hand at a MTG-style control shaman. I'll upload a decklist when I'm done with it.

Hearthstone is wonderful. If anybody on NA wants to talk/play/whatever, my tag is Silly#1120.

Also, getting the free pack from the tavern brawl regardless of whether or not you win this week is a nice touch. But I'm afraid I'm going to get into a game and my partner will instantly concede for the free pack, and I'm never going to actually get to play this mode.

Opened a golden Nat Pagle recently. I had to put him in a deck.

    Decklist

It's really awful, and I probably lose like 60% of my games with it, but I'm having a lot of fun with it. I have achieved the Nat Pagle lethal at least twice.

I'm after a new deck for this season. I've only really played Aggro secret pally and midrange secret pally. I need some variety. I have a handlock deck as well.

I'm interested in a mage deck, but how much do you need the Flamewakers? I've got no intention of spending $30 and playing countless solo adventures just to get that card.

I've seen people saying it's up there with Boom as one of the best cards.

Dragon priest is out for the same reason I'd say. So yeah, what are some interesting decks at the moment? Some kind of mech deck would be interesting. Mech rogue perhaps? Mech mage?

It really depends on the state of your collection, but if you're interested in playing Mage you're probably in luck because there are plenty of different Mage archetypes.

Tempo Mage is a big one, but Flamewaker is a staple of that deck. So we'll ignore that for now.

Mech Mage is another variant. It plays aggressively like Tempo Mage but relies a little bit less on spells and more on minions and doesn't require Flamewaker. I think Mech Mage might be the most accessible Mage deck.

Freeze Mage is one of my favorite decks, and is a control-combo hybrid. It uses primarily cards from the classic set, and is relatively cheap for a control deck, but it's still much more dust heavy than a lot of aggressive decks.

Finally, there are Control Mage variants, which play similar to Freeze in the early game but have no wombo combo turns in the late game. Instead they grind out their opponents slowly until they win.

Let me know what sounds interesting and I'll try to link some lists.

Mech mage is arguably the best mech variant and doesn't require waker. It's also pretty cheap outside of fel reavers, and potentially archmage.

Patron is, perhaps surprisingly, a very real deck, which only really require grommash and boom. One of my friends ended last season as #6 legend with it.

I'd be interested in seeing a list for control Mage and mech Mage. Cheers.
