I have a few questions about the game, so forgive me if any of them seem stupid, or ignorant, as I have little knowledge of the game.

    1) Which type is played by more people: the Xbox version, or the PC version?

    2) Under each Classification, is it possible to gain every specification, if not, how many are you able to gain?

    3) Is there PVP, or just PVE?

    4) How many people usually play it on average?

    5) Is it worth buying, if so, what version: Xbox or PC?

    6) What is the most common class?

    7) Is it possible to make more than one class?

If someone answers these questions, it would be highly appreciated. :)

It's an rpg, there's no online play, so no pvp. Er...you play it buy yourself, and generally on whatever console you like the most, but most people I know say PC is better. I've heard mages rape...? I think there are hybrid classes...

Let's just get this out of the way: you're fucking retarded.

The only reason anybody would care (outside fucking console wars) is if they think it's multiplayer, so: it's single-player, you fucking retard.

I'm going to assume that through this garbled parody of human speech, you're asking if each class can take all the specifications available to said class. No, they can only take two. THAT'S WHY IT'S CALLED SPECIALISATION. BECAUSE YOU SPECIALISE. IF YOU COULD TAKE ALL OF THEM IT WOULDN'T BE SPECIALISATION, YOU FUCKING RETARD.

    It's single-player, you fucking retard.

    It's single-player, you fucking retard.

Yes, and PC, due to smoother controls and mods out the ass.

There's no way to tell this because it's single-player, you fucking retard. Class is more a personal choice than chosen for pure utility, unless you're one of those power-gaming fucktards, in which case go Mage.

I think you mean per account, so: it's single-player, you fucking retard. On the off-chance you're not being a fucking retard, you can only create one PC per playthrough, the rest of the party are locked in to their class, what with being recruitable NPCs.

In conclusion, you are a fucking retard, and I hate you.

Just finished Awakening, and I'll agree with Sarah's assessment that overall the game was a bit underwhelming.

    Pros:

    • The new classes, talents, and skills are all fairly well done.

    • Storyline was reasonably interesting (though a bit underdeveloped).
    Cons:

    • Way too many bugs, including a couple that can be game breakers. Do not go into the silverite mines with any important equipment on your main character, because there's a glitch that sometimes means your gear is lost forever, which sucks since most people like to pimp out their PC.

    • Oghren is the only returning party member from the original campaign (unless you count one scene appearances from Wynne and Alistair). At the very least, they should have kept the Dog (because he was awesome and it wouldn't have been that much to work to include him) and given the romancables from DA:O some role beyond a single throwaway sentence in the epilogue (Morrigan being an exception).

    • Some of the new party members tend to come off as a little flat and unoriginal. In particular, Anders is basically Alistair with a ponytail and an earring, Valenna is Morrigan with pointy ears, and Nathaniel is a much whinier version of Loghain. Sigrun and Justice were alright though.

    • Very little in-game effect from decisions made in the original campaign; the only difference I noticed was whether Anora or Alistair makes a very brief cameo.

    • The game got a lot easier than the original. One could argue that it's justified since the Archdemon could've killed Awakening's final boss in five seconds, but that makes me wonder why so many bandits and thugs thought they ever had a chance in hell of mugging you.

    I laughed.

When you think about it, it does kind of make sense for a Pride Demon to suffer from suicidal overconfidence.

Does anyone know anything about the next DA game? all I know is that it will come out sometime in 2011. (I am not talking about Awakening) I know that there has not been much information about it, so that’s why I am wandering what others think it will contain.
I just hope it’s better than Awakening, it was a good story, but it felt kind of flat when compared to Origins.

February 1, 2011 to be exact; my copy of Awakening had this one piece of paper in the case with a giant blood dragon on it and that date in big numbers.

From how quickly its coming out I think it's probably safe to guess that it's going to be a straight up sequel that just uses a slightly tweaked version of the same game engine; no massive overhaul like Mass Effect 2 got. Then again, since the game engine is pretty good, there's not much reason to change it in the first place.

I found myself being hyped for this game, playing it for awhile, then not even bothering to finish it. Walls of text are alright, but lack of really fun, cool new shit got me bored with it.

Flemeth's shape shifting stuff was awesome, what ever the quest was running around solo transforming into stuff pissed me off bad as well. I'm currently in the dwarven area for the first time, and I just cbf to care enough to finish it.

I found DAO to be an awesome game. No BG1-2, but it was made from awesomeness nonetheless. The worst thing about it was the running around. I recall having the same predicament as Midknight at some point with the dwarven area, and having to go through the notions only because I wanted to be rid of it. Beside that, I liked the 'henchmen' very much with the sole exception of Oghren (who got thumbs up from me due to his sheer hilarity in the expansion).

DAA, on the other hand... *sigh*. It was mainly all these cool events, with WoW-influenced bosses, that had absolutely no connection between them whatsoever. Hi, this is a swamp, hi, this is an enchanted forest, hi, this is... You get the point. There was no connecting the dots, no 'urgency' to go from place to place, all you have to do is run around and boost your castle, NWN2 style, while time stands still in the places you haven't been at yet. And yeah, the new NPCs are terriible. Alistair with Duncan's haircut and spells, Morrigan with a deeper cleavage (if such a thing is possible) and Loghain, only less bitch-y (imho). And yeah, I have to agree on the Dog. It ought to have been in the game, especially if you imported the original Grey Warden (who, Bioware style, is mentioned briefly in the dialogue). Bleh.

And Tehan is right; all the mods make the original game priceless.

I'm actually kind of hoping we'll get to play as the God-baby.

Assuming that you chose to create the god-baby at all. If Bioware follows their trend to make choices matter in the sequels, that could be a problem if you decided to let your Warden, Alistair or Loghain die instead of doing the dirty with Morrigan.

Supposedly, even if you choose to slay the archdemon without the ritual or let someone else do it, she ends being pregnant anyway in the short blurbed epilogue. Weird, I know.

... I know that necroing is bad, but hell its only about a month, and I just really feel the need to comment: Your Warden can SERIOUSLY trade a child's actual soul to a Demon in return for sex.... in the Fade, so its not even real sex? Really?

Yeah I remember that option but it was a pointless thing in my opinion, so I went with knowledge. Blood magic is a much more worthy prize. Though if the Fade can be classified as real or not is hard to determine.

Perhaps spirits think the physical world is unreal to them. The physical world and the Fade seem more like different planes of existence, akin to something from the Forgotten Realms lore.

Yeah, but remember, you can save before you do it, choose blood magic, which unlocks it across any game you will ever play again from the start, then reload, and choose something else.

Did you guys see the email about the new DLC where you can play as the darkspawn? It's a what if, as in what if your player character died during the Joining, and Alistair had to lead the Wardens. 5$, might be worth it if it's longer then the other DLCs

I'm not sure if I should spoiler tag this but I've played it. It's okay, but it really depends on your tastes. There was maybe one, two hours of gameplay tops, and takes place completely in Denerim during the siege. You can't level up, in fact you can't even gain experience, what you see is what you get. You do get to kill some familiar faces though, so that's fun, but you don't even get a cutscene when they die, which is disappointing. My overall impression is this: getting to control an ogre was cool. Either way, it was only five bucks so I wasn't too fussy.

I read some discussion about what might be in store for the sequel, particularly about the identity of the protagonist and whether or not you'll be able to play as the child. Has anyone here managed to steal the codex entry from Arl Foreshadow? That entry does offer some clues.

Think this is what you're talking about. It looks pretty fun. Play as a darkspawn and just kill shit. Even characters from the game...

But I doubt its gonna be really anything more than "huh... thats cool...lets play something elese" kind of thing after ten or twenty minutes....
