    Oh holy shit.

I don't fucking want to know Math's alignment that much. We're going to lynch her, then we're lynch Kai. If the game doesn't end, it will mean that one of them was town. Then we'll look at you and fluff, and hopefully win off that.

Definitively learning Math's alignment is not worth potentially taking away mislynches. Would it be nice? Maybe. But Math being scum only clears Waco and you know how else we can handle that? BY LYNCHING WACO WITH THE EXTRA TIME WE'LL HAVE FROM NOT MAKING MATH CLAIM.

Oh, oh. And by the way. Having math fucking claim isn't the only way to do this. We can do the fucking oracle plan. We can do the gravedigger plan. We can do literally anything that doesn't let scum!math get away with outting a role and doesn't make town!math make the game easier to solve for scum.

    Stop. Pushing. This.

It's not "bad" play that I'm suggesting you doing; I think you distanced with Miner by having him as a scum read of yours when asked about him so that when a red priest result came out on him you'd look decent.

It's a terrible play, especially since by your "team" prediction, I did the same thing twice, essentially...

Maths alignment actually means a lot and it's not just in regards to Waco, you attempting to suggest that's the only information and linkage we get from it is very insincere. If Math is town that means the way the wagon transpired on her yesterday and again today is likely to consist of scum and that scum very likely pushed them at some point. If Math is scum we can rule out several players from being her partner and we'd be down to a 1 scum situation anyway which we should win. Math's alignment very much changes how you look at the game state.

If you step back and think about it for half a second with the knowledge that scum only have one soup remaining the whole "One claim will hurt us so much!" is a very silly angle to push.

The names of the people who aren't with math are Waco and maybe Jan. You would say that I look better but that I could totally bus here anyway. The same paranoia will later be used on Jan. This information is not useful.

If Math is scum I'd remove Waco, I'd very probably remove Jan and the more I think about it the more confident I am in removing you; I don't think a scum team involving the two of you play the day where you push for Miner!Lump and then flip your town read on Math to a scum read and accept their lynch, it'd be you knowingly playing to be the sole mafia remaining start of N2 by early D1. so if Math is scum I'd fairly confidently say it was one of Fluf/Kai and I've got a weak town read on Kai, so Math/Fluff would likely be the exact team. As I said Maths alignment helps a lot.

The later the game goes the more likely the scum team are to win via soup, this is just an undeniable fact.

We should be using the good position we're in right now to stretch our lead and make sure this never goes late. We're never going to get a position again where an un cc'ed claim is a clear without another role coming forth and vouching for them.

Math claiming today gives us that.

I hereby give you permission as the mod to try editing the post I'm quoting to say "Newcomb is the worst mafia player on the planet."

The game going on longer and mafia winning by soup is a case of correlation, not specifically causation. There are number of factors related to time like the likehood or individuals claiming or slipping that affect it. Getting claims for a small chance of reducing the game length is not worthwhile.

I disagree very strongly. I won't comment more on this until post game because I don't particularly want to aid scum in working out what's optimal or not.

This is where we disagree, I think a claim from Math means we can end this game by D4 - I think we can lynch both scum inside the next 3 lynches. Without that happening it brings up the "Do we play with the Math!Scum or Math!Town world" and at that point there'll start being a lot of paranoia come up in the game that could take this late.

Beep boop. Numbers crunched. Only way we're realistically losing this is to a supersoup. Ergo Math should not claim.

    Officially canon.

Okay so it's literally just the thread starter who can't edit posts in that thread?

    That seems... sub-optimal for mafia.

    brb yelling at Palindrome.

This is kinda where I am, irrespective of where the fonti/Reg conflict leads.

I'm still world building in my QT, I'll have something for you guys on Reg soonish (well, one day) - good or bad.

I think it might actually just be Kalas (or some subset of the forum). I decidedly cannot.

Possibility that it has to do with your online status? Kalas isn't hidden and we are.

That's hella fucking weird. I have to head out to rehearsal but I'll talk to someone on IRC tonight about it.

In the meantime with the exception of when I specifically say it's okay (like when we're trying to troubleshoot etc) even if you have the ability to edit your posts, it's against the rules.

Yeah, that makes sense. I see no other possibility (besides account age but that's doubtful).
