Still think we'll get cool reaction scenes in the next episode, considering the resurrection was saved for last scene and with no one in the room.

I actually liked the Bran bit, surprisingly. I like him more as he gets a bit older.

Faith Militant is going to get rolled soon, for which I can't wait.

The site I use doesn't have episode previews. Is it up on youtube or somewhere easily accesible?

I'm rather disappointed in how easily Roose went down, but maybe I expected more from him than I should. Or he's just another old mastermind from the books that the show decided to kill off quickly in the sixth season, so they could focus on younger characters.

Ramsay will definitely be gone after this season. There is almost nothing left for him to do, but spectacularly fail when he has it all.

Euron doesn't look anything like he should, but fortunately the actor seems to portrait him well enough (though he sound a lot like Ewan McGregor to me). Same goes for the three-eyed raven, but it's an acceptable price for having Max von Sydow play him.

Tommen is weak as ever, even if he wants to change, but his weakness is Cersei's strength after he asked for her help. At the moment I would say that the High Sparrow isn't going to survive their next meeting.

And lastly, Jon is back. They better give us some reactions to this little fact from the main characters in the next episode.

I liked the episode, but I thought Bolton should have suffered more before he died. People are being killed off left and right and it's too quick.
Was I the only one who thought Cersei might kill her son?
I hope we meet the White walkers again next episode. All in all it was a great beginning of my week to see GOT. I lol'd at Tyrion's response to releasing the dragons as well.

Something I didn't notice until it was pointed out by other people. When Balon talks with Euron and the bridge sways, he notices that his brother stands easily while he needs to help himself with his hands. After that he stops it to prove that he still has his seas legs. It's a nice touch in their interactions.

Definitely not now, but I wouldn't be surprised if she was forced to mercy kill him in the future as she was planning in the second season. It would be enough to make her completely insane and try to burn King's Landing, as some speculations say may happen.

That or she will emotionally manipulate him into doing it for her, as much as i enjoyed seeing Cersei get her comeuppance the faith militant need to be taken down a peg or two.

I cannot wait for tonight's episode! I am holding on to the slim hope that we will actually see the full tower of joy scene rather than just the fight. Unfortunately I think that reveal will come later in the season if it comes at all. Although the theory is pretty much confirmed I could imagine George RR Martin throwing a curve ball into the mix..

I would like for the full ToJ scene to happen instead of prolonging it, but from the show's (and casual viewers') point of view, they still need to include more build up to this revelation because I doubt many remember who Rhaegar was suppose to be. While it's going to be handled in dialogues, I think giving us a short vision of the tourney at Harrenhal, of the moment when Lyanna is chosen to be he new queen of love and beauty, would work a lot better.

As much as it is confirmed that R+L = J, Ashara Dayne's story is so tragic I sort of hope she is Jon's mother. I had completely forgotten about her until I saw one of the theories on reddit.

Regarding the Tower of Joy, I don't know. We do need some sort of exposition for those who have forgotten who Rhaegar even is but at the same time I don't feel they'd tease the shit out of it to not deliver anything besides the fight. Maybe a Lyanna reveal at the end of the episode, setting up for back story explanation on future episodes?

I hadn't considered a tournament flashback, that would be very interesting to see. I would love to see Elia and Rhaegar appear at some point this season. If they are showing part of the tower of joy tonight then they must provide some explanation as to what is happening, so I am still holding onto my small hope that we will see a reveal tonight instead of in the final episode!

    Fairly unsurprising episode.

Hope we get a Harrenhal flashback with Rhaegar and Lyanna next, just for a nice little leadup into R+L=J, which seems all but confirmed now. That scream was very childbirth-esque.

That said, I hope they don't drag it out too long. At this point, I care far more about Jon's future role than I do about his origins.

Also, dead Olly is best Olly.

P.S. did anyone else catch the three eyed raven say he'd been in the tree for a thousand years? So..... show version is not Brynden Rivers?

wtf is the show doing with the Umbers?

That scene when he brought in Osha, Rickon and slammed Shaggy's head down on the table was so fucking dumb. Ramsay literally just said the Umbers are notoriously loyal to the Starks. Like, what fucking reason do the Umber's have to turn over Rickon and kill his wolf? I'm really hoping the Umbers are taking the place of the Manderly's and are playing Ramsay.

They probably are. I know they mentioned the Manderlys before but the Umbers are far more recognizable because of Great Jon appearing before on the show. That wolf head is probably a fake and the sole reason they used Rickon instead of a fake is so that show viewers don't decipher everything since episode 3. At least that is what I hope.

I felt the opposite. It was very underwhelming, and seeing Arthur Dayne dual wielding instead of using Dawn ruined it for me. He's called the Sword of the Morning because he wields the Sword of the Morning. It's like seeing Daenerys, mother of dragons, only without dragons.

Agreed. I've been doing some wiki reading and am considering reading the books. The dual wielding was just weird, especially with two big-ass swords. I think the one Ned used to kill Dayne may have been Dawn, but who knows. Jon vs Styr and Oberyn vs Mountain are still my favorite fights. Tower just looked kind of... un-cool.

The episode was overall underwhelming for me. Jon's exit was the best moment. I want him to just go scorched earth on everyone and everything now that he's died and come back. Dany's scene was just ugh. I couldn't care less about Sam&Gilly's Un-excellent Adventure and seeing Tyrion out of his element was painful. He belongs in King's Landing.

I liked that Umber gave no shits about Ramsay's poor attempts at lording, that's not what Ramsay's for anyway. Arya... meh. If her storyline actually gets anywhere I might care. Aaaaand Tommen is still a pussy. Why doesn't he just grab a sword, gut the High Sparrow and parade out of the Great Sept with a bloody blade? I feel like GoT lost its teeth.

    Hoping for more Jon awesomeness.

I thought they made it clear when they highlighted Dayne stabbing his sword into the ground before the standoff. And centered it, the sunburst of Dorne displayed proudly (or the starfall of Dayne?) on the pommel. IT was a big deal. Just because he has another doesn't discredit Dawn. He's the best. Why shouldn't he have another?

MonkeyEpoxy, to me dual wielding huge swords like those just looks bad. I actually liked that he was quick even in full plate, but the dual wielding seems like it was thrown in just because Dayne was a legendary badass and we've seen enough badass swordsmanship on the show that maybe they thought two swords would really drive the point "BADASS RIGHT HERE". Sure, it differentiated him from everyone else we've seen on the show (just like Oberyn's spear) but those swords were massive. If multiple blades must be involved, I much prefer what they did with Bronn - he's got a handy dagger ready for a quick draw.

This post really descended into nitpicking, so I'll stop now.
