    I know what it means.

I was asking whom I'd be throwing the game to. You think miner is just gonna skip to endgame without a care in the world if he doesn't die toDay?

tom: miner is newb. Rob is not, and should know better.

    Off to work. Good luck.

I get that. But rob should also know how to claim in a townie way if he is scum.
Like, using it on newcomb is townie. But even I know he's getting angeled tonight. Like, that thought process could just be "well I'm on the chopping block. Better use it up."

But miner's claim was just so "i'm getting lynched because I'm a filthy witch"
It just wasn't a natural time to do that without feeling like you deserve the votes.

I only read you being a crybaby.

I think I asked 2 times over the span of the day for people to talk about possible nursing.
1 poerson came forward and talked to me about it.
THat person also softed nurse so them using their actions didn't make that much of a difference because scum might already know it (unlikely athat anyone but would pick up on it etc)

People beikng whiny after the fact is their own fault.
I think if Newcomb is town then this game is close to being done.

I have been thinking about Newcombs claim and the likelyhood of him being town for most of the day.
What have you done in the meantime?
Being somewhere in a corner not doing anything useful?

All praise to von - master of snakes and sleeping.

I would vote for Miner, but I am unsure about the status of the votes etc.
Should be back before dayend if needed.

    skimmed votes.

should be more than enough space.

    Vote Miner

tom, put yourself in a nurse's shoes. What's worse:

    1. Dying without using your nurse ability
    2. Dying after using your nurse ability on a witch.

Again, its the explanation and the timing of the action that makes no sense. He even explicitly said that he wanted to do it early enough to let people take it into account for their lynch decisions. But he wasn't willing to let people discuss whether he should do it first? He wasn't willing to wait till the next day. He's not even betting everything on Newcomb being town, he just wants to look better, even though at the time I had just as many votes on me, and miner had 1 more.

The only reason he'd be worried about "being on the chopping block" is if he had knowledge that his wagon was pure and good and the other wagons were corrupted. Because outside of having that knowledge, it looks at lot like me or miner is going get lynched instead of him, especially after he adds his own vote to the pile. Because then miner would be at 4, or there'd be two wagons higher than his. Yet, he wasn't willing to make that vote move at the point that he used his nurse. He needed to wait and see what people's reaction was first.

    Well ok then.

    Koalas vote either wagon.

    I already said I didn't like it.
It's just more likely to come from town than miner's claim.

People avoiding talking about a subject that they should avoid talking about is good. I personally didn't want to ban discussion on the subject until later because I didn't want it to be obvious that /I/ wasn't the nurse.

I guess hoping people could figure out mechanical valuation on their own, or at least ask the thread about it explicitly before doing something that can't be undone is a little too much. See our Loose Cannon, Inquisitor, and Nurse this game.

To be explicit, further mechanical discussion and claims are banned for the rest of the day. If you have a one use ability that can benefit town, please allow town to direct you, or at least offer their input first. And if you don't know if you should claim, default to not claiming. If you're within lynch threshold and don't know if you should claim, ask at that point, and not earlier.

Do you really think so? Because this is mostly what I'm struggling with atm.

---------- Post automerged at 06:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:17 PM ----------

Its like miner's was pointless and after being explicitly told not to. Slip's was pointless toDay and he even said he felt like he'd regret it by Day's end.

I do. Miner's claim was exactly what thug is saying about slippery. He knew he was getting lynched because townies wanted to lynch him. I can't read that post without thinking miner knows he deserves to die.

Slippery could be that. It could also be not wanting to be an EoD distraction. Or just using his role because it (incorrectly) seemed like the right time to him.
It wasn't a good use of his role, but it wasn't an inherently scummy use either. Like thug said, if he was worried about getting lynched he could have just jumped on miner/thug and he probably wouldn't have been.

Kk. Mal is town mal. Tom is town. Snow is someone I feel better about having reread a bit in class today and especially over the last day or so - the fluff never pinged me in a way that screamed this is town!Von fluff, but the whole package makes him town I think. These people comprise my town circle.

He didn't though.. it was like the most pre emptive of pre emptive bs. And I'd argue Nursing his most probable partner in a scum world 8 hours before EoD IS an EoD distraction but.. frig. I need to think on miner.

I'm here until dinner. And then I'll be back after dinner.

The interview went well. I drove my dad to the car fixing place so he could pick up his car. I don't have the job yet, but the guy hiring me talks like I already have the job. So cross your fingers, hopefully this next meeting seals the deal for me getting a job.

    Slippery was hinting nurse.

Owner's response: *whoosh, that totally went over my head*

---------- Post automerged at 05:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:40 PM ----------

Just out of curiosity, if I've been most likely to be scum from your perspective why haven't you voted for me at all today?

*looks around for a lost buddy* Who's my buddy? I didn't lose Jan; he's right across the ocean from me.

I haven't voted you because people I trust keep telling me you're town.

And miner is a perfectly good lynch.

    ---------- Post automerged at 14:48 ---------- Previous post was at 14:45 ----------

I'm also in a pretty weird position.
Keeping in mind that this is my first time being town in a no flip game...

I don't really care what miner is.
If he's scum, either owner or slippery is bussing. Why wouldn't you after the newcomb reveal.
If he's town, either or both of owner and slippery are scum on his wagon every time.

Like, even in scumnewcomb worlds (which to be fair I haven't thought about a lot) that probably holds true.

    I thank those people.

This is my first witchhunt game. I've played no flip games obviously on DailyMafia, but this might be the first or second time doing a no flip game in a forum setting.

I didn't get as far in Mimefia as I would have liked. Maybe I'll annotate it some in my notes in the night, though that assumes a last minute cfd doesn't happen on me. I would read it now if it wasn't verging on end of day.

I made myself the object of conversation by using my Role according to some too early or I should have had a group meeting beforehand which means outing my Role. I thought I was doing a good thing here by making sure we got more information where the angels can save someone else but it's become a huge controversy instead.

I could have waited but I wanted to help us today. Whats worse a nurse who can reduce the number of targets for the witches to have or one who is too scared to do anything all because its not mechanically the best play ?

Yeah, as scum you doing have as many things to figure out, I think I find being scum a bit boring. But maybe that's just a mentality that I'm stuck in, that maybe over time I could develop a stronger persona.
