Atum can’t fake his mindset as town. Easy read is easy.

Newcomb is bae and he kicked Jan’s ass Day 1. That’s not an interaction he could have faked.

Tom is being blatantly scummy. In the previous game, he tried to hide his scum motivation and be subtle about pushing the lump elsewhere. Here he’s making reads for no reason, pushing anti town agendas like troll lynching and late wagon switches right out in the open.

Miner’s reaction to people scumreading him was both genuine or town. Were he scum, I would have expected some sort of omgus or tryharding. Instead he self-reflected. He also had a point about me mislynching him last time despite my initial strong townread. Also the townslip was probably real and the way he was paranoid about the zenzao lynch was solid.

I dislike most of yog’s content. But, I don’t know him, I do know fluff, and fluff was town:
Fluff’s scumplay is, uh, not the best, so I’m pretty sure this is real.

Fishy’s just kind of there. Lot of reads, not much reasoning. I liked this post:
Because it was chill, but I’m not going to clear him off of it.

Jan’s mechanics and reads are mostly solid, and I liked the way he smacked the people voting me early only, but there’s this vague sense of something missing from his posts. Meh.

In order for Rubicon to be telling the truth about consistently lying as town, he would have to have absolutely no regard for others attempting to read him in a game where he was already unlikely to die in the night. As scum, he gives himself a blank check of his early lazy behavior. In addition, reading back over his posts, a portion of his reads and posts make sense, indicating that they were not randomized. My initial townread, based on the idea that he wasn’t trying hard enough to be townread, is now moot. Do not lynch Rubicon.

This also matches the kills: Zenzao and Von. The scum team isn’t worried about people like me and Newcomb, who will solve the game. They’re staunching the bleeding, killing current townreads instead of preventing the creation of new ones, because they believe they can work their way into that new towncircle.

I think the team is just Rubicon and Jan, but I could also see Fishy in there. I will settle for the lynch of any of my towncircle today. I would prefer to be lynched, confirming myself and my reads, so long as the majority in this game concedes to them. I will consent to live if those requirements are not met.

(This is a casual reminder that making sure the majority are voting for the same lynch becomes more important in endgame. Don’t fuck it up.)

    Vote: fontisian

I am fine with killing Atum.

    Your read on me is

    a. weak
    b. careless

You can do better than this.

If you die in the night that is fine, but for now, let us lynch in your towncircle.

Tom's play as my partner here would be nonsensical bordering on gamethrow-y. Mine too, come to think of it. I came at him with a strong meta scumread, he then proceeded to kick up a ton of dust about me being scum and the metaread being trash. He's actively worked against my inevitable townread, and I've been calling him scum all game. From an outside PoV it's reasonable to think we're v/w, or possibly v/v though that would make the game a little ~weird~, but if that were the actual team I have to think we'd have seen something other than me calling him mafia out of the gate, and him passive-aggressively sniping at me all game.

Like. I still am viscerally opposed to a tom lynch, and I'm assuming he's opposed to lynching me. That can't possibly be a winning move as scum? I have no idea how I'd have acted if I'd rolled w/w with tom, but this is... not it.

I'll trade you the answers to your other two questions for an articulated, well-reasoned case on why you think someone in this game could be scum.

I mean, you could be town.

Do you disagree with any of my townreads?

I think there is one between Newcomb and Tom most likely. offchance of both.

I think your newcomb townread is boring and bullshit and not at all outside of his scumrange.

He can be town, but he is not sure town.

If you like Newcomb as town, why don't you care about the case on tom, which is a meta case and as such might be damning. No?

I get why you think tom lolcatting is town!tom, but considering that it is strongly against his wincon as either alignment to do it this game it does not make it a thing for town to do. it is null.

Atum and Yog are likely town.
Miner not that sure on. He reads similar to the other game, but I would look at him afterwards.

    ---------- Post automerged at 19:38 ---------- Previous post was at 19:36 ----------

The town case you made for newcomb as well as the maybe scum case you made on me are so careless and underdeveloped that you should actually get your head out of your ass and read the game.

    Horses. Zebras.

I think he'd be more inclined to hard-switchup his style exactly one game after getting pretty well smacked down in TinyHunt.

I think that game in particular was not super indicative of his scumplay. Look at SG-1 - there was less/very little outright trolling, but you see the same pattern of super shallow reads and relying on TWTBAW to attempt to clear himself.

    Not hunting Scum.

    Hunting Town.

Not giving a reads list, as there is no legitimate pro-Town strategic benefit in that until Day 4.

I'm just going to assume all scumreads on me are people trolling me back.

Also, fontisian's NK spec is ????

I think there's at least one mime between Newcomb/Tom and I suspect they're bussing, but we have a big pile of townies to lynch before it matters.

Do you agree with me that if I'm town, Tom's read on me indicates he knows I'm town?

You get that this is why I don't think you're town, right?

I'm not sure I can go into more detail on my Newcomb read, because it's pretty basic. I see him having town thought processes. Boom, done.

Newcomb, from my understanding of tom, and I think I get him pretty well, he genuinely doesn't care about being townread here because he's here to have fun. He's competitive enough that if he were scum, he would try to get townread a bit (see: the way he read me in the last game) but he's lax enough as town that doing crazy stuff feels more important to him (hence all the stuff about him writing in verse).

    Another thing.

You are saying Newcomb could not fake his d1 thing as scum.

Are you saying he could not fake it if we are both scum?

Because if that is all youa re townreading him for and you then say that i could as well just be town, in your follow up, then your townread on him makes 0 sense.

Like really. With reads like that, no way you are dying today.

    Vote Atum

Regardless about your alignment, you won't lie about that read, because you actually read him pretty well. (if he actually is scum then you would just be outted and lose the game).

Yeah, me trolling is decidedly not a town tell.
    Just a tom tell.

The worst part of newcomb's metaread is that it is based on my very first scum game, and 3rd game of mafia overall.
This would be my 5th scumgame for god's sake. And it's a jester game.
Like, how is that even gonna be analogous?
That is in addition to it being wrong anyway, which no one is gonna check but whatever.

Yeah... I'm having trouble putting my finger on exactly what it is, but there is a huge qualitative difference in how Newcomb is playing here versus what I've seen of his town play.

    The spark just isn't there.

I think my townread on Jan is purely because his reads align with mine.

    This is 100% bullshit.

You are making things up as you go right now. You know it, i know it, and i have no idea why.

Like it does not make sense as either alignment to spout lies. like this.

This is not why you thought i might not be town initially.

And what I am saying is true.

Your read on tom is uncooked because he said himself that he is playing to have fun, not to win.
Which is true for both alignments.
And that is why what you are saying is not indicative for his alignment.
He can be town yes, but what you reading him town for is not alignment indicative.
