    Hey all,

I released a preview version of DLP Mobile for Android onto the Play Store last night.

It is a read-only app with access to the DLP Forums and DLP Library. Essentially, I wrote it to keep up with all of you while I'm on the train every day, and the experience is centered around Latest Posts. You can browse by thread and by forum as well.

Tear it apart, DLP. I've been agonizing over more features before release, but I figure it's best to get out in the wild and get your feedback before I proceed. What sucks? What do you want it to do?

    Known issues (1.0.1):
    - Library is lame. I know it, a UI and functionality revamp is in the works.
    - Android 2.2 doesn't actually work. Need to fix backward compat.
    - Sort order settings don't actually do anything. Haven't hooked them up yet.'
    - Some bbcode tags not supported yet.

I love you, been wishing for this.

Downloading in a minute, going to post thoughts in a couple days.

    Let's see how this runs.

I'm in one of the preview pictures! 8D

Edit: Huh. It's giving me an error message when I try to download it. Says package file is invalid. Problem with my phone, maybe? I have an HTC One.

Edit edit: Alright, I got it downloaded.

Review: It looks fine in terms of design. Simple, clear cut, etc. It's only showing me the summaries for the stories in the library, which I'm guessing is what you were referring to in the list of faults. The whole newest post bit isn't my thing, or at least not just the pure posts. I think it'd be more coherent to sort it like the New Post feature, but that's just my preference.

And that's about it. Looking forward to the full version!

    Works fine on an S4.

Bit of jittering when I'm scrolling down every so often, but other than that runs fine.

What version of Android? Also, I noticed you didn't submit the error, which makes it hard for me to track down. I'll have better analytics & error handling in the next version but until then...

1.0.2 is out. For everyone with 1.0.1 (first version) you'll get it within a few hours.

    - Fixed Android 2.2 and 2.3 compat (hopefully)
    - Better crash analytics to help debug issues in the future
    - Cut out some fat
    - Order of Latest Posts can be set using the Settings screen now. Threads are still not yet working.

    Still not working:
    - Some BBCode
    - Images (intentional, for now... it requires some finesse to not kill the experience)
    - Thread sort order
    - Library is still lame

Works perfectly on my LG Optimus G, as far as I can tell. Awesome!

I submitted a review on the Play site. It's a minor issue but when I click a link to a post, it some times takes me to the the front of the thread instead of the post I clicked. I didn't know where to click to submit this kind of thing so I left it in the review.

Really missing a way to quickly read op's posts in wba threads. Maybe even incorporate the script that was posted a while ago to filter out non-op posts. Also needs the dlp color scheme.

Edit: Tested it on my Optimus 4xHD, haven't noticed any bugs so far.

Another known issue I forgot to mention, it only pulls the first 1000 posts of a thread. Will increase in the future, will not require an upgrade.

As for where to put it: here would have sufficed, since it ended up being more or less copied here anyways... not sure why you felt the need to put it as a review on Google Play attached to a low-star review. As it said above, preview version.

Maybe and maybe. I'll put it on the feature idea list. I'm not sure a DLP color scheme would work well, but I'll try it.

People actually use my greasemonkey script? That's pretty awesome.

Link to the script for those wondering.

Edit: Crap! It's been installed 600 times. Didn't expect that.

What are the advantages to using this app over Tapatalk?

Edit: Having the star ratings visible is definitely a plus.

I dislike Tapatalk, so I built this. Advantage of Tapatalk: write access. I may add some write access in the future, starting likely with PMs but first I really want to nail the Library experience and viewing experience.

The Latest Post screen is full of posts I don't care about, eg. lots of posts from the same LOL and Mafia threads.

It'd be great if the page was Updated Threads instead, with only the thread name listed and clicking on it would take me to the updated thread.

Or let me ignore some threads/subforums so that their posts don't appear.

Pinch and zoom doesn't work, so it'd be good to get a font size picker in the prefs.

I like the latest threads idea, I'll play with it.

I'll also put a font-size picker on the features to be implemented.

maybe I'm missing something, I'm on my s3, finally remembered to install this, anyways when I look in the library I have no clue how to launch to ffn, I'm also curious if you'll eventually develop PC for mobile? afaik it works just like hpff on desktop so while browsing mobile it's probably possible to up the font to readability size, but there is no mobile version.

written with swype sorry for any possible errors.

So, tried to figure out what you were talking about.

It works fine for me, I'm on Nexus 4, I tried it on my S4, my HTC, and they both work fine too. If you have a default browser, when you click the link (which all appear to be active), then it should just open within your browser. Maybe you should try resetting your defaults.

In regards to PC. Keep an eye out. GREAT THINGS TO COME :33333333

/sorry if it was supposed to be #secretz

@Raven: Just noticed that when you go to preferences menu, its a black overlay with black text. Don't know if that's been brought up before, or if its phone specific, but I get the same thing on all phones.

I am really liking the library view. The highest rated fics at top is best. Maybe a category view would help though. The highest rated fics from romance then dark arts, etc.

Also, I'm a fan of the thread view and not the latest post.

    /my2cents.

    Thanks for making this.
