Koalas miner11121 Unless a new challenger emerges, lump is probably going to one of you. I don't think it's at all decided which yet. If you would like to try and claim lump for yourself, put together a case talking about why. If nothing else, I promise that I will read it and pester the others to swap if you convince me.

Heh. Well, now that's been said.

I've actually been watching to see how badly he wanted it, despite saying it a 1000 times. I'm not sure that I agree with your assessment, though - I (obviously) was leaning towards him actually wanting it instead of trying to back off, although there's obviously 20 hours left. I did kinda quit paying attention to that a day ago, though.

Can you cite some posts showing your work?

Hey everyone, first game at this site but for those that don't know me I've played forum mafia at various sites for ~7 years. I've actually been following very closely along with this thread so it shouldn't take me too long to fully finish catching up; when I do I'll post my current reads/thoughts.

Do want to mention that I don't agree with the concept of Lumping a scum read, I think it's significantly better to be used on a null read / a complete question mark. Having it used on a scum read means if correct you're a) Removing power from the town and b) Trading the priest/a townie for a scum player you had already identified which is never a good move.

I'll touch on this more when I get my big reads post down (I'm imagining it'll take 1-2 hours in total) but absolutely not Miner, Miner should be the lynch, fairly confident he's scum here. Koalas isn't a terrible target but I've for others I like slightly more, again will get to this soon. If there's anything else in particular you want me to focus more on when combing over the thread let me know now.

    So back to Lumping Kai?

Also, this is what scum replacing in would say if we were about to find scum by way of Lump.

Nah, I'll sit back and wait for your bug post.

This is taking longer than anticipated, I'll get my town reads down now and put the rest down in the next hour.

TOWN (S->W) Typhon, Q, Jazi, (Gap), Von, (Gap), Fonti:

My town reads on the pool (Typhon/Q/Jazi/Von) are strong enough that I'd bet the entire game on all four of them being town at this point. Don't particularly think its' worthwhile to make a big wall on the four of them at the moment as I'd rather spend some time looking into players I think can potentially be scum but will give a small summary on the four of them. If anyone want me elaborate on one of these reads in more detail just ask.

Typhons scum read on Miner and his interaction with Miner comes across as him genuinely believing in the read. There's a very noticeable attempt from him in game solving and the progressions behind his reads run very smoothly, his interactions with Von in several instances look like him trying to bounce reads/thoughts/generate content in the game rather than push any sort of scum agenda. One thing I will mention before I forget is that while I agree with the majority of his scum case on Miner I think the case could have been handled better, had some notes on that so remind me to go into this post-game Typhon.

Q' scum read and early case on Miner comes across as super town, his reasoning behind it is very much spot on and logical and the way he's gone about handling this read makes a lot of sense as town. He's made a noticeable effort to attempt to converse with and get answers from other players in the thread in the manner where it's clear he's trying to read them. When following the thread I'd constantly find myself agreeing with almost all of his thoughts.

Initially disliked Jazi's content/contributions and had him piled as probable scum with Miner in the first few pages of the thread but the fact that he was prepping for an international move nullified most of my concerns with him there. I liked his reads/content/thoughts he had during his actual move, his attempt at solving and guessing the exact scum team came across as very genuine. His comments about "Can I try to soup as town in my QT" is something I very much struggle seeing him fabricate as scum unless he was coached and the exact manner that it was done didn't read like it was at all.

Vons probably a slightly weaker town read than the other three but still can't ever see him as scum here, his interactions with Typhon and reads throughout the game have had a lot of town motivation behind them. I liked his early prodding on Jan and his interaction on his end with Miner. While I disagreed with his early scum read on Math I could follow his reasoning behind it and understand where he's coming from and this read strengthens based on his more recent case on Math especially with the "Scum focus on the activity part and ignore the rest" element to it.

I've had a town read on Fonti while reading through the entire game, her reads and reasoning for most players mirrored mine. I was at a very similar place before she made #131 outside of her town read on Waco and Kai. Her scum read on Miner again came at a time when I had him as scum as well in #260 and liked her attempting to direct attention there in #269 as well as the multitude of timers she kept telling Von to reassess him. The reasoning behind having a lock town read on Jazi was the exact reason I solidified my town read on him in #295 and the reasoning elaborated on the rest of her town reads in #312 matched mine outside of Waco. I don't agree with the usage of the "Interesting" tell in this specific case but her suggestion that Koalas stating it in #316 is actually a thought process I see town come up with much more often; funnily enough I've been pushing that interesting is a scum-tell for a few years now (My read on Jean is my most recent usage of it). The only thing that's holding her back from being on the trio or Vons level is that I don't fully see where she's coming from with her Koalas scum reads strength.

KaiDASH, while you're around can you run me through your reasoning behind voting Q when you did please? Also why did you make a post stating you're happy to kill Waco while not transferring your vote to him? Would also love a quick reads list from you if that's not asking for too much which I fear it might be.

---------- Post automerged at 05:10 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:09 AM ----------

    Also in case Koalas pops in while I'm working on my next section;

Koalas, you've had several posts throughout the game stating that you think Fonti is scum/making questionable reads; outside of her scum read on you what do you make of the rest of her play/reads?

---------- Post automerged at 05:44 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:10 AM ----------

Going to short break to get myself a late dinner then I'll get back to this.

    NULL: Koalas, Kai, Jan

I disagree with Koalas initial reasoning behind Fonti being scummy for not self-lumping but don't think the line of thinking is a scum tell from him given how the last game played out. I liked his merged section of #184 particularly the phrasing of the Jan/Snow reads and the questioning on Snow about his Miner read. I dislike the constant "I'll get around to my scum reads later" attitude since he keeps postponing it and find that's something scum tend to do more. I liked his response to Miner about his Typhon case in #595. The eventual scum reads pool in #645 isn't all that impressive given the lynch targets are effectively the 3 lowest posters. So yeah, I'm still fairly null on him overall, not seeing peoples confidence with him being scum here.

Disliked Kai's suggestion that he should be lumped without self-lump-voting at the time in the early game but that was mostly resolved later on and am leaning towards this being more a playstyle thing rather than an alignment tell. Don't make much of anything else he's done and from the sounds of it a lack of content from him sadly isn't alignment indactive.

I didn't like Jans fluffy early game posts and his question directed to Fonti in #60 and the way it progress in his #68 and #76 are not in a productive manner at all with his answer of "It looks towny to do things like this right" being fairly unimpressive but I think all of this much just be a playstyle thing. Vons explanation of his meta in #515 matches what I'm thinking re; Jan being a difficult D1 read. I really liked his response to Jari and comment on Math in #833 but don't think that particular argument against them is the strongest indication that they're scum. The majority of his town reads in #836 match mine and really liked his post directed at Math in #840 but think him proceeding to voting Math in #849 and not doing much more in terms of sorting out his huge amount of question marks is very lazy. All up I'm not really sure what to make of him and think he's the best person to be lumped.

    Unlump,
    Lump: Jan

    A) I think lumping someone that's a question mark across the majority of the playerlist is a good idea, would mean we get a proper usage of the cop element of the role, B) I think Jan comes across as a fairly competent player so if he's town I don't think him having a double vote ability is a bad thing and C) I don't foresee myself being able to get a good read on him so this solves that.

---------- Post automerged at 05:47 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:44 AM ----------

Someone should really get in here an post, these continual merges are depressing and make me worried people will look at the one big singular post and think "Too long to actually read" which would be a really bad mistake to make.

Jan, what was the two reasons you wanted Typhon lumped for in #40. Also earlier you mentioned you were in the process of getting a read on Fonti, then listed her in your second tier of town reads; can you run me through what in particular you are town reading her for? Also an explanation behind the vote specifically being on Mathblade in comparison to someone like Waco/Miner/Koalas or even my slot would be appreciated.

Get outta my head, get into my car!

If you don't have a read on Jan (If you do sell me on it) you should join me on lumping him, solving the question marks is the key to winning this game. Also we're very probably lynching Miner so your lump vote is going to have to move anyway.
