Yeah, that's the one although I don't particularly remember any ninja like behavior from Roose.

No, wait, my bad, that was another fic from FFN, not AO3.

I just horribly mixed up those two in my head.

That would be The Luck of Fools, where Roose Bolton decides to chance it after a failed attempt at killing Robb and yet escaping the second time by being Batman.

Nah, it ain't that piece of shit of a fic. This one is pretty well written, even if it goes for a big fix it vibe, if more subdued and believable than most.

I would rate it a 3.5, nothing special and the author doesn't have the ability to pull off multiple PoVs, something that fanfic writers should realise more. The Amerei plot was retarded and unnecessary though, but not as unnecessary as the sex scene.

Yes this is that fic. All I had to do was skim until I found the first "eurghhhhhhhhhhhh." Who doesn't like onomatopoeia?

Holy titty Christ so it seems it is, I confused it with the other retarded fic where Amerei ass is the MC and is described as Meaty 2123 times.

There are times I seriously question my reading habits.

Ties of Blood and Fire updated after a long hiatus. Interesting stuff. Sansa is growing a bit too super powered for my tastes, however.

I'm on the same page with you there, I kind of like reading her justifications for her increasingly unhinged actions, but psychic dragon powers seem a bit out there considering I don't remember them being set up at all.

Of course, I've been anti-Sansa since approximately chapter 1. All of the problems she's facing are of her own making and if she'd just stayed in the North without trying to take over Westeros things would have gone far better, instead of setting up for the Dance of Dragons round 2.

Oh, my goodness. Finally someone who feels the same way. I am not without sympathy for Sansa in this story, but reading the comments for the fic on AO3 I thought I was losing my mind. Lots of fans are blaming Jon for Aegon’s actions, which boggles my mind.

I think the author spent some time showing Sansa practicing warging with birds, so there’s that, but I missed the chapter where apparently Super Warg Sansa can
control people now. Also, while the author is fond of Sansa’s super special time traveling magic twins, that’s just a bit too much for me. Really?

I tried to fight it, but many of the chapters had me feeling anti -Sansa too. I never cared much for Jon Snow, but I was cheering him on when he took Sansa and Catelyn to task for their past treatment of him.

I don’t appreciate the author’s double standards. Jon needs to get over his trauma and PTSD because he’s being selfish and neglectful, but Sansa’s past trauma means she can kill/screw over however many people because she’s
    protecting
    her unborn children?
Also, we’re supposed to think Arya is being immature and selfish for refusing to let Sansa marry her off to strengthen the Starks’ position, but it’s okay for poor *traumatized* Sansa to refuse to annul her unconsummated marriage of convenience to Tyrion because Sansa’s had enough of being a pawn! Ugh.

I followed the drama with the story after the latest chapter. Some readers expressed anger and disgust at Sansa for her actions and the author kind of freaked and shut down anonymous comments and released an author’s note.

Ok so this is a bit of necromancy on my part, but I honestly hope that bumping this thread will make people start posting interesting fics again.

    As an offering:

Hash has "finished" his SI story Leech Lord. Although I guess there will either be an epilogue, or a fallow up story.

And Snowfall has updated after god knows how long. Not sure If I like this chapter and the direction the story is headed in. It seems that the author ran into some sort of a writing block and decided to resolve it by plowing straight forward in the direction he intended to take the story without bothering to take care that the character motivations make any damn sense.

KGB thank you for the recommendation of Leech Lord.
I just read it in one go.
Bloody good story, it ended in Asoiaf manner.

For those that don't mind Jon, Dragons of Ice and Fire by serpentguy is decent.

Searching for a fic, following Bran (Stark), focusing on him raising as King of the North.

Man Droman is so solid, I love his Asoiaf stuff. It has a tone that's enjoyable. The Leech Lord failing to make his plan work because of Varys and general stupidity of the people in the book. His end rant felt perfect. Quite an enjoyable read.

I thought that the ending of the Leech Lord was kind of shit. Even when ASoIaF has a bad end there's real build up to it. It's explored and worked on such that it hardly ever feels out of nowhere. I'm totally okay with this being a bad end, but it needed to be maybe 3 times as long to be a satisfying ending; have there be real conflict as opposed to "everything went wrong off screen, you get one rant and off with your head."

I don't know, sometimes I feel like Droman gets tired of the reaction to his writing and for something he did on a whim, just getting an ending that is in line with how he normally deals with stuff is perfect to me. It felt like he was running out of steam in character and the unraveling of his plans and general annoyance of some of the stupid character decisions in book led to a rant. He says he will be fleshing out more of the story from another PoV so this feels like an appropriate end for Droose. I can see why it might frustrate some people.

Also the Dragons of Ice and Fire is ok, decent time waster with at least a semi interesting take on a Jon Sue.

The premise is that Mance wastes too much time searching for the Horn of Winter, Jon Snow ends up meeting Coldhands, and being led to the Bloodraven. There is a little bit exploring warging powers with Bran as well that seems different. Worth a read if your bored and enjoy Asoiaf.

Any recommendation for Eddard fics? where he act more as Northern rather Vale/Tully Stark ?
Or AU of Eddard leading the North differently

Yeah, it could have been done a lot better. I think Droman basically just was writing out the ending for the sake of writing and really didn't have it peer-reviewed or beta'd so for something he was just writing as an exercise it seemed fine. The themes were obviously fine, but the structuring and pacing clearly needed work.
