I think Gentleman Usher of the Scarlet Rod by Heather Sinclair is worthy of a place in this c2.

It would really help if the most popular authors of DLP advertised this on their profile.

Imagine if we were the most subscribed C2. It just might be a possibility!

I think this is a good idea, if for no other reason than to have a high-profile C2 that attracts new users to the site who like stories of the type listed.

If I could make a suggestion, it may be preferable to set the cutoff a little lower (4.3 or 4.25, say) as opposed to slurping up obscure stories of the "Established DLP Authors" set, a list with some notable omissions (Heather Sinclair, Inverarity, jbern, enembee of course, myself if you're feeling generous). You'll pick up stories like Heather's Gentleman Usher of the Scarlet Rod (4.3 stars) and jbern's The Lie I've Lived (4.49 stars), which probably deserve inclusion.

Yeah, yeah, jbern ragehate and all that, but objectively, Dagger and Rose probably shouldn't be included if jbern's Lie, a comparable tale with higher rating and far higher popularity among those on the site, isn't.

    Edit: Subscribed, btw.

    Hmm...

How about Dark Respite by Omagic? [DLP][ff.net]

I haven't seen him around for awhile, but the story is kick-ass.

I like. Suscribed. Will browse the stories later to see which ones you included.

On a side note, who the hell is Rusty Red?

She wrote/writes Ectomancer, one of the best AUs out there.

She's also a pretty good artist.

Awesome is what Rusty Red is. The writer of Ectomancer and a member here. Ectomancer <3. That is all.

Oh, and yeah, I subscribed a bit earlier. Killer little idea, enembee. It'd be awesome if some folks got a bit more recognition. DLP Machine, indeed.

Subscribed, I want some love from NMB too.

Oh man, I was going through my e-mail and saw Queens of Darkness. I was so happy for a second. Then I saw C2 Alert and felt bad.

I second Jbern's the Lie who Lived.

I also think Zennith's "On the other side of the coin" is good enough to get in. It's got a rating of 4.23 in Library and 4.30 in WBA.

If the purpose of this is really getting the best fics of DLP together, instead of just Library worthy fics, I think the following should be considered to be deleted:

    - Bestest Birthday Ever by nonjon (hasn't aged that well)
    - Tequila by Johnny Farrar (Good but not good enough imo)
    - Who's polyjuicing whom? by Lord Jeram
    - Insurgence against Azkaban by shezza (Resistance is awesome but a one chapter sequel isn't good enough to be among the best of DLP)

There are some more fics written by great writers that imo aren't good enough to be in it.

^^This is a good idea. I don't know what the average is, but if we take my modest statistics, I get roughly 6,000-8,000 hits on my profile page a month (primarily from the US - surprise, surprise - and 1 hit from the Islamic Republic of Iran, without fail, every month. Huh.)

Anyway, I'll chuck up an ad for it on the profile.

Lol. I have a pretty persistant bastard from Egypt that looks at my profile monthly too. Heads up, my profile is made of: This is my profile. Now kindly leave.

I think there's room for advertising.

    Joined, awesome initiative.

I'll third Jbern's The Lie I Lived. I'm not that fond of having an 'established authors' list, but if you must you might as well include yourself.

I haven't parsed through the whole C2, but I agree that stories that never took off shouldn't be included; e.g. Shezza's Insurgence Against Azkaban.
