... Well shit who would have thought that would be good. While I was never obsessed with Power Rangers, I still watched it, and this looks like their taking the themes of what was a fairly goofy show and running with them. It looks darker and grittier, but done right. Hope it lives up to the trailer.

    John Wick: Chapter 2 trailer.

The first one is definitely one of my favourite action films, but I'm unsure about the second one. I like that they decided to shake things up and expand the world, but there is a change in overall tone and style that may or may not work.

Is it me or does it look as if they want to insert more talking and comedy into this one?

I liked the last one because it never tried to be something it wasn't. It was a 'bad ass' hunting down the guy that stole his car and killed his dog. Simple. The comedy was subtle.

I hope the writer isn't responding to all the, "I loved that line. It was funny. Do a lot more of those."

Still, I look forward to seeing it.

Oh, Morpheus is in it; is Trinity?

The best part of the first movie for me was the hinted at mythology.

The action was super stylish and the visuals were striking, but it's the mythology that really got me wanting a sequel. I hope it delivers.

The one thing that stops it being one of my all time favs are the times where they had Wick at their complete Mercy and didn't kill him.

That still winds me up. Shouldn't have done that.

Am I the only one who thought the movie was kinda stupid? Cool action, sure, but the plot was rather meh.

I thought that the first time I watched it, but then I watched it again and appreciated it for its' stripped-down plot. It's almost like an incredibly violent art house film. The only thing is , is that half the reason it works was the simplicity of the plot. If the sequel has a more complicated story, and most tend to, it might loose that element that made it work so well.

I liked the first movie, but it really doesn't need any sequels.

Power Rangers, well, it kinds of looks like how I expected more or less. I forgot they made Billy black though. And did they ever have powers outside of being morphed in the show? I thought that wasn't the case.

The producers correctly surmised that this made zero sense, hence they changed it.

They could still kick ass to a point. A regular theme was escalation of the fights: Rangers fight mooks, mooks are too numerous, Rangers morph, stomp the mooks, monster shows up, Rangers fight it, monster is biggified, Rangers summon zords.

The Power Rangers trailer seems alright, but god damn who doesn't want a full movie in the style of the Power Rangers bootleg from 2 years ago?

From what I've heard, they plan to turn Power Rangers into a full cinematic universe if it does well.

I for one cannot wait. Rangerkino is coming.

EDIT: Also, here are some images of the Zords.

Those zord pics are terrible. Here I was hoping for some practical effects.

My thoughts on the trailer are summed up rather nicely by AngryJoe's reaction video. I fear it'll be mostly teenage drama origin story and not a lot of Power Rangin'. Also, I was hoping for Green or White Ranger (I'm partial to the White Ranger), but if it's an origin story and they want to make this a franchise, then it's a good bet they'll want to save Green/White Ranger for sequels.

I didn't really like the trailer. Looks like they couldn't decide between going full TV show camp and your typical gritty reboot and ended up somewhere in between that'll be average in both aspects. Just once I'd like to see a studio say " You know what, X Property is camp and triple cheese, let's fucking do this, let's give the people the fun stuff."

Chris Nolan, I love you, but I don't love what your Batman did to reboots and adaptations. Marvel continues to be the beacon of hope. GOTG 2 comes out next year.

There is a theory based on her costume that Rita is ex-Green Ranger who betrayed her team and Zordon could be ex-White Ranger.

If it's true then I would like them to have an action packed opening of the film with a scene of that happening that includes an epic battle between these two Rangers though without using Zords so they have more impact in the finale.

Technically not set for 2017, but the news bears mentioning.

Guy Ritchie set to direct live-action Aladdin

    Plus:
I honestly only look forward to The Lion King and Jon Favreau.

The revamped plot of the live action Mulan sounds pretty damn god awful.
