Two days since my last post.

I'll be able to play again tonight.

BTW fenraelis, sorry about suddenly leaving, the thunderstorm cut electricity aND while I play on a laptop, the Internet doesn't have batteries. ;P

Hehe. It was fun while it lasted.

Let's do a new one soon.

so its been about two months since Stellaris released and I've got to admit that I've barely played it because it feels so barebones compared to say Sword of the Stars or Endless space. Are there any mods i should know about that improve the depth of the game mechanics?

Well, for the luls I like to Roleplay as 40k Empire of man.
Spiritualist, Militaristic, Xenophobe. With Decadent, smart leaders, born engineers. And a Divine mandate Gouvernement. I purge every alien I conquer. No alliance. Its fun..

I should play that tonight with fenraelis and t-boss

I find it a lot of fun roleplaying as different space empires from series.

Zeon is especially fun, though it's kinda sad that the base game can't let you properly roleplay them, since that'd make the race overpowered, and also impossible by game mechanics.

Pretty sure they're kind of materalist, but also spiritualist, and then they're xenophobes and also Militaristic.

The Zeon mod is pretty fun, though can make your armies very overpowered.

The Zeon mod is excellent, yah, though a tad overpowered. I like playing as the Galactic Empire, myself.

So the new patch is out and the first storyline DLC is too. Anyone fancy checking them out this Saturday? From what I've been reading combat seems to be a lot more balanced now and the mid-game more stuff going on.

The patch and dlc are frankly amazing, and there's actual benefits to running Xenophobe ethic now. (Planet borders are expanded as a Xenophobe)

Also, the automated exploration tech means Warp drive and Hyperlanes have advantages over Wormhole tech in mid-late game exploration. (Since Wormholes can only auto-explore within wormhole range.)

Stellaris is in the same vein as other Paradox games in that you only need the host of a multiplayer game to have DLC for everyone to play it

This is what Palindrome normally sends to everyone who may be interested. Unfortunately, I don't have permissions to PM more than 10 people, so I'm just going to put it here. Someone else can PM it if necessary.

If we can't get Drome to send the message, I'm in favour of just seeing who turns up at 5pm GMT (Britain is currently in GMT+1).

If someone wants to set one up now that'd be great, otherwise I'll set up a new one when I get back from dog walking.
