Pretty much, yeah. Barrier to entry keeps getting higher and higher as time goes on and they release new sets that have "required" cards.

Technically you can jump in and lose a bunch with inferior decks if you want, but it's probably not going to be fun.

Unless you like Arena, like me. Arena never changes. :D

Edit: Though that's also a bad thing. Since Arena also never changes for the better. Lol. Fuckin' Hearthstone.

I was in a pretty similar situation recently. You'll be able to play some decks, especially ones where you can craft the cards you need. But for others you need to buy the single player adventure shut, which are like $25 each, and there's 3 of them. I don't wanna spend that much more on the game, considering the amount I spent on packs early.

This limits the decks I can play significantly. So I just end up playing arena really. I think I prefer arena anyway.

    Combo druid is strong too.

If you wanna laugh, panda your Reno for a second heal.

    I'm playing MalyLock and MalyRogue...

I've a thing for Malygos, lol

Entomb doesn't really lead to tempo priest per se - what it did is strengthen control priest by allowing it to replace threats in your deck.

So instead of running Ysera/Boom/Sylvanas - you just take theirs.

Justicar Trueheart is critical for the deck, but it's the only 'threat' you run. Otherwise just control stuff - Chows, Soulpriests, Circle of Healing, Belchers, Thoughtsteals, Lightbomb/Nova, etc.

I prefer having 2 flash heals in there personally since it gives you some burst to combo with soulpriest + upgraded hero power. Without it handlock/reno lock is impossible once they get jaraxxus out.

As far s the meta goes, it's pretty heavily Tempo Mage, Midrange Combo Druid, Secret and Midrange Paladin Variants, Zoo and Reno Lock, and Aggro/Overload Shaman.

Difficult yes, but both Face Hunter and Aggro Shaman are rather cheap dust investments, once you have the expansion cards, and are both respectable in the meta right now. Hearthstone is in a really weird place where Warrior is an actively poor choice for laddering right now, so Aggro Shaman is really good the whole way up.

Really? Cause I've been watching both control and patron warrior climb the ladder just fine.

That thing is an exercise in frustration. I swear if I see one more person coin into Lorewalker on t1 I am going to have an aneurysm.

    Lorewalker Shmorewalker.

My mate and I OTKO'd him. Win condition is Millhouse.

Druid gets Millhouse and moonkin in hand, plays both, mage plays ancient mage, drake and whatever other spell damage they already have and unleash all the spells they've got in hand. Arcane blasts were hitting for like 16? I think? I had thaddius and a few minions up too just in case :D

Hardest part was surviving until then, lol.

There's something immensely satisfying in queuing up with some random person with limited communication options but still managing to work together and win.

    I enjoy these.

I didn't even know Cho and Milhouse were in the decks. I got my pack by enabling a pair of Arcane Blasts for 16, followed by Roaring him down to the point of Medivh hopefully having 6 damage from hand. (He had a 12dmg Pyro.)

Played it. I think that the previous one had more interaction between the two players, but co-op is and always will be incredibly fun.

Opponent down to six health, and he plays a Doomsayer to prevent me from putting anything on the board.

Little does he know that he's facing someone who does not shy from the RNG. I embrace it.

So I put down Dr. Boom, and while his Doomsayer destroys everything, my Boombots hit for eight and kill him.

    Fear my Esports.

Are there rewards at the end based on how much you win this thing? Or is it just the pack at the start?

I don't think I've had Tirion in the Brawl yet. Murloc Knights, on the other hand, are kind of a dime a dozen. Not that I'm complaining.

Ancient shades are awesome. So confused when people play Gang Up or Ambushers...
