I get that .. and you are the person i am the least annoyed about for being afk at EoD because i know about your situation.

It is just .. it looks bad. and the fact that no one cared too much about pushing the wagons one way or another makes them lively v/v and not a single person seems to care so far.

Will think about mals possible fake play in a minute.

I just found the play and it is nasty. :(

Hmm, I'm not actually sure whether I'd go for the illusion kill play here as scum or not. Talking through it isn't completely pointless, but I'll tell you right now it's not going to be useful either.

Jan, you're right, I should have tried to convince you more about switching.

Your exercise doesn't seem useful to me though, it brings us back to the exact same suspect pool we already had.

    ---------- Post automerged at 13:15 ---------- Previous post was at 13:13 ----------

And Jan, it doesn't feel like the wagons were v/v. It feels like they were v/w and the scum teamed hard avoided the witch. If they were v/v, I think they would have ended up closer.

    ---------- Post automerged at 13:17 ---------- Previous post was at 13:15 ----------

Do you have anything beyond the stupid soft that you think makes Slip town?

Because you need to find not 1 but 2 people scummier than him if you want him to live to toMorrow.

    Theory 1:
    9 people alive today.

Misslynch + 2 scumkills (hunter + nightkill) brings us down to 6 people.

Which could mean a scum victory

In that world both Newcomb and Mal are scum.

    Theory 2 :
Mal used Illusionkill on himself to proc hunter in case the priest claims today.
As long as the priest does not have a redcheck on mal, mal could just shoot the priest tonight through any angel protection and use his other shot to fake his huntershot.

That is fairly elaborate and only works if mal can be sure to not be redchecked.
Unlikely that vira as possible demon got any coaching because mal subbed in after d1 ended. and it ended ahead of schedule, which means less time for possible witches to talk things through.

So yeah .. there are plays to make with this. Is it likely?

The 2nd theory falls because there was most likely no communication between mal and vira.
The only way that world works out is if scum are very very sure that waco was the priest in which case they used the illusionkill to clear mal.

The 1st theory is possible. Elaborate and therefor not that likely, but possible.
The question is why would the angels save mal?
They know who the priest is, if the priest is still alive.
Why would the angels have saved Mal if they could have saved the priest instead?

The obvious answer is that scum don't know who the priest is and the angels believed mal to a likely target. Which means mal got something right.

It means currently I read him as town. If cop check came out and he was a witch, I'd reassess. I'm trying to convince him of my alignment, but I don't know if I'm making much progress with that.

I wholeheartedly read you as town and trust your claims. But also like Tom, if you investigated as a witch, I'd reconsider my read on you. And then I'd also be paranoid that a demon messed with the check on you.

Since I already feel like you are both town, I guess I don't feel the need to figure you guys out more. But I can see how that would look to you seeing as this is like our first game together.

I get all that .. I personally have to believe he made his play to pocket me, which just feels stupid and unlikely.

How do you think the wagons would have been closer as v/v?
we got a softlynch by exactly 1 vote.
it was 6-4. It does not get closer than that without being a no lynch.

I am really unsure on what to think at the moment. I will try to reread most of the thread over the weekend.
The facts we have right now are :
Miner was town regardless of Newcombs alignment.
    So was TDS. I think.

We know there is always at least one between Vira and Newcomb.

I think that are all the facts we have.

Everything else will go in the trashcan and reread later.

I'm rereading owner right now, but I just came to this post.

Vira agrees with koalas that slippery's post was "terrible" and questions his thought about miner making a shitty angel.

Now wifom and bussing and everything, but I just can't see the team as exactly vira/koalas/slippery.

So owner comes into the thread self-narrating. The picture she paints is one of a little lost sheep.
We of course think not much of it. New to the site, new to witchhunt. Who wouldn't feel lost? There's harry potter erotica on here somewhere, and that's disconcerting.
Vaimes decides to townread her for it, but he's vaimes and really he just wants to be entertained. I didn't notice this until now, but she is just a little extra... ownery... when talking to him.
These are the little things you notice when you're in a tunnel. Like, when things work, go hard. I respect that, owner.

Quick aside as I skim by fonti's burst of activity:
It's not enough. I know I thought fonti was town but she didn't stick around to keep [doing the thing that I'm saving for another game I guess].
So I've just been clearing the slot in my head without having much memory of typh.

Most of day 1 is super fluffy for owner.
Not that you don't already know that.
    But there's some stuff:
Weird little interaction with vira. I had already jumped on vira (and miner. oh well) for this and here comes owner to coax opinions out of her.

Yeah ok, that's a little thin.

Another interaction with vira. I've almost always been wrong when I think something is coaching, but man does this look like it could be coaching.

    LOL

Man do I hate the push on TDS. That dude was so obvtown and owner is voting him for being self aware.

This little argument with slippery and subsequent jump to vira has got me a little twisted. Make no mistake, if owner is scum she bussed vira pretty hard, albeit only after me/newcomb/jan were already there.
IDK though, that's a lot of charisma behind a vira lynch. I'm so forceful and newcomb is so reasonable and jan is so, well, jan shouts really loud. So maybe that was the three townies that spelled doom for vira and owner recognized that.

There's some other stuff towards the end of the day, but I just don't think it's that important.

    Day 2 coming... eventually

I agree with Jan; I don't see scum motivations for Slippery giving Newcomb life unless the world is just Vira/Newcomb/Slippery.

To clarify, if TDS hadn't leeroyed, I think it likely we would have lynched vira.
And owner jumped on the wagon before there were very many votes there, but if she was paying attention to thread flow it was already headed that way IMO.

    ---------- Post automerged at 11:40 ---------- Previous post was at 11:39 ----------

But tom, maybe you and newcomb just convinced her vira was scum.

Yeah, other tom. That's a possibility.

I think I almost voted for Vira when I made that post. I think I was surprised by how early we caught someone. I don't know maybe I was hoping she'd fight back.

Owner starts day 2 wistful about the early end of day and throwing a little shade at von by asking if he townsides as a witch.
She doesn't really follow up on this.

I already mentioned this, but why does owner need to reread? And why does she need to tell us that she needs to reread?

And here we get to the section that made me suspect owner originally.
We shouldn't slack off. Trying to be a top poster. Our work is never done.
So many outwardly townie things that it's just not unintentional.

Also of note that she never really comments on either of the big important newcomb posts (those being the claim and the vira spew analysis)

This is the response I got when I questioned her need to reread and asked what she got out of it.
Strong chance this answer is actually "I did not reread"

And the next time she pokes at one of us to figure out our alignment is...

[owner votes and talks about miner. questions thug. questions jan some more. questions typh.
finally questions me but only about her association with vira]
Yeah. Says two people might be witches and then never tries to figure it out.

Does some EOD defending of slippery when wagons are at 5-4.

IDK what to do guys, I don't have all the answers.

Today has been a continuance of the insistence she isn't connected to vira. Like she doesn't want that hard bus to be in vain.
And then we get to the bizzare read of me that I've already talked about.

So if I chug some medicine tonight after I get out of class and come to the thread to talk about tom with mal until one of us (mal) sees the light and then the three of us plus snow roast towncircle marshmellows around owner's pyre is that like a thing that can happen? That's a thing I want to happen.

So there's no slam dunk here.
    But owner is scum.

Her whole spiel is more and more crafted to get us to townread her. It's well done. Subtle.
But the fact she's doing it at all is just not townie.
You see, townies don't have to actively be townie. They just have to put their processes out there and trust it will shine through.

Her reads aren't real, she doesn't really care how people are acting just how they are perceived. She has not once been the first one to an insightful thought, and I don't see her as the type to just let others dictate how she feels.

I am here for a little while and reading the thread as I catch up. I am waiting to see what happens with the weather which worries me more than the game at this point. I dislike waiting.

I think Rob could be a Witch for the following reasons:

    1. His wagon looks super towny. This looks bad for him when his counterwagon flipped town.

    2. He's doing a lot of hemming and hawing. Seems a lot more keen to dance around things than hunt scum.

    3. The way he used his role. He gave Newcomb an extra life, making it harder to win if he's scum and Newcomb is town. So what? Since when do scum on this site not go the extra mile to win? Scum with roles like that have to use them in what they believe are towny ways to stay alive. +life the town Gravedigger, receive towncred, use it to win. It's not a slam-dunk case, just a possibility.

That's without rereading to see if he makes sense with Vira. Maybe Newcomb went over this already and I just forgot. Work to do for later.

When you say phase, do you just mean today? Or do you mean you won't be back until the night phase?
