Did you not see the scene with Margaery? She has something planned, and she needs her grandmother outside the city and safe with Tyrell forces to do it. That's why she slipped her the note with their house's sigil, to signify that she had not broken.

Viewtiful: Did you not see the scene with Margaery? I mean, I understand that perhaps you don't quite get that her slipping Olenna the piece of parchment with the sigil of House Tyrell as a symbol of her remaining unbroken might be too subtle, but come on man. It's better if Olenna leaves. She's just made herself and Mace open enemies of the Faith Militant and the High Sparrow, and they'll be more secure in the base of their power, Highgarden, than continuing to dick around in King's Landing.

Yes, I saw that scene, as 'subtle' as it was, and I maintain it's absolute nonsense that she's just leaving Loras as a prisoner because Margaery might have a plan. Like, if she was totally unwilling to make a move against the faith because she deems it too much of a risk, fine, but she marched up to the Great Sept with an army literally days previously. Show!Margaery wasn't even in on the plan to assassinate Joffrey, it makes no sense for Olenna to leave saving Loras up to chance.

Whatever though, characters have been beyond stupid on the show for a while now. At least Lyanna Mormont and Wun-Wun are cool.

I feel like you're being overly harsh because it didnt go the way you wanted. Olenna's plan failed so now she's going to put faith in her granddaughter, who she loves and respects. That simple

I enjoyed this episode a lot and it might be due to the abundance of progression on (almost) all fronts leading up to and building towards a satisfying tie-up of several storylines without too much bullshit and several badass scenes, but on the other hand I think I can just as easily credit this episode's success to lack of anything to do with Dany.

Even now, years later, I fail to see how anyone finds her and her story threads interesting, enjoyable or root-able.

Lyanna Mormont was badass. I want her as queen.

On Dany, her whole storyline never really made sense to me. What is she expecting in Westeros? A warm welcome? People will be scared of her because of her dragon but how long will that last if she can't continue the Targaryen lineage because of she can no longer have children(maybe this is not true, she only thinks she can't)? Also on the show it just seems all her scene are either boring Mereen scenes or "oooh aahh" "woooo woman powa look i have a dragonz!!" scenes where she shouts some pep talk to her warband of rapists and butchers.

Yeah bringing a ton of Dothraki to rape and pillage Westerosi villages is really going to endear her to the population. C'mon now. I get annoyed when my show-only friends absolutely love "Khaleesi" but don't realize she is about to bring a whole lot of misery to Westeros with the Dothraki.

Is he back? Probably not, but the actor playing him joined the fun and teased his return on Twitter.

I thought Bastardbowl was today. There are no words to describe my disappointment.

Also, sad that the Blackfish died off-screen. Would've preferred another of his scenes rather than literally all of the Meereen scenes or yet longer soulful gazes between Brienne and Jaime who seems to change moods and personalities faster than Waif(or whatever she's called) changes faces.

Arya sequences were cool. She always gets the best soundtracks.

This episode was markedly better than the last two, but we're still not quite back up to the awesome of the first half of the season.

Fuck no. Last episodes was loads better. This was a snoozefest for most of it, fun as it is watching Sandor (and unGregor) murder people.

For that matter, 'I choose violence' failed to deliver. I did a sadface.

Underwhelmed. At least there promises to be a ton of action next episode.

And hopefully no Dany...though that would mean we get episode 10 chock full of her. Not sure which I'd prefer.

Catelyn Stark sure was talked about a lot in this episode. Makes you wonder if they were reminding the audience about her for the big reveal of Stoneheart (plz God) :D

I'm kinda wondering exactly what Arya is going to do now. It's not like she can affect anything on her own unless she decides to wander Westeros assassinating the people she hates like Walder Frey, Cersei, Jaime etc.

Also, it's pretty obvious Littlefinger is going to ride in to save the day (bleh, I'd prefer the Umber's turncloaking on Ramsay). He's probably going to try to get Jon away from Sansa either through attempted assassination or driving a wedge between him and Sansa. Honestly, I would be surprised if Jon stays in Winterfell for long. I can see him going South to meet with Dany when she takes Westeros, stopping in the Neck to meet with Howland Reed and learning of his true heritage and so on.

This is exactly what she's going to do. The only reason the Faceless Men would let her go is because she's going to serve their god anyway and kill as many on her list as she can.

I can't figure out what they plan to do with Jaime. They make him into a villain and then they give him scenes with Brienne that contrary to rumours didn't end with them breaking up.

The same goes for the King's Landing. Do I miss something about Cersei's trail? Because I was pretty sure that if she's going to lose then it means Tommen is a bastard, not a king. Is he not aware of it?

It was a second pointless scene between Tyrion and Dany's advisors. Peter Dinklage really doesn't have any good material to work with this season. Only his interactions with Varys were decent. And their goodbye had a finality to it making me unsure if they will ever meet again.

The Hound vs. the White Walkers? Bring it on.

That was a good episode, but I'm again disappointed by the lack of the R+L=J reveal. Though I guess it makes sense to save it for the finale. Episode 10 better be fucking amazing.

Arya was the star of the episode, not just because of the title. I like how she (apparently) combined her blind fighting training with water dancing to skewer the Wait. Glad to see the bitch dead.

It's a disgrace how Peter Dinklage was wasted this season, but everything else was good. I really like that the plot is actually moving pretty fast this season. A lot of stuff has happened and there's more to go - the Bastardbowl and I'm expecting R+L=J in the finale.

Yeah, overall, season 6 has been pretty fucking good.

Amusingly enough, there are almost confirmed rumours that it will not happen, something that Taure predicted. We most likely will get the rest of the ToJ scene, but not an outright R+L=J reveal. If that happens then I'm like 75% sure D&D only do that because they like GRRM and wanted to give him one last chance to have it first in the book. I wouldn't be surprised if we get the tourney at Harrenhal in the next season as the final build up.

While I like how she did it, it was a little disappointing to not get the Terminator... I mean, the Waif's face when she realized that Arya beat her.

So glad we got to watch 20 episodes of Arya get the shit beat out of her for that anticlimax.

I think the whole scene would have been better served if Arya had faked the panicked bunny routine. Like, instead of the whole fleeing for her life shtick.

    Scenario:

Smirking, the waif enters the room seeing Arya wounded and panting. But then someone outside (mayhaps an accomplice of Arya's) bars the entrance. Arya stands up slowly, calmly, no longer panting, and she pulls out Needle.

She looks at the sword, then looks at the waif, and says, "What do we say to the god of death?"

    The she cuts the candle.

    --

Would have given so much meaning to all her levels of training if she'd had a greater measure of confidence / foresight in that encounter.

You're describing exactly what happened, only with a cool one-liner and with someone closing the door instead of Waif.

Exactly. Her lack of confidence undermines her journey.

What's more in line with the ideology of Syrio and the faceless men? Fleeing for safety to the room she's stashed her sword, or faking it all and luring the waif to her death?
