Also wouldn't a forgetfulness potion have permanent effects, permanently forgetting?

Question: Do we know if Lupin showed the Boggart to younger students (1-2 years) or only the third years?

Wasn't it said somewhere that the curriculum for Third Years includes Dark Creatures and that's why he focused on them? Also I doubt that he'd show 1st or even Second years their worst fears.

Is it possible that Sixteen Years by Council is nowhere to be found in the Library? I feel like the odds of noone ever mentioning a fic with a 1000 follows on this site are pretty low and it's a definate guilty pleasure kinda fic. Anyways, it updated after 2.5 years so I wanted to bump the thread and review the new chapter. I'll just leave this here instead.

Post it with a review in the Almost Reccomnded if you dont think it's library worthy but still worthwhile for some people :)

As for the Boggart, we don't get to know any other student's worst fear except Harry's class, so my guess is no.

Enchanting. In the Harry Potter universe: how big is enchanting? Could enchanting be used as a substitute for recreating things like a wand?

Are staffs an actual thing in the wizarding world, or is it fanon and only because of Moody wielding one in the movies? (Battle in the Department of Mysteries) Can any type of weapon be used as a focus for magic, or is it strictly wands and magical items?

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned before, but how big does Alchemy effect the wizarding world? The Philosopher's Stone... is it something that Nickolas Flamel discovered, or did he make the Stone himself?

Staffs are never seen, but pottermore made windless Magic a big thing so we could assume almost anything could be turned into a focus.

Self spelling wands are said to be impossible in the HP universe. You can enchant something to have a property but that property can't be transferred to something else.

Nic made the stone apparently. We know very little of alchemy. Not even sure Dumbledores uses of Dragons blood is alchemy or potions.

I think I may be getting my wires crossed between canon and fanon, but how large of a threat is Voldemort? Does he threaten all of Europe, or is it strictly in the UK? And the forces he commands: how large are they? A small army, or large enough for to be a considerable threat where other countries would get involved at some point? For the life of me, I can't remember if he had other forces in places such as... Russia, or France for example.

Are the Deathly Hallows strong objects made by Death or three powerful wizards?

The Chamber of Secrets. How big is it actually? I think I was reading somewhere that it was some sort of personal chamber for Slytherin itself and he had stuff hidden inside of it. If I recall correctly; I think Slytherin's statue its self was largely hidden from flooding or something like that and it was quite large, so could Slytherin have hidden something inside of it, or is that idle speculation?

And I suppose I can add if the other founders of Hogwarts had such chambers like Slytherin, or is that all fanon as well?

No mention of secret rooms created by any founder in particular other than Slytherin.

Slytherin's statue hidden by flooding is fanon. It was large enough however to apparently house the basilisk.

No final word on the creator/s of the Hallows. According to Beedle the Bard it was Death; Harry seemed to believe the fable.

No solid word on Riddle's forces or power in other countries. Given that the only resistance he seemed to face came from UK citizens, I would say not. However, he did stroll into Nuremgard to kill Grindelwald.

Voldermort does have at least a minor amount of influence outside of the UK, though it's pretty much impossible to say how much. He has/had at least one foreign death eater in Karkaroff. He was able to send messengers to the giants and have them received. And he killed at least three times outside of the UK while searching for the elder wand, the unnamed german family, Gregorovitch and Griendelwald.

Isn't one of the uses oven cleaner or something like that? I think Slughorn said something like that when Dumbledore and Harry visited him to convince him to take the job in HBP.

Doesn't the stone grant the user instant knowledge of potions and alchemy after it was consumed, or is that fanon again?

Fanon again, and I'm not even sure where you would have read that.

In Tales of Beedle the Bard, Dumbledore expresses the opinion that they were made by the Peverell brothers.

Do we know, or have any indications as to, what Voldemort thought about Dumbledore's shriveled hand in HBP?

Clearly, he didn't make the leap to the curse placed on the horcrux or it being terminal, but I wonder what other conclusions he could have drawn and how that might have influenced his behaviour.

Voldemort never interacted with Dumbledore in HBP that we read about. So he wouldn't have known at all about his dying hand.

I feel like someone would have mentioned it, either Snape or the child of any Death Eater who gives reports back to their parents.

It's not like Dumbledore was roaming the halls all day. In fact he was gone most of the time. So unless you where paying close attention at the feast or went to meet him in his office I don't see it happening.

It was also implied I thought. That Draco wasn't there to spy just to fix the "Cabinet" also I thought it was implied that most of Slytherin was just trying to get through school like everyone else.

“The very best of evenings to you!” he said, smiling broadly, his arms opened wide as though to embrace the whole room.

“What happened to his hand?” gasped Hermione.

She was not the only one who had noticed. Dumbledore’s right hand was as blackened and dead-looking as it had been on the night he had come to fetch Harry from the Dursleys. Whispers filled the room; Dumbledore, interpreting them correctly, merely smiled and shook his purple and gold sleeve over his injury.

Apparently you just need to have eyes in your head.

If Riddle had made the connection between the shriveled hand and the curse he placed on the ring, Snape's killing of Albus wouldn't have confirmed his trust in the man so much.
