But if he is town then I have to hit a scum within 3 people.

66% chance to hit scum without reading anything.

If he is scum then the chance is still 33%, without reading.

And it is not like I am not trying to get more reads, it is just hard when getting people to post feels like pulling teeth.

    ---------- Post automerged at 13:03 ---------- Previous post was at 13:01 ----------

Because you made a point about refuting what I said, when I already said that it does not apply to a situation with a rock solid case, which is unlikely to happen if the pace of the game does not change.

We are basically screaming in circles at this point.

Today is the most important day of the game. If we get it right, then scum won't be able to buy tracker/JK which means one clear if not multiple. If we get it wrong, then there's a possibility that scum can outbid for dayvig and win the game instantly. Today is the day when we need to get our shit together; if Typhon is town, then I fully expect him to give his best guess. If you are town, I fully expect you to give your best guess. If Tammy is town, I fully expect her to give her best guess. I don't expect anyone to be fully confident because that's not how mafia works but there are 72 pages and a flipped scum and so there's no reason we can't make a scum die today.

My fear with your proposal is that it's a bandaid to a gigantic gaping wound; if we can't get our shit together today, that's horrible and I don't think the tradeoff of maybe being less likely to hit scum today (and I think avoiding a lynch for reasons that don't have anything to do with their alignment decreases chances of lynching scum) in order to being less likely to avoid instantly is worth it when our best chances (in my opinion) lie in lynching scum today.

I don't like Koalas's exchange with Jarizok here; he pops up in thread, talks about how fluffy's activity won't change if he gets elected Marketplace Owner, then... doesn't do anything else.

---------- Post automerged at 06:07 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:06 AM ----------

What reads do you want me to look over? Is your recent read on Vira the entirety of the Vira points that you care about?

---------- Post automerged at 06:16 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:07 AM ----------

This vote right here from Koalas makes Tom-Vira-Koalas significantly less likely unless Tom proposed that all three of them pushed for Typhon lynch early, which seems unlikely. I'm also noticing that Vira started pushing for Jarizok pretty soon after the initial Typhon push but didn't swap votes immediately after (and Tom's reinforcement of her came very very early).

---------- Post automerged at 06:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:16 AM ----------

    This is... odd.

Vira, what made you start scumreading Typhon if not for the neighborizer thing? If it's harder to lie in a QT than it is in a game thread, then why doesn't it make sense to neighborize hard to read players (especially if they are players who would have good reads if town)?

---------- Post automerged at 06:25 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:21 AM ----------

Why would Fonti mention stuff that she misunderstood/never happened as scum against a townie? My assumption is that she's a smart enough player not to do something like that intentionally, and she could fuck up a push on either a townie or scum, no?

---------- Post automerged at 06:31 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:25 AM ----------

    1) Why are you spending so much time talking neighbors with Typhon if that's not why you're scumreading him?
    2) I can't help but feel like you're being a bit intentionally obtuse here, in particular with how you're presenting Neighbors as useless if you can't read the other player 100% and how you're treating his talk of Neighbors as "pocketing" instantly - from what I can tell, his description of how neighbors are useful is exceptionally close to yours, and yet because he doesn't think he can read those players 100% he's pocketing and making a horrible move?

---------- Post automerged at 06:34 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:31 AM ----------

Koalas contributions so far have just been observations that he forgets soon after he makes and doesn't do anything with.

---------- Post automerged at 06:38 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:34 AM ----------

One of my concerns about Typhon maybe being scum was a memory of him focusing too much on Rubicon and not having genuine looking scumhunting elsewhere but I'm seeing his response to the push on him and I'm seeing him start to press Jarizok and that's not the case.

---------- Post automerged at 06:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:38 AM ----------

Ah, last observation on Koalas is unfair; he is pushing Typhon, after all.

---------- Post automerged at 06:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:40 AM ----------

And for the record, the "tone difference" of the first posts and the very last one is Koala's big argument about Typhon. The vibe change is going from "energized rapid posts" to "larger block paragraphs", but when Typhon pointed out that he was on his phone for early posts, he said that wouldn't affect the tone at all. It's an utterly garbage push.

Noting this post, going to do a bit of research on this.

---------- Post automerged at 07:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:58 AM ----------

This is the last game Koalas and Typhon played together. I don't see a significant difference in overexplain-yness here and the "your posts were just so much more accessible there!!" line of attack reeks unless Typhon completely changed his play up halfway through and I just don't have the patience to find it.

---------- Post automerged at 07:23 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:15 AM ----------

If Typhon was scum here I'd probably have to start stalking his games and having him mentor me; this seems extremely genuine to me.

---------- Post automerged at 07:23 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:23 AM ----------

And bonus points to Jan for being the first person to actually acknowledge it.

---------- Post automerged at 07:24 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:23 AM ----------

Also fresh thoughts Koalas, why did you think that Typhon's change in tone was indicative of his alignment?

---------- Post automerged at 08:22 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:24 AM ----------

    Vira's readslist is here.

Jan read makes sense, Jan was pretty much the only person doing any real solving in the early game.

Koalas read is Vira townreading him pretty much because he's also scumreading Typhon. I am weirded out by Vira saying the reason she was scumreading Typhon is because he was "overly wordy" because she initially started scumreading him for his first couple of posts which certainly weren't that.

The reasons she says why she has Tom as town later is because he didn't do anything that bothered her and because he supported her; the only place he supported her was voting Typhon immediately, he didn't say he was agreeing with her arguments and she hadn't voiced her arguments why Typhon was scum at that point (aside from neighborizer stuff, which, according to this post, wasn't her reason for scumreading him).

Miner is a townread because of gimmick, which is fairly lame.

Rubicon is OK; not sure why she townreads people for pushing Typhon but she doesn't townread Rubicon for being Typhon's #1 target.

She also attacks Typhon for "long posts that could have been condensed", which is something I really find difficult to believe coming from town, especially when she's played with Typhon before.

---------- Post automerged at 08:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:22 AM ----------

I think the play would be more indicative of alignment if he was the tiniest bit engaged. As it stands it looked like he popped in thread, looked for something to attack and attacked it which would mean he'd be unaware of what he was actually doing.

---------- Post automerged at 08:36 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:30 AM ----------

Vira was scumreading Typhon for most of the Day, barely talked about any of the reasons she was scumreading Typhon, then, when you popped in with a case she immediately adopted your reasons as her own.

I don't get how a difference of opinion in the proper use of neighborizer has anything to do with whether someone is electable or not.

---------- Post automerged at 08:43 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:36 AM ----------

Koalas continuing to see tone changes that aren't happening at all means that he's either insane or faking a read.

---------- Post automerged at 08:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:43 AM ----------

    Except... Fluff and Waco hadn't...?
If you were townreading him for supporting you and because he was townreading you here, why didn't you just say it?

---------- Post automerged at 08:51 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:45 AM ----------

    Koalas

You have the game figured out yet?
Why aren't you putting in work?

---------- Post automerged at 09:04 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:51 AM ----------

Vira's god-case on Typhon is here! Because she said she had a strong scum read on Typhon before the neighbor post, and she only scumreads one post before the neighborizer point (which is apparently part of her scumread now?), this is why she was scumreading Typhon initially:

"He said he wouldn't elect Fontsian as Marketplace Owner, and he voted her! Strong scum read!"

As far as shallow as shit reasoning goes, this kind of takes the cake.

---------- Post automerged at 09:09 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:04 AM ----------

Typhon makes a post talking about why townies should place bids on big ticket items (whether they're big ticket for town or scum) so that we're using superior funds to choke out scum.

Vira claims that Typhon is telling the Marketplace Owner to put scum items up for bid.

---------- Post automerged at 09:12 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:09 AM ----------

These are Vira's comments on an earlier version of Typhon's case on Rubicon.
Later, she ends up sheeping Typhon's case on Rubicon.

---------- Post automerged at 09:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:12 AM ----------

I'm going to take a break for now, getting sucked away elsewhere, but

    Vote: Vira

Would appreciate if Jan put some more time in talking about her Vira read especially since her Day 1 seems a lot worse than I remember it.

Was going to say I also would really appreciate Typhon/Tammy thoughts on her but whoever shows up should probably talk about Vira with me and I'd be grateful forever.

I have to head out, so I can't make a real reply, but Nacho, is that really the best case you can make against me?

Of course my reasons to lynch Typhon were bad. I figured that out myself, but you seem to be ignoring that.

I'm doing a reread of the thread. That's my thoughts on your early play.

---------- Post automerged at 12:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:11 PM ----------

Maybe I'll feel differently when I see how your thought process changes somehow, but right now I'm finding that your read on Typhon is not only bad but also inconsistent in weird places: for example, you saying that you had a strong scumread on Typhon before the neighborhood talk and then never explaining why until pages and pages later for really weird reasons, or spending all of your time talking Neighborhoods with Typhon when that wasn't actually at all why you were scumreading him or having the Typhon read for pretty much the entire day and then absorbing Koalas case the second be made one (thus implying that he didn't really have one).

But good move completely misinterpreting my thoughts so far, I'm sure that will go swimmingly for you.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. You might have noticed how Typhon/Jan talked about how this was something that others had scumread for but hey, whatever helps you sleep at night.

I assume you're talking early posts to slightly less early posts? Breezy RVS posts that can't be maintained once actual content starts getting discussed is something that happens with scum all the time. Scum block posts are also a thing on DLP ime. Don't know how it is on other sites.

That.. is a summary of what happened sure. Would you like to do anything with that summary?

You don't see how someone having different opinions on the power/usefulness of roles matters when electing someone who's selecting those roles?

There is a difference in posting, not sure if its conscious, after he was being scumread for posting style. But hey. I'm insane. What do I know?

    Have you?
I've been trying to get my thoughts in order in between exams. What's your excuse?

    Rubicon, for not being scum.

Otherwise, I don't know. The problem is that Fluff and Tammy don't have much content. Tammy's busyness makes it seem rude to even suspect her. I'm just kind of waiting around for activity that probably won't happen.

I don't know Fluff's scum games. Is it normal for Fluff to be so inactive when he's scum? He mentioned he was just getting out of the hospital, but hasn't told us directly he can't make it to the thread because of RL, so I don't know what's going on with him.

Nacho is Nacho. I don't know his scum games either. I don't want to say 'too scummy to be scummy,' but Jesus, some of these posts.

    So in conclusion, blah.

    What about you, Kalas?

Oh that old hat yes. That was one of the reasons I had her as town d1, I think.
    Been a while.

Her case today on you was even more towny. Not the fact that she was unsure about most of the information she poured into the thread, but the way she handled the initial case.
    Rarely something that scum do.

Still not convinced about Tammy being town. *hint*

    Explain this btw.

We talked about the Nacho read earlier and I am curious as to if there is anthing more to your townread on him?!

Like - you said you would make a total reset today and thenyou put him as town ebcause Rubicon had a vague townread on a waco reread and you didn't bother to do anything with it and ignored everything else Rubicon said.

Is there anything more to Nachos read?!

That is a null post, especially in context of a reset. 'There are bad things but a confirmed town player was townreading him so that's a good thing. Judge based on content for today.'

Ah fuck .. your phrasing there was somewhat awkward that I misread it on my phone.

Read it as Town : you, Nacho. Basically

And not as If you are town then Nacho is scum.

So now that I managed to actually read your post the right way ..

Why is Fluff linked with Vira and Tammy linked with Nacho?

Why don't you think Nacho/Hf or Tammy/Vira or anything like that?

I thought her effort was towny, but need to go back and see if there's anything specific I can point to and say "wow, she's town".

Also, since the two scum should be between Vira, Tammy, Koalas and Nacho, this is especially important.

Coming in today and settling on a Vira push over me doesn't feel right in a Vira/Nacho world. The early fontisian/Vira interactions don't feel particularly w/w to me. This is far more gut then the other two but I don't see tom/fonti/HF playing out like it has at all.
