I don't remember that, but it sure makes sense. I just assumed the list she was recited was simply so she didn't forget anyone, and she wasn't going to forget the two sons.

 

I just had a weird idea, could the night king, the original white walker, be a stark ancestor? I don't why I think this but I just can't get it out of my head.

The sword known as dawn, belongs to house dayne. I am pretty sure that they old Royal family has that blood in their lineage. So if it comes down to it ,Jon has a blood claim to get the sword to use against the enemy.

 

There's actually a pretty good chance that is true. The name of the Night's King was stricken from all records, presumably by order of whichever Stark ruled the North at the time. If he was also a Stark, it would explain why they wanted all trace of his identity erased.

I'm pretty sure the Night's King wasn't the first Other though, right? I think he was born after the Long Night and the Wall had already been built as he was the 13th Lord Commander.

 

I thinking some fans are simply calling the first white walker the night king for the lack of a name.

Is it strange that we heard so much about this cool magic sword, the only one actually native to westeros, but it is stuck at home while everyone is fighting this war? It may well be older than the free hold, it could be the last dragon steel blade. Fake Aegon has supposed dayne blood, so attempt to use the sword. This will let it travel north allowing for it to get to Jon. It is said to glow, in Jons hands it will burn.

Jon has his duel heritage , his Warg nature to link to creature, and his dragon lord blood allowing him access to dragon fire and power. Could he combine the two? Use his link to draw directly upon dragon fire/magic. The thing is he also has a third heritage, he has dayne blood, meaning he has Rhyone blood, so water magic. That might give him a boost.

The three dragons are a huge advantage, so some think they will be killed. What if the night king simply summons an ice dragon for the battle?

If the original white walker was a stark, it would explain how the actual night king came to be. He was able to corrupt him directly partially due their common blood

Quoted for truth. Definitely my favorite ASOIAF books, by quite a bit. Reading the original series I can't help but feel like GRRM overreaches again and again, more as the books go on, and fumbles a lot of plots. There's also the problem with his large story telling, he's not very good at showing or even creating the great picture an epic story demands.

Not with the Hedge Knight Tales, with them he's at home doing what he does best, and to my eternal happiness, reconstructing the White Knight and Errant Knight mythos in an awesome way. Plus, Dunk is just awesome.

Varys reports kraken attacks in a Storm of Swords, and they're mentioned along with dragons on several occasions.

 

No one knows what dragon steel is, so it could be what dawn is made of or it could just be Valyrian steel. It is simply claimed that dawn is star metal, and even if it is, who knows what the prices to create it is.

 

Dawn isn't Valyrian steel. It is said to be "as pale as milkglass", unlike any other Valyrian steel blade. And yes, it is made from a fallen star, hence the Dayne castle of Starfall. There's no narrative reason for GRRM to lie about its origin.

 

I said that dragon steel MIGHT be valerian steel, but I doubt it. I had this theory that dragon steel was made using obsidian, as it is known as dragon glass. Dawn is referred as milk glass, so this makes me wonder about my theory.

 

With many photos from the show's sets, we finally have some big revelations about the next season events. While expected, it's nice to have confirmation that some of the biggest meetings between characters will indeed happen the next year.

No word from GRRM about his book. For people who like betting on things, will TWoW be published before:
- the 7th season,
- the series' ending,
- the next DF book (Butcher is really slowing down with this series and there is at least 8 more books to go),
- Evangelion 3.0+1.0.
