First attempt with Jon's Tutorial

    Decided to see what all the fuss was about with Photoshop so I made a sig following Jon's tutorial. Couldn't decide on how to make it personalised so I just went for a Haruhi-based one instead. So how does it look for a first try?

    Couldn't get the pattern maker to work properly so I just ignored that bit.

    It looks very good, resize the tetx so it's smaller and either change it to a colour of the render or put it to overlay and I'd say good job.

    Ok, how about these two then? I just laid an overlay on top of the original white and lowered the opacity so that the colours could show through. Here are the results, tell me what you think.

    Lol, nice work Aekiel. I think I like it better with the text on the bottom, but that's just me.

    Yeah the bottom text just seems to go with it more than the upper text. Might I recommend you start practicing with many different sizes. Use a lot of new tutorials, DevArt is a good place for those.

    Why thank you, good sir :p. Heh, could be worse though and I agree the top text isn't very good. It just didn't seem to look right with the white patch showing through at the bottom. Couldn't fix it either without making it seem forced.

    I dunno, I just couldn't seem to get it perfect...

    Tweak the Opacity till you find something you like. Raising it just a little may help. But in the end it's all about what YOU think looks best, so go with what you want and like.

    Ok, second attempt with a different render. I think this one turned out better than the last, though I couldn't get the balance on the gradient balance right with just plain black/white... So I went with fire instead :D.
