But .. but I want to tempt scum to push me off.

    And the view is breathtaking.

Did you ever stand naked on a cliff with a hammer and a horn full of mead (well half empty by now) and scream Ragnarök.

    Feelsgodman.

Non-zero chance I'm being pocketed by Newcomb, but I don't think he'd pocket me in this way, so.

Man, I've been playing mafia with Rubicon for four years. On one occasion, two years ago, he posted for an irl day without reading his role pm, got chewed out for it, and apologized. Randomizing reads for a solid week is so far beyond that, it's insane. I don't believe he'd do it. I also don't believe he'd townread me and vote for me normally when I'm trying to (not)kill him.

In fact, take a long Jog off a short cliff.

I don't even know what that rubi case means.
It also starts with the assumption we're playing mafia, which, we aren't.
And that switching reads is in any way similar to not reading your role PM, which it isn't.

Why would newcomb not pocket you in this way? It totally worked, so good on him.

It's the similar in that it shows a lack of respect for the people you're playing with. First, we are playing a variation of mafia. Second, Rubicon didn't reverse his reads. He randomized them, as in made shit up as he went along. This means that any reads on him for his reads and arguments are invalid, because he's claiming to have fabricated everything. That's insane.

Newcomb pocketing me in this way is too ... basic. He's pretty terrified of my townplay. If he was trying to pocket me, I suspect he would fake some paranoia about me, but push with my reads.

    ooop, ninja posting.

fontisian, this is exactly the opposite of what I saw.

Go back and look - he did not randomize his reads, he did reverse them. Precisely reversed them.

I thought he claimed to have reversed them, but I'm not really in to checking. I don't think it matters.
If he is, for some insane reason, a person that wouldn't do that as town in a jester game...
Wouldn't he know that and be even less likely to do it as scum?

Like, not giving your real reads is pretty incentivized in this game.
I don't in any way agree that it's some breach of etiquette or against the spirit of the game even without that, but I lie as town all the time.

I also don't tend to read people based on their reads, because that's stupid.

Have you examined all of them?

The Atum and Newcomb reads swapped, sure. But he continued townreading Von, flipped his Citrus read back and forth throughout Day 2, kept his Fishy read consistently slight town, never called Tom town (despite Tom apparently being his strongest scumread when he dropped it) and swapped to a scumread Miner off of one scummy post, only to never bring it up again.

---------- Post automerged at 06:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:15 PM ----------

    Also, literally this.

Rubicon is a more bold player as scum. He fake claims, busses, hard defends, whatever. If he saw a chance to look town off of imitating Zenzao's play as mafia, he would do it.

    fontisian - start here.

Is your current Tom-vote based on your belief Rubicon is a mime, and therefore a simple reverse of his read here? Or do you have an independent read of Tom beyond this?
