Going back and re-reading some Rubicon, I come away strengthened. His reads turned 180 on at least three players and some that he wasn't hard leaning he continued to just not hard lean.

I don't have the advantage of meta, so you've got me on that one... but I can't explain the scum motivation here. Simply aping another player?

I just don't see the... keen Scum blade needed to slice quite this way.

Tom, however, comes off a lot worse in that exchange in my opinion, lol.

Which is why more than ever I'd like to see him in an F5.

I really think we stick with chucking Rubicon and me into the noose first.

If you think my Town flip will help sort the pile more, I am willing to sacrifice another day of playing to go first.

 

I think I already said this, but I decided rubi was town day 1 then stopped paying attention to him.
I was too busy acting scummy and finishing narrowing it down.

Let me go through your iso, maybe I am wrong and you are a busy bee and a voice of reason. I will stop at the point of my accusation earlier today, since everything after that is a reaction after the fact and as that does not count against the accusation.

Actually, this isn't quite true.

Because of the highly unique nature of this game, the first three days it was most beneficial to Town to quickly identify and eliminate the three most obvious Town players without giving a more complete set of reads for Scum to use to generate their kills.

Starting Day 4, the "real" game begins as power completely shifts to Town, as no optimally-played Scum team is going to kill at night, barring some kind of desperation play.

I wasn't here Day 1.

Day 2 Town had already picked the clearly optimal candidate before I got here, so all I had to do was steer things back to that lynch. Once accomplished, no need for me to do much else.

Day 3 the correct consensus was again achieved, and I even made a note that it wasn't yet the right thing to do to completely give reads and do "normal" game-type scumhunting.

Day 4 it's no surprise you see a marked uptick in my tryhard.

I'm going through the progression of where I attacked him, he attacked me back, him reading always one between me/tom and then we kinda felt each other out on D2 or D3, can't remember, and now this...

I just can't really fathom scum!Jan taking this line with me. My entire case is essentially a metaread based on Jan scumtrolling me and this is /not/ that, nor can I really see this as a hail-mary attempt to buddy me - it's like, he's already dragged me through the mud, what would be the point?

 

Plus, I entered the game with a sub's mindset, rather than as an initial player, and it's just sort of organically morphed into a full-scale game mindset for me.

Meaning, my job as a late-Day2 sub townie coming in was basically just to get out of Town's way, and in this unique setup, try to grab a lynch. The sub's job isn't to come in and be the solve-all. Especially as a site newb. The sub's job is to just try and add to his team's wincon without being the center of attention.

But then a funny thing happened and I started to really have fun!

I think Jan is the lynch toDay because him flipping town basically makes everything click into place and confirms the world.

Analyze votes?! Which is almost always useless in this setup with 2 scum who would be inclined to bus each other and just hide within the towns.

You apparently thought about what is useful and what is not, do you mind telling me why a votal analysis seemed useful to you at the time?

Well, it wasn't really a full vote analysis, was it?

As an observer, I see a wagon grow to that size that quickly, and I just don't see that consensus happening organically like that on Scum. I made no attempt to analyze any individual votes on that wagon. Didn't even care who was on it.

Just seeing that it existed at that high-water mark was enough.
