“Well shit,” I muttered to myself. I glanced at the man who had thrown the manilla folder at me. He smirked, and I just wanted to punch him, in the face, as hard as I could. I've been taking kung fu classes, I bet I could break his nose if I tried.

I glanced down at the folder and shuddered, what lay within would undoubtedly be both profoundly enlightening and utterly damning to my case. The battle for Chicago had been over for weeks but even now the mystery that surrounds exactly what happens is unknown. Something had happened though, that's for sure, and it was up to me to follow the trail left behind by the conflict participants. I had no choice but to slog through the paperwork to reach the paycheck.

I opened the manilla folder and saw on the first page a list. It had 28 names on it, in neat order of who had been witnessed at the scene of the crime that began on that cold December 18th. They were well known in these parts for being to some of the seediest and most untrusted, lecherous and all around scummy beings in the area. I hope this will be a fairly easy knot to untangle, but with these people I feel it's going to be anything but.

There's a note at the bottom of the paper, after everyone's listed. It is only three words, scrawled in dark black ink and almost tearing through the paper at parts; but I'll be damned if they aren't some of the most chilling I've ever read in a while.

“DON'T TRUST ANYONE.”

6 Wizards (Town)

1 Merlin
-Can't be night killed
-Can choose one person a night to swap places with one other person
-Survives one lynch as long as Donald Morgan lives

Ebenezar McCoy
-Once a night may target a player to kill, breaking laws as necessary
-Before game or on Day 1, McCoy must choose one person to communicate with. Once selected, that person is the only one who can communicate with McCoy until either dies or the game ends.

Warden Donald Morgan
-As long as he lives, the Merlin has one lynch survival
-Due to the nature of his assignment, he has followed Dresden everywhere and knows who he is. (Knows who Dresden is, but can not communicate with them)

1 Ectomancer
-Once a night, may check the corpse to see what their role was

Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden
-Once a night can Investigate a player, only finds out if they are guilty or not guilty, no faction specification.


Elaine Mallory
- Can choose once, every two nights to check the lynch-vote for guilty versus non-guilty

WIN CONDITIONS: Kill all the Scum.

3 Knights of the Cross (Knights)

Ammorachius
-Once a night can choose to target a person for purification from Denarians.(combines with second Knight, they both can only choose one person a night.)
-Survives a night kill from a Denarian only once, Hand of God snatches him from his foes.

Esperrachius
-Once a night can choose to target a person for purification from Denarians. (combines with first Knight, they both can only choose one person a night.)
- A Particularly hardy man of Russian descent, also a former Denarian, allows him to “see” a Denarian's action once every two nights, but not who they are or whether they succeeded.

Fidelacchius
- Once a night can choose to target a person for purification from Denarians. (combines with first Knight, they both can only choose one person a night)
- Can switch themselves with another if they are targeted by a Denarian through an act of great honor

WIN CONDITONS: Purify the Denarians/Kill the Scum. If at the end, the Town wins, but there is a Denarian still intact, the Knights lose.

2 Archive (Town)

1 Archive AKA Ivy
-Once a night may see the actions of one player (all she sees is "used their night action" or "didn't use their night action" regardless of whether they have one or not)

1 Kincaid
-The bodyguard protects the Archive. If Ivy is targeted, the bodyguard dies. If not the Bodyguard lives.
-Learns who Ivy is on the fourth day.

5 Humans (Town)

-Will survive a night kill once

1 “Gentleman” Johnny Marcone
- If he is Night Killed, he may level a death sentence that pierces all protections. Does not activate if he is lynched.

1 Father Forthill
- May pray once a night to send God's Grace to someone in the night (that person cannot be night killed)

2 Members of Saint Giles
-Can communicate with each other

Susan Rodriguez
-Performs the same function as the Whore: “Who did the whore dump,” response.
-Condition: If Nk'ed by Red Court she becomes one of them.

3 White Court (Scum)

Lara Raith
-Will appear as Human when investigated by the Archive
-Cannot be killed in the night
- Can target one person a night to be seduced, once seduced that person is considered a thrall and all their night powers are blocked until they either have lived 2 days or die. Once 2 days is up, they can be seduced again.
- (Humans and Archive set can be seduced, Knights, Denarians and Erlking are immune, All other Vampire Courts die if a seduction attempts occur on them.)

Thomas Raith
-Can hide what a person was from the Ectomancer

Justine Raith
-Can role-block once a night

WIN CONDITIONS: Kill the town, to outright win, you have to be the Court with the most survivors at the end of the game. If one of the others have more, then you lose.

3 Red Court (Scum)

Red King
- Will appear as Not Guilty when investigated by Dresden, Will appear as "used night actions" whether they have or not.
- Cannot be killed in the night, can only be lynched
- Can target one person to be killed during every other night phase

Red Duchess
-Can choose one person a night to “auction off to the highest bidder” (That person is kept silent for one day. Cannot vote or be lynched or use their night action)

Red Baron
-Can choose once every two nights to search for a White Council member. If a wizard is found, the Baron cannot use this power for two days.

WIN CONDITIONS: Kill the town, to outright win, you have to be the Court with the most survivors at the end of the game. If one of the others have more, then you lose.

2 Black Court (Scum)

Dracula
-Can choose once a night to “change” a player (not known till game end)
-At any time, the Dracula may call forth his legion and command them for a day. That means, any who have been infected will be notified and their vote will automatically match the Dracula's vote.

Mavra
-Can choose once a night to role-block someone
-As long as she is alive, Dracula can be revived, but this takes a night.

WIN CONDITIONS: Taint the Town. To outright win, must be the largest Court left, tainted players count towards you end count.


3 Denarians (scum)

Nicodemus
-Once a night can "offer" another player a Coin. After two nights, if they are not lynched, they are added as a token to the Denarian count. Once Nicodemus has more than 5 not counting the three that start the game, he can declare a Raid on the Church which destroys all the Knights that are left.
- Survives one Night Kill thanks to his fancy neck tie

Tessariel
-Knows who Nicodemus is
-Survives two night kills as Denarians are tough to kill.

Thorned Namshiel
-Knows the other two Denarians
-May contact one or the other Denarian to form an alliance for one night, allowed once every other nights.
-Can disrupt an action once every other night.

WIN CONDITIONS: Kill every Knight of the Cross, anyone is just a bonus. If you manage to win, I will reward you with extra flavor text.

1 Fae (Netural)

The Erlking
-Cannot be night killed
-Can choose once a night to turn someone to the Hunt
-Can choose instead to send the Hunt after someone. This will kill them a Day after it is sent
-Can not choose to turn on consecutive turns
-Can not taint while a hunt is out
Taint can be role-blocked, Hunt can not be roleblocked.
Looses his powers and becomes a Human if the Wizards “protect” him

Just make new QT's, duh. Don't make it too easy for players to cheat, even if you believe in their integrity.

edit: And for the avoidance of doubt, this is more a warning against accidental cheating than on purpose cheatign anyway. Mistakes can happen and if there's a way to avoid them you should do so.

 

Do you accept noobs? If yes, then I'd like to play. My only experience with mafia games is reading a couple of threads on this very forum and they were hilarious. I wanna see if playing is more fun (other than more time consuming and... probably stressing?).
