Yeah, definitely won't be done in time for this one. I've been working on a Ravenclaw Harry story. It starts at the beginning of fifth year. About 10,000 words in, and only getting warmed up.

No matter - there are always awesome stories thrown into the contests.

 

Your story not being finished doesn't mean you shouldn't submit it. I'd rather see a bunch of unfinished stuff than no entries at all because you couldn't write a whole story/book/series in 7 weeks or less.

tl;dr: submit what you have

 

I'm about 12,000 words in, and I've just reached Halloween...I'm not going to have much time to write more either. I'll still submit though.

Ditto. I actually have some free time, so I promise to deliver prompt judgment. Although my writing credentials are limited to a Pokemon fanfic on DLP and a half-baked HP story from ages back, I volunteer myself as a Judge. If selected, I will try to be as prolific and swift as possible.

I think this is the single greatest thing said about me on the site to date

I missed out on January due to nerves and February for judging, but I've aimed to hit every contest following and thus far have. Sent in two fics for March and two for June, usually with one being the serious entry and the other for fun.

I've got a lot of free time on my hands, and writing is something I enjoy, but honestly? Stuff usually comes from trying to fill in 500 words in the 500 club. A few filler paragraphs one day to hit the mark can be interesting enough to revisit a day or two later, even if only for a few entries, or to try at the situation a little differently, so props to Nuhuh for that, thanks.

 

Well, I'm committed now. 12,500 words, give or take, covering pre-Hogwarts through Halloween. Good luck guys!

Yeah. I probably wouldn't mind getting another week delay on this so some other users(Joe, for example) could submit and make this an actual contest.
