Those who actually read the announcements of the admins on the ff.net homepage might have read this before:

ff.net has a new european interface or something like that.
    The address is http://europe.fanfiction.net/

All ff.net addresses should work. They just need the prefix europe instead of www.

    In exemplum:
    The user link: http://www.fanfiction.net/u/999831/
    becomes: http://europe.fanfiction.net/u/999831/
    The story link: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2828044/1/
    becomes: http://europe.fanfiction.net/s/2828044/1/

Go test the links :D At the moment the server answers pretty fast and even if ff.net itself is down. It seems almost no one is reading the ff.net announcements. Or the majority of slash-girls lives in North America :D

    The original text:
The text doesn't say anything that only Europeans are able to access the address, but it might be possible.

It does not matter either way, the site is still filled with slash stories. I am getting exceedingly frustrated with ff.net. It seems their site crashes or something goes wrong every couple of weeks.

So yeah It worked for me, and it also did seem faster, but it is still Fanfiction.net and is thus run by Nazis.

....That is quite annoying, actually. We'll have to change all the FFN links in the library, yeah? Troublesome shit.

Didn't make much difference here. They both loaded up rather quickly, if anything the Europe one was slower.

Not really. The other server is still up but it would be nice to offer an alternative link for each story.

I've just tried the new server and it is a lot faster for me. I suppose the good thing about this is that if one of the servers goes down the other server may stay up. Thus the amount of downtime is lessened.

You know, it's not really the ff.net administrators fault that a good amount of the stories are slash. No, it's the slash writers fault. Do you think people would write slash if there wasn't a market for it? And if you think about the amount of traffic that connects to ff.net's servers on an hourly basis I think they do quite a good job overall.

No. It's just an alternate access to ff.net. Of course the old links also work.

Well, FFN links arent working for me. I must be the only one? That's the only reason I said we'd have to change all the links over.

Yes, you seem to be the only one.

Correct if I am wrong but isnt this just a copy of the original FF.net site. I doubt that the database is different. They wouldn't allocate the same amount of resources for a different database to store fanfics all over again.

I hope it's exactly the same database. It's either another interface for the original data or a mirror.

It's just to allow us Europeans to access the stories, even when all the American slash-fan girls overload the original server/interface.

i do read the ff.net announcements, (glares at you). If you want to know, there is also a server for those in asia. http://asia.fanfiction.net. It still has all the stories, just that you can connect to them faster, but the second day i tried it, it was on some funny reset, and i couldn't get to it. I think that ff.net is too ambitious on this project, and i don't doubt that some africa or pacific one will be coming. Sometimes, they just need to wait.
