In terms of directly asking, yes.
In terms of trying to be town -- making an effort to be lynchable -- no.

The truest thing I've said in this game is that I only trust myself to get lynched when everything is riding on it.

You have a very narrow opinion of how one should go about this game.
It's what makes you town, but it's also terrible.

Ok. Look at my strategy. Look at fonti's. Then newcomb, yog, fishy, jan, and yourself.
Two of those people are scum.
Which of them are trying to win as scum in the way you think they should?

Is the answer none of them?
Ok, then your theory is wrong.

All are making an effort to appear town, with varying levels of success.

When I say "trying to look town" I mean they want to, and are taking at least some action in that direction.

Any list of "trying to look town" with me on it is flawed.
But ok, there's different rubrics of towniness.

    Solviness is a good one.
    That list goes newcomb>font>rubi>tom>yog>jan>fishy
How about having joking around? Is that a town trait?
    yog>tom>newcomb>jan>fishy>font>rubi
    How about subtle language tells?
    rubi>yog>font>newcomb>fishy>jan>tom

What I'm saying is there are many different ways to go about appearing townie. Especially in this game.

We're having this conversation for a reason, aren't we?

Guessing you haven't had much experience with solve-y font before, or we have different definitions of that term. Or solve-y Newcomb either, for that matter.

Gonna be honest, I don't see what this has to do with my point. You look at people's actions, which are wildly different, in context of their playstyles, which are also wildly different, and judge their intentions.

Anyway! Jan/Newcomb team that doesn't believe they can win anymore - too obvious or just obvious enough?

That is almost definitely the team if me and fishy are somehow town.
Best evidence for it is that they are doing almost exactly what jan accused newcomb and I of doing.

    ---------- Post automerged at 11:20 ---------- Previous post was at 11:20 ----------

And sure. You can be ahead of font on solviness if you want.

This is the 2nd time I see something from someone i have/had in my townpile and it just rubs me the wrong way.

I will call him Fluffsloth for now, here is a picture :

2 times now you attacked Newcomb from the weirdest warped angle I have seen in a long time.
I didn't want to interfere yesterday because Garcia and let's see where that interaction goes, but .. there is a limit.

both posts of the new sloth in town :
    #580 + #654

With those links you can see the quotes he is referring to, which is important for context.
    #580 :
Slothy talks about Newcombs read on fonti/atum.
He first attacks Newcomb for agreeing with an Atum lynch, while Newcomb himself doesn't share the read with fonti and therefore is not following his own reads. (Newcomb mentioned that Fonti has a really good Atum read and is therefore trusting her on that one).
His 2nd half of that accusation is important. here it is :
Newcomb is very open about the fact that Fonti is his top townread.
How is him going against said "temperature in the room" and trusting his read on fonti not trusting his "reads"? (You can adept a townread of your top townread if you are sure they have a good read on the other person, not a big deal at all)
The accusation does not make a lot of sense. To add on to that is the fact that most people in thread are reading fonti town at the time.

Then he tries to argue that if fonti is Newcombs townread, then he should vote her.
Which he did on several occasions. plus keeping a strong townread alive that you trust to solve the game is a good thing and it forces scums hand to get rid of them.

Ok done with that post .. it reeks of dishonesty to me.

    Next one next one!

    #654 :
Yogs response to Newcomb considering changing his read on me.
This one is bad on two levels.

Before I go into his weird accusation, first one first, if Newcomb is town, then Yog is trying to prevent two people who were on each others asses all game to actually correctly identify each other as town.
A town telling another town to be cautious about their reads and to rethink them is one thing, but he full out attacks him by searching for an angle that basically does not exist and comes to an impossible conclusion.

Let's start slow, it is hot and burying a guy takes some time.

    Newcomb Says :
    Yog responds :
There are a few hiccups in this one.
So basically Newcomb says there are 4 people he might be able to align me with if i flip scum.

Fishy + Rubicon who are both a big maaaybe
And then Yog and fonti who he remarks with probably not

Yogs remarks to this are basically twisting Newcombs words.

He puts Fonti first, who Newcomb basically eliminated (the fact that he mentions her just means he is evaluating the world and his reads and not dismissing anything from the get go).
Then a small line on fish, who Newcomb doesn't have as solid town anymore, which means that is a possible world.
And then a throwaway line about himself with 0 input. I don't even understand why you put that line in there outside of telling the world that they better think you are town.

Jogs conclusion should be that Newcomb is almost always right and from Newcombs perspective a lynch on me should almost always result in town or finding the exact team because Newcomb mentions 4 people as possible partners and Yog can eliminate 3. Fonti/fishy = newcombs town + Yog himself, leaving rubicon as my possible partner partner.

The fact that Yog does not see that is a big reason why I think he is trying to seed doubt between towns.
I have trouble believing he would not try to see both sides of the coin as town and just push the world of doubt.

There is one bonus post that I don't want to analyze too much it just tastes like rotten shoes.
Just read it, let it sink in. This is one of those psots where I am unsure if it is just a wolf or too wolfy to be a wolf.
This is basically a preemptive "hey i gave no or shit reasons for all my votes, but thanks to this post i don't have to talk about it".
    I just dislike it.

All this weighs against the early dumbtell.
I really need people to talk to me about this, because if he is scum then Newcomb is almost always town for the way he attacks him.

Not really. it is a work in progress right now.
But I can give you my thoughts right now.

    Fontisian

    Rubicon
    Fishy Justice

    Newcomb
    Tom
    Yogsloth (r. his Lurkiness)

    Fonti is almost always town.

There is at least one maybe 2 between Newcomb/Tom/Yogsloth.

As of right now Newcomb is the town in there.
If he flips scum then Tom/Yog are very very likely town.
If he flips town then don't touch those two.

Rubicon felt town to me up until he said the I inverted all my reads thing.
It kind of felt like a copycat from a confirmed town (Zenzao who got townread for doing it) without putting in half the amount of effort.

Don't have a real grasp on fishy. Underwhelming to say the least. Staying in the back not actually grabbing attention by his own volition.

Need to go to the store now. interested in hearing people opinion on yog.
