Let's not try to go further into this than we need to. We're getting into paradox territory.

Well I'll be happier just thinking that Bran is essentially a pawn of fate himself.

You know when bloodraven told bran that, It's time for you to become me. He must have known this would happen. With what happened, he made sure that bran would use this power to only learn from the past, never too change it, Just like bloodraven.

That Hodor scene was so gut-wrenching.

Didn't the Three Eyed Raven state something to the effect of: "You'll get stuck" if you stay too long/do too much? Also, in the books don't a bunch of characters hear whispers in the wind when around the weirwood trees? That could be different greenseers from throughout time--but they could only produce whispers?

There are definitely limits to what one can do. That, and Bran may just be really powerful.

On that note, Bran might just be the most badass character in the series:

Would be nice if that was actually readable.

Just open the image. It clearly doesn't translate well to DLP but I found it perfectly legible.

So who else felt like Littlefinger drove a little wedge between Sansa and Jon with his specific words during their scene? When Sansa says she doesn't want his help, she has an army.

    "--your brothers army." "--half-brother."

And then the next time you see them when they are planning their next move, you can almost see an odd tension when Sansa says Jon doesn't have the Stark name, but she does. When she fumbles when Davos counter-argues, Jon steps in and Sansa didn't look very happy about it. They both exchange some long, telling looks in this scene. Jon seems like he is still trying to figure Sansa out.

I feel like she wants to be in control but as Littlefinger pointed out, the Wildlings, if they belong to anyone, belong to Jon and not her. I think this is part of the reason Sansa lied about where she got her information. Part of her trusts Jon to the hilt, but the other side of her that Littlefinger has screwed wants total control, so she can take her revenge on her terms.

It's why following all this, you get that scene where she gifts him, essentially, Ned Stark's cloak.

Or I was high when I watched this.

I've also just ignored the teleporting characters. Littlefinger isn't the only one.

Yeah -- "It is beautiful under the sea, but if you stay for too long you'll drown."

I loved how they made it so that, when Meera's shouting at Bran to wake up while he's inside his vision, he hears her voice as if it's somewhere far away, dreamlike, almost as if you're underwater and you only vaguely hear sounds propagating through the air above. Ties in nicely with that quote.

Also, good point about the whispers around the weirwood trees.

Dark Syaoran: I was almost surprised LF didn't say "cousin" instead. To foreshadow R + L = J. He's in the job of knowing things, goddammit.

There were only ever what, two or three people who knew about Jon's parentage? One of those had his head bounce down the steps of Baelor's Sept a while back having never said a word about it. The other lives in an inaccessible bog marsh, having never set foot outside or been seen by a PoV character in that time. We don't know if Benjen ever knew, and the only implication that anyone else knows is in the line "They had found him still holding her body, silent with grief."

Littlefinger is competent, but not supernaturally so. Two people may keep a secret if one of them is dead, and that is exactly the situation we find ourselves in. None know but Howland Reed, and he's in no hurry to tell anybody.

It also wouldn't be so much foreshadowing if he said cousin so much as a mushroom stamp to the face. There are only four possibilities for Jon's parentage if he were her cousin. Benjen, who was at Winterfell when Eddard arrived with the child. Edmure, who was a child during the rebellion. Lysa, which is lol. And Lyanna, the only real option. There is no way that they would cast aside such a momentous reveal to make Littlefinger look good.

I'm not saying it's plausible or good for plot development, I'm saying it would have been cool and impressive in the exact sort of way that fucks up all kinds of shit for the characters. The "half-brother" comment doesn't mindfuck Sansa nearly as much as that would have.

Having Littlefinger know R+L=J would be the least implausible thing he's done in recent episodes/seasons. I mean his "teleporting" alone is making me think he's a pair of twins living a single life like the Prestige.

Not only that, but how did he get an entire army to Moat Cailin? Howland Reed just let him pass through the Neck?

And how/why did they take it from Ramsay's forces? I mean they took it back over, right? That was the whole point of what Theon/Reek did there, right? To take it back from the Ironborn? Did they just immediately abandon the place?

This is what I'm saying. There's a lot of nonsense that's happened this and (especially) last season that just don't make any sense if given even a little bit of thought.

I just hope that D&D won't string us around and keep R+L=J for season 7.

The outrage after The Walking Dead's cliffhanger this season would be nothing compared to fans' reaction if they decided to prolong this secret for another season. We may wait till 10th episode, but I'm 99% sure they will reveal it this year.

You think non-readers care? Or that even those who have glancingly read the books care? Look at any reaction clip on youtube, you'll see how much the casuals care. :sherlock:

Man, what a downgrade that episode was from last week. Arya's about-face, the Coldhands/Benjen reveal, Sparrow's political triumph, and Dany's sudden ability to effectively control Drogon / ensuing 'rousing' speech were all so rushed and sloppy that it destroyed any potential poignant moments.

Honestly, the best parts of that episode were comprised of Sam and Gilly's domestic and pointless adventure at Horn Hill. And Sam and Gilly suck.
