Talk to me about it. What changed?

Does "RL busy" not affect these reads?
I wouldn't lynch vaimes or cobalt today without something more compelling than that.

    Oh I guess that's a "no"

    Nope and not very. Shrug.

Nah, that's pretty much exactly what I said.

I don't believe you're scum, I believe you're scummy, and I'm not sure how much of it is up to playstyle differences. I'm also trying to take lessons from the last game in pursuing the obvious leads instead of just tunneling on a gut scumread. Hence, pushing Von and Cobalt.

Ok I've gotten to my third Quiddity vote and reread all my reasoning. Besides the Owner/Jan mindmeld thing being wrong all my points still apply. This means I'm still scumreading Quid, albeit not as strongly as yesterday without an obvious partner (sorry owner).

So if Rubicon proves himself to be useful town, are you saying you still would recommend lynching him eventually?

Why do you have no desire to lynch Waco? Why is he light green rather than null, and has he said anything new in his Rubicon push that gave you pause?

Does the fact that Cobalt asked for a replacement change your reads?

Why do you think a town fluff would be acting in an anti-town way (lurking, even though he knows people are expecting more), especially after last game?

And why doesn't Vaimes' IRL reasons have any effect on your read on his absence?

fyi, I think you're both towny with actually p similar vibes. :/

    1. No. If he lynches scum, he shouldn't be lynched. (See: Him voting Von)
    2. Mmm, I understand where his Rubicon push came from and he managed to put words to some of the thoughts going through my head in regards to Rubicon. This makes him slightly more likely to be town, imo.
    3. Not really, shrug. We'll see what his replacement does, but I still think the slot warrants pressure.
    4. Yes. It's how fluff acts.
    5. I've lived with Vaimes. I'm fully aware that he is genuinely really busy and under a lot of stress. But he uses mafia to avoid that stress, and has been active even in the middle of mid terms and finals before, unless mafia is stressing him out, in which case, he avoids it. The only reason I can see that this game would cause him stress is if he is scum. Add in that his reaction to me makes no sense except as a preemptive defensiveness when he's expecting me to scumread him, an expectation he would only have as scum. The miner post he quoted was /not/ towny and that actual game solving in the post/townreads made was nonexistant. Ergo, Von is mafia, let's kill him.

Maybe tomorrow when I (hopefully) re-read and whatnot.

---------- Post automerged at 01:42 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:34 AM ----------

    oops ninja'd

And I do think fontisian really believes that Vaimes is scum+it would be unnecessarily dangerous/suicidal for scum to pursue this method of mislynch (unless there is fonti meta I'm missing out on?), which makes her back to seeming towny to me.

I feel kinda unsafe about voting Vaimes purely on another user (possibly mafia, also possibly wrong)'s meta knowledge, so does anyone else agree with her Vaimes meta?

Lyric I'll post a rainbow wall and shit when I get through the reread. I've made it as far as my giant automerge from early thursday morning (496/498).

Probably another flurry in a couple hours so I can start automerging.

I found out last week that I skipped a book in the middle of a series (Iron Druid Chronicles) and so have been rereading the whole thing in order. Getting towards the end of the one I had missed now. Very exciting.

Reread Vaimes 85(?!) posts. I feel like his posts are missing the articulation on town reads. I was going to say he doesn't have enough for a PoE player, but then we get to his wall and he does have plenty. But whilst we've had drips and drabs coming through, I feel like Von is normally far more open, and there's more threads of confidence.

I get the lack of time feeding into it, but that doesn't feel like enough. This is 99% Day 1, and he was here and posting, if distracted, but his posts lack the engagement I normally feel.

He does have the normal fluff!Von on, but on a closer look there's less behind it than I'd be expecting.

Also, Vaimes I wrote an entire wall on how to read me, smh. Do I need to put that in my sig?

---------- Post automerged at 03:08 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:06 AM ----------

    Good, that's my perspective.

Also, should check, but wasn't Vaimes' Zenzao read derivative of Rubicon? If so, why is Zenzao higher in his wall?

Well I'm rereading everything. But my own posts are definitely my favorite.

    ---------- Post automerged at 02:57 ---------- Previous post was at 02:48 ----------

    Jan's reads.
This meta read on quid is certainly something to consider. Especially from a "why the fuck would he kill jan" angle. I've been scum in mountainous before, and the obvious kill strategy is "smart people that might lynch you and won't be lynched themselves"
Pretty basic stuff with no roles to worry about.
I think that list is Ruby/Zen/Cobalt/Waco. He didn't even mention Vaimes, but maybe.

    ---------- Post automerged at 03:03 ---------- Previous post was at 02:57 ----------

Waco's wall. It still feels pretty consensusy. Not a lot of depth. It's fine, but meh.

I will say almost never w/w with rubicon. If waco were to flip scum I'd probably look hard at fonti, but it's kind of weak.

    ---------- Post automerged at 03:07 ---------- Previous post was at 03:03 ----------

I just got to #512, and it does look a little like the bolded.

I still don't like Vaime's response to Rubicon's meta read on him though.

    1) I've used the tactic to catch scum on multiple occasions as town. 2) I wouldn't be surprised if I'd done something similar in that game. But there was a reason Jan points out I was a strong town read of his until I got stuck a work due to a blizazard and was out of the thread for 36 hrs.

The point wasn't that I was expecting every read of yours to be a hard read. The reason I asked about Vaimes was that most of your other reads that had shifted I could see from your posts as to why. With Vaimes it was unclear, hence why I asked.

Reads that change without reason make me wonder why

---------- Post automerged at 07:36 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:26 AM ----------

This coming 2.5 hours after I wrote a similar note in my QT about Von feeling off, is yet another another reason I'm reading Fontisian town

Hey Zenzao, you've kinda disappeared, what up with those new thoughts you mentioned

Do you have a game example you could link me? I'm having a hard time imagining a scenario where scum makes a reads list and only leaves out their partner/s, that's really conspicuous. Not that I think you're completely making up games or anything, that would be dumb, but more like, I want to see if the contexts are similar so I can try to understand where you are coming from. (In both games I only left out people who basically had no posts whatsoever)

Also I get that maybe that read wasn't well-explained, but then why your specific face-palmy response to my response? I feel like your response would have made more sense if you were actually trying to get insight because you believed in my reads/you were trying to bounce ideas off of me and was disappointed, but I didn't get that sense at all. Were you just asking, or were you trying to catch me out on something?

---------- Post automerged at 12:04 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:00 AM ----------

Like, what are you thinking/trying to do/etc as you're interacting with me? (I'm not asking rhetorically). Do you think I'm coming off scummy? Do you think I'm misguided? Are you trying to read me better?

This might be unfair as the only play I know from you is your (long ago) scumplay, but you're really giving me the same WH6 vibes. Granted, not everything you write gives me those vibes.

It's not the exact same thing but I caught scum!Luckylee and scum!partner Rubicon very early on in Endgames: Masquerade (here on DLP) with a similar concept.

Mostly frustration, especially because I was getting ready leave at that point. I ask the question looking for information, but I do look to see if there's anything off about the response.
